@judyalvqrez tagged me to share a list of all the games I played in 2025 💜💜
for someone who got a brand new gaming pc this year, you'd think I'd have played a lot more 😅😅 and instead of ranking traditionally I'll just put some general thoughts/explanations below:
Always playing: These are the top three games I think I will always be playing for the rest of my life. I'm always making new farms in Stardew, whether on PC with a shit ton of mods or on the Switch. Binding of Isaac is probably the second most played game after that, always chasing the 100% completion on that. Alan Wake 2 probably needs no explanation.
Remedy Replay: If you're reading this as a follower of mine, I'm sure I don't have much to explain but after playing Alan Wake 2 for the tenth time* (aborted playthrough on ps5 turned into camera-hacking reshade new playthrough on PC), I decided to go through all the Remedy games again, including some I didn't finish/play (except Death Rally 😅 but I have it downloaded!) before starting yet another playthrough of AW2 that I intended to start today, but started a few days ago to bring in the new year.
Also special shout out to myself for getting the platinum on Control this year 👏
Finished and LOVED: All of these games were brand new experiences minus Max Payne 2 which I did start last year, but kinda softlocked myself and rage quit for a while lol. I had put the asterisk because I do intend to play SHf again since there's a lot of replayability (and esp since they added the easy combat mode), and Quantum Break for the alt paths I didn't take (legit forgot Sean Durrie was in the game, otherwise would have went with his character at the first branch)
Endless games: Ya know, party games / online multiplayer. I do need to get back into FBC Firebreak cause I haven't played after the first big update they did that added the new maps. Played a lot of Mario Party with my cousins (and I'm pretty sure we played MK8 too but this year was def focused on party), and ended up playing Mario Kart World by myself (which. it's like. fun but MK8 was sooooo much better)
Played but haven't finished:
^ i think of that quote every time I think about how I am notorious for not actually finishing games 😅
New to Me games:
Oblivion Remastered - Never actually played before, didn't do like. any of the main mission lol Did the dark brotherhood, mage's guild and thieves' guild storylines instead
Disco Elysium - Started on my ps5 while I was dogsitting for a week at my cousins, around the time I got the gaming PC so when I got home that kinda took up all my time 😅 but I liked what I played! and will likely need to restart when I go back to it
Pokemon Legends ZA - I REALLY love this game, just...haven't finished the main storyline 😅 (a common theme in this part of the list)
Fantasy Life i - I never played the DS one but wanted to, so I was happy when this came out and I got to play it. Very charming game. Didn't finish the main storyline but did get all the lives, and was working on maxing them all out (I think I had the cooking one and sewing ones left? Maybe the art one too since that was one of the last ones you get??)
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment - Again. REALLY love this game. Just haven't finished. Came out when i was getting like. DEEP into my Remedy Replay, so that's taken most of my time and attention. I think I'm close to the end?
Luma Island - Didn't finish the main story line? Also wanted to restart to redo my little area lol. But I think this is a charming game, and was a nice distraction
Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar - Never played the OG but got this when I saw it was getting good reviews. I did do the main story but still wanted to get all the upgraded tools / teleport stone thing / basement orbs etc before I consider it "finished." (And get my kid!) Definitely one of my favorite SoS games.
Pokemon Infinite Fusion - Taking advantage of a proper gaming PC vs my laptop which probably still could have ran it, started getting some pokemon rom hacks and started with this one having seen some videos of it. It's just fun! And I ultimately chickened out and turned on cheats but i'm still having a good time and that's all that matters!
Restarted:
Echoes of the Plum Grove - Pretty sure I started this last year, and never really finished the first year. So I restarted this year and this time turned off the freshness feature though I think that is really cool to have in a farming sim. Got farther, I am pretty sure I'm in the end of winter year 1? And technically this game is kinda endless but with farming sims like that, I usually count doing 1 year as "finishing" before I make a new save 😅
Fields of Mistria - Same as Plum Grove, restarted, got farther, and stopped for X reason lol but really really like this game and its mechanics.
Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - Got the switch 2 upgrade and started a new playthrough! And then got distracted!
Didn't put on the chart, but I did attempt to start RDR2 (never played the first, and didn't get far cause I was sick when I started,) and played 10 hours of sims 2 according to steam lol.
I do have quite a lot of games in my libraries that I still want to play, Soma might be the next new-to-me game I play after this AW2 run (or if I just take a break for a bit), I want to continue some of the games above, want to play some games I got on my PC now that I wasn't able to get before like Dead Space 2
