1 - The meaning behind my URL

It’s frankly not that interesting–Ashilean is an old character name, and that character just happened to be my focus back when making a lot of my online accounts/a character name that has aged pretty well in my mind. I have recently been feeling a little bit of a shift in naming bias, though, so it might be going out of vogue soon. We’ll see. I still don’t hate it.

7 - Biggest turn offs

I guess like apart from someone just being like an asshole? I find smell can be a really make it or break it thing. Most of the time it doesn’t really matter to me, but every once in awhile there’s someone who’s ambient smell just irritates me. It’s not even like, a bad smell, or an unclean smell or anything. Just makes me kind of agitated when I’m around them. Not so much any more, but I used to get really hung up on that kind of thing.

9 - Tattoos I want

I’ve been thinking a lot about like, two rings maybe about an inch and a half thick just above or below my elbow. Probably below. I don’t really have anything fun behind that one, it’s just a design I’ve fancied for a while now. The other is I’ve toyed around with the idea of getting my grandmother’s surname, Yagi (八木), tattooed on the inside of my upper arm. I guess I just don’t want the entirety of that side of my family to fade away, not that a tattoo will really do anything about that. I have a feeling I know that answer I get, but I feel like I should probably ask her about it before I do anything like that.

14 - Piercings I want

I’m pretty happy with having both my ears pierced–those have always sort of been the important ones. I’ve wanted to get a second hoop in my left ear for a long time, just a little ways up from the one I already have, and I also kinda lowkey would be down to get a septum piercing. Dunno if I could pull that off though.

16 - Favourite movie?

Aaaaah, again really hard, but this time less time-dependent difficult and more just normal difficult. I think if I had to narrow it down, I’d go with Porco Rosso, The Empire Strikes Back, and Singin’ in the Rain. Porco Rosso because I can’t get over the aesthetic, Empire because I’m a nerd and it oozes Star Wars maybe the most out of all of the films, and Singin’ in the Rain for the nostalgia and the nostalgia alone.

27 - First celebrity you think of when someone says attractive

Idris Elba. Feel like I don’t have to explain that one. But also let him use his English accent in more roles.

48 - Have you ever ditched school to do something more fun?

Yeah, here and there. Only a couple of times in high school, and one of those was the pre-designated ditch day, so not even sure if that counts. As for university, I think the only time I’ve ditched school was to sleep. Which is a kind of fun.

77 - Have you ever laughed until something you were drinking came out your nose?

No, luckily I’ve avoided that thus far. I’ve gotten damn close, though. There was one time a handful of years ago when I took a very poorly-timed drink during a D&D session and ended up spit-taking part of it because a couple of other party members were being hooligans. Downside: That page of my player’s handbook dried all wavy. Upside: I could always open right to where my class was.

83 - Have you ever glued your hand to something?

Probably like paper as a child, but nothing fun. That was actually something I very carefully tried to avoid back in my avid glue-using days. As I’ve said before and as I will say again: sticky hands just ain’t it.

99 - Have you ever met someone who didn’t seem real?

Shit, this took me ages to think of but oh boy have I. I was chilling more or less behind the library on my campus because there’s this big green area with a bunch of winding paths that eventually lead into more forested areas beyond. As the sun was setting, out of these woods and along one of these winding paths came a man who was moving his legs like one does when riding those weird swivel board things. I thought I realized he was actually just on roller skates, but as he got closer I could see that it looked like he just had wheels screwed into the soles of some sneaker. Like. He was just wearing normal white sneakers and each one had a single office chair wheel attached to the bottom. The guy just cruised out of the forest and down the path towards the library and I’m still pretty sure he was either a cryptid or a fairy.

11. How many pairs of shoes do you own?

That I use regularly, 4 - tennis shoes, boots, snow boots, sandals. There are also a ridiculous number of other shoes that I’ve accumulated over the years and not gotten rid of.

12. What was your last dream about?

As far as I remember? Something about used refrigerators, being nice neighbors, and cannibalism. It was a weird dream.

13. What talents do you have?

people like my writing sometimes? and apparently I give good hugs

18. Do you want children?

I’d like to have kids around. I don’t really want to have a stomach parasite, or to wake up at 3am to the sound of a baby screaming, or clean up messes. But I like explaining things to people, and I like finding words for things. So maybe. I don’t know. We’ll see.

24. Baths or showers?

I like the idea of baths, and bath bombs. But I always forget, or it’s too much work, so showers.

38. What's the longest you've ever gone without sleep?

About 38 hours, that time we had the overnight Lord of the Rings marathon.

Honestly I really like the way scottish accents sound. They’re just... cool

5. If you were a type of tree, what would you be?

Oh man thats such a good questionnnn… Id probably say either a Cherry-blossom tree or a weeping willow… But really I don’t know. Sometimes I think with these types of questions they’re best answered instead by someone who knows you well instead of yourself.

