The first Pokemon resembles a humanoid moth with a water theme. The third Pokemon resembles a humanoid moth with a fire theme. It has a spherical dark orange head with orange eyes with maroon sclera, orange and maroon antennae, a brown body, maroon wings with orange flame patterns, and red legs. It has orange facial markings, resembling a line that originates from behind its head before "curling" under each eye. It has an orange diamond-shaped crystal on its chest. Mistol - Mountain Mist Pokemon - fairy/water It only comes out at night, spreading a thick mist across the mountains it lives near. It is believed to be completely blind during the day, the sunlight being too bright for its sensitive eyes. / It covers the mountains in an eerie mist whenever it appears, which folklore states is to ward off those who would disturb ancient gravesites. Walking around when this Pokemon is present is said to feel like swimming above water.
Bronlight - Mountain Lights Pokemon - fairy/electric Bright lights appear over its mountain home every autumn. It seems to create these in such a manner that they could be mistaken for ball lightning, or perhaps they are instances of ball lightning under the Pokemon’s control. / It signals its appearance with bright lights over the mountains it calls home. For a while people thought that its lights could be refractions of car headlights from a nearby highway, but when the road was closed for repairs the lights still appeared.
Belflame - Mountain Blaze Pokemon - fairy/fire Some claim it to be a vengeful witch of the mountains, while others liken it to an insectoid beast that patrols the highways installed in the past century. Either way, it is fiercely territorial, and stories claim it relentlessly chases trespassers out of its claimed homeland. / Its unblinking gaze burns like hot coals. It was once said to torment a family that had built their homestead in its territory without permission, setting both their crops and house ablaze until they vacated the area.
More Cantessy Fakemon! Who wants a legendary trio? Here's Cantessy's legendary trio, the Mountain Moths! They're all based around different Appalachian folklore and odd occurrences. Mistol is inspired by the Moon-Eyed People, a group of humanoids who would come out at night because they couldn't see in the harsh sunlight, and I also got some inspiration from mists that hand around mountains in general. Bronlight is inspired by the Brown Mountain Lights, an odd unexplained lightshow that happens around...well, Brown Mountain, as you can probably imagine. Belflame is inspired by the story of the Bell Witch, a vengeful witch who basically harassed the Bell family and trashed their house and such. And of course, given that they're all moths, it's probably no surprise that the unifying element of their design was inspired by the Mothman. Especially Belflame, they were originally going to be the only Mothman-based one before I figured they should have a more unifying element tying them together than just being fairy-types hehe.
