When Bill does have a neck? Billy blinked and rubbed his own neck, suddenly glad it existed. Other universes...He thought darkly. And I thought the future was screwy! If his counterpart didn't always have a neck that could mean a lot of things. In any case, Wendy was revealing more than she knew about the other him. He shook his head.
"Ya got something against bow ties, kid?" He asked, puffing up. He happened to be wearing his now because, well, it was fantastic. The hat too. Seriously, whoever had invented top hats was the best.
Then she went on to explain who the Gleefuls and the Pines were and, boy, Billy wished she had never asked. Gus's great, great, grandkids (or was it Great-great-great?) were really the decedents of the Pines brothers, and the Pines kids were really Gleeful? Or...something like that.
He made a clearing the table gesture. "Never mind, never mind! Enough talking about your world!" He held his head "One future is enough for me, I think!"
Pitt Cola. That something he had heard of. He laughed, mostly out of surprise "Pitt Cola just got invented in my time. Probably won't get very popular though. I mean, our version of it has a peach pit floating around in the bottle!" He made an exaggerated gagging expression. "Who does that?"
"I wonder if Gompers just took longer to get born in your world too..."
Wendy was quite aware of the information she was leaking about Bill. She found it fun to release hints and clues like it were some sort of game. She also found it fun to watch for little reactions - like Bill rubbing at his neck. She assumed he'd had a thought something along the lines of enjoying having a neck at all.
"I haven't really got anything against bowties, I guess. Just the ridiculous yellow getup... Oh, and the hat. Really, what's with the hat...?" She asked, frowning a little.
"Should I talk in more simple terms for you or something? You get confused a lot and I guess it makes me a little concerned about your level of intelligence." She teased. Really it was probably because she was a known rambler. She knew better than to go around underestimating the intelligence of other people because that was her own usual trick.
"I don't really know too much about your future though. I've only barely come in contact with it myself so it's difficult to explain... I'm going to assume based on what I know about how our realities relate that Pitt Cola actually becomes successful in your future though. I mean, things there are sort of the opposite of things here. Like in your universe, Wendy Corduroy is a rough and tumble rule breaking tomboyish teenager who doesn't work very hard at her job and I'm a hardworking yet cheery young lady with a keen sense of fashion, a general respect for rules, and overwhelming femininity."
"And I uh, guess I don't know much about Gompers other than he eats tin cans and hangs out by the Mystery Shack."
