In financial and real estate industry, the firms are required to assess a test where the money comes from. Should it be moral or amoral point they still check for the validity.

Recently, MIT lab was questioned for taking donations from Epstein for their projects. This shows how the technology firms are willing to take any money for donation to work towards their projects. As someone calls it money is money!

With that said, Silicon Valley has been taking money from any country that is ok to deal with as well. No matter where the money comes from the Valley takes it. This raises a question as how far can we go and we still be fine with the value of the money?

When technology firms go under scrutiny for such actions, they will be hinted that their money isn’t worth the loss in profit. Therefore, the firms reevaluate the investment coming and would not jeopardize anymore from the consumer perspective.

This shows that the customers and consumers and users will feel guilty of this matter and don’t know what to do. Therefore, they are forced to go with the competitor and keep their money with them instead.

As far as MIT Lab scandal, they are based on donation money as a non profit and need to keep as much funds as possible because in the non profit world its tough to get such high donations especially from one person. Therefore, they were in the critical point to deny the donations and keep moving with their operations until a scandal reach the news outlet.

If Facebook says that 20% of their investors are based in Russia how would you feel about that as an example? That’s another perspective to look into since the 2016 election meddling. This one is a little too abstract but one can say what they believe is right and say Facebook has the right to keep that money.

How about if your funds are from Saudi Arabia for your technology firm after the killing of Jamaal Khashoggi? How would that make you feel from that point of view? This resonates to the factor that we should fact check our investors before we are allowed to take anymore chances as well. Therefore, the value of money comes with PR crisis and how to deal with the after math of it.

Made in the Future is an effort to capture our musings about what a not-so-distant tomorrow might look like. Our tools—faster, cheaper, and more out of control than ever—have triggered seismic shifts in how we design, manufacture, and distribute. And that has us asking lots of questions: What new tools or technologies will we create? How will they change the way we behave and learn? How will they shape our world?

We are a curious bunch, so we sat down with some smart friends to learn where we are headed. We also learned a lot about the edges of technology from various groups at the MIT Media Lab. Through these conversations, we’ve started to see glimpses of some really exciting things—from basic concepts to much bigger ideas.

Because one of the great feats of the future will be making incredibly complex things seem simple, we broke those really exciting things down into five themes:

Find a way to maximize the time your kids spend online and help them learn to think creatively, reason systematically and work collaboratively. With Scratch, a project of the Lifelong Kindergarten Group at the MIT Media Lab, kids can program their own interactive stories, games and animations, then share their creations with an online community. It’s just one aspect of MIT’s self-described “antidisciplinary” research lab, which has also given rise to ground-breaking robotics and new outposts around the country where kids can learn everything from urban farming to bike repair to how to build a computer.
