Ethan would have come home for the first time since he left the note, and his parents would crowd him worried sick. His parents would accept that they need to listen to him more, and Ethan would realize they both had good intentions. they'd hug it out etc etc...

its a good premise I just dont have the motivation to write it unfortunately :(

I'll also tell you about the cut chapter/section that would've gone somewhere inbetween chapters 17, 18, and 19.

the idea didn't get far - i was having troubles writing it, the surrounding story would've done better without the tonal shift, and it was way too late in the fic for me to be introducing another plot line and character.

yup I had thought about adding another suprise cameo... GBSN.

his story would've been him fighting with his OCD. he wanted to go out to protests and help, but his fear and mental health stopped him. he would've been friends with Dooo, the two sometimes eating together in the music room.

Ethan (bad at computers), would've called Gib (Dooobra gave Ethan his number). Gib would've been able to figure out where Dooo is (hes a hacker guy here lol) and give that info to the group.

Gib realises his own health comes first, and that he is being helpful by doing this. His story then would've resolved when he shows up to the protest in chapter 20 alongside Ethan. Gib's appearance isn't out of some feeling that he's obligated to help, rather that he wants to help, and has pushed himself to go out and do it.

I left enough vagueness in MIYM that this can technically still be cannon, we just never see it. I just felt like it added extra bloat and would feel tacked on to the rest of the story (because it would be).
