I remember a very dear white friend (relevant detail) coming to an event hosted by some of my family, we’ll call her K.
Everyone loved her, she had a fun time, food and drinks were shared, all that good stuff. A few days later we’re reminiscing over how well the event went, and she said she had a great time, and said “yeah one of your cousins was looking for a job and had some experience relevant to a role open here so I suggested that he applied, but now I can’t remember his name.”
So I was like, “oh, well, mind describing him to me?”
And she goes, “oh, he was tall, kinda tan, longish hair, brown eyes.”
I keep waiting for her to finish her sentence and after a sizeable pause she goes, “that sound like anyone you know?”
K, my dear, that side of my family is Native American. That sounds like everyone I know