6. When you looked in the mirror this morning what was the first thing you thought?

Huh, did I even look in the mirror this morning? I don’t even remember gosh…. um probably ‘wow I look like a raccoon’ (I always forget to take off any eye makeup before I go to bed and it just smudges)

8. What do you label yourself as?

Thats an interesting one… I don't know? A person? Labels are hard. I use different labels in differing situations. First that comes to mind is ‘nerd’ and stuff, and then the whole ‘cis female demi-hetersexual’ thing. It depends on the context of the question I guess.

LARP SUPPLIES I HAVE NO SELF CONTROL AND NEED TO PRACTICE MAKING WEAPONS AND THE FIBERGLASS I USED LAST TIME WAS TOO THIN ALSO REGULAR GREY-SILVER DUCT TAPE AND MAYBE STUFF TO MAKE PACKETS BECAUSE BEING A NICE PERSON SOUNDS NICE

(in all honesty though Rule# 1 is treat others like you would like to be treated, good even if you’re not building a society on an island)

49. If you could breed two animals together to defy the laws of nature, what new animal would you create?

DRAKESPAWN OCS?? Um. Ok well secret hidden Kate says human and cat because that is what I think it would be hella rad to be. But does a human count as an regular animal in this sort of situation ahhhh? Could humanity deal with another set of traits to distinguish groups of people off of? ??????????

If not then probably like… a mountain lion and a rat.

LILAC: favourite mythical creature?I am a huge fan of dragons of almost any type.

PASTEL-PINK: if you had to dye you hair, what colour would you dye it?Ooh. I’ve dyed my hair before (a pink streak and then purple tips) and I’ve been considering doing it again. If I did, it would probably be blue!

YELLOW-GREEN: how do you feel right now?(already answered this but I’m gonna do it again because time passes) Much better! I ate lunch and had a bowl of ice cream, and my linguistics class went really well despite me botching the homework. Still pretty stressed, but calming down!

GREEN: favourite flower?I’m a fan of dandelions. Normally I don’t like bright yellow, but... dandelions just feel happy! And you can blow on them to make a wish, too, and they look really cool when they’re that old. And they grow everywhere! And theoretically they’re edible, so that’s cool even if I don’t eat them.

2. When did your last hug take place?

I think it was during that night mission when we got the hugging spell cast on us and hugged everyone.

3. Are you a jealous person?

I try not to be, but yes. Not really too jealous I think, just “oh I wish that happened to me”. Generally I try to brush it off pretty quick though, and don’t let it affect me too much.

4. Are you tired right now?

A little. I actually slept well last night though, so it’s not too bad.

9. What should you be doing right now?

Working on LARP stuff. GM class mission planning, chronicling, and working on the wiki.

18. When was the last time you smiled?

Pretty recently. I was just watching Orange is the New Black, and that show makes me happy, especially the issues with privatization of the prison system in the third season. 

20. Do you secretly like someone?

Eh. Not as such. Basically I don’t need that particular complication right now, so it’s much easier to tell my brain “fuck you, no” anytime it feels like pulling some shit on me. And generally speaking, I have enough emotional/mental control that I can pull that one off and keep any kind of situation from escalating. Or at least lie to myself enough to where I can believe I’m able to do that.

22. Who do you feel most comfortable talking to about anything?

Myself? That or someone who is my friend but is also involved in my life little enough to where they don’t have context for anything I tell them. I don’t like talking about my feelings, I don’t like people knowing about them so much, and I don’t like it when they have actual context and people and situations that they can connect my feelings to especially. That’s probably unhealthy on some level or another, but hey. 

23. What are you NOT looking forward to?

I have to leave the adult league campout a tiny bit early to go to summer orientation at UCSC. So there’s that. But that’s a small thing. I’m a little scared about college itself, but also excited, so I don’t think that counts.

24. What ARE you looking forward to?

The campouts. Duh. Always. Or just any kind of LARP. I have a problem.

32. What’s the last thing you put in your mouth?

Food of some sort I think. Rice maybe.

34. How late did you stay up last night and why?

Only like 11 or so, because I slept like four hours the night before and was already tired from the rest of the campout, and I’m not crazy like some people. It actually woulda been earlier but I was watching Orange is the New Black.

35. If you could move somewhere else, would you?

I mean, I’m going to college in the fall. Other than that, I wouldn’t move out of LARP range, of course. In terms of specifics, I certainly think it would be fun to do a thing like you people are probably doing with moving in with LARP people.

38. When was the last time you were extremely disappointed?

Extremely? I dunno. Extreme emotions aren’t my thing. Probably some LARP shit or another, but even then I don’t know that it could be described as “extremely”.

39. Three names you go by...

Uh. I mean I could just list larp characters. For actual names, does pronunciation count? Because I will respond to pretty much any variation of Clara. Also I guess there’s the various usernames I use. And you’ve got my first, middle, and last names, which you could sorta count.
