I've been watching Call the Midwife? It's a little formulaic, but not bad for when I am knitting.
Every episode is this... dramatic irony, I guess? I can't imagine they expect the audience to be as surprised as the characters. Basically every episode, a little thing happens near the beginning that somehow causes a crisis later on.Â
For example, there's an old nun with Alzheimer's (or something like that) and she picked up the phone at the beginning of the episode, even though only the on-duty midwives are supposed to, had a funny little conversation with an excited dad-to-be, and even managed to keep herself together to take a message.
HOWEVER the next time she picks up the phone it isn't going to go so well, of course. You spend the episode like "oh no who is going to be left in the lurch to have a baby all alone" and of course it's tied in with the storyline about racial prejudice...

The other reply won't copy, but yeah. It obviously seems to be working for them so I think we're stuck with the one word description titles for the time being. Barring Big Hero 6, which is based on an existing Marvel property, we're getting Zootopia and Giants and Moana... I looked on Netflix and it's available so I think I'll watch it either tonight or tomorrow!

Thanks, it is a relief to finally do it as I've been contemplating it for weeks! I wanted to tell at least one of them in person, but it wouldn't come out so I just went ahead and wrote it out instead. If only someone would comment instead of being asleep argh!

That’s kinda odd. There’s quite a few people that I know in my life who I’m still friends with after they’ve gone and gotten married. Some of them I’m even closer friends to since their marriage. I suppose that may be just me though.
Maybe you are a better friend than my old friends.
