PUH LEASE LETS TALK ABOUT EDDIE first off what was the point? he was sooo filler and a combo of the other two (ig??? at least that’s what audrey said and i could sorta see it) and don’t even get me started on joey leaving pacey for him only for eddie to be a complete JERK to her the entirety of the next ep he was sooooo annoying 😭 i can’t i must hear your thoughts!
i have a LOT of feelings about eddie, firstly being that i do not like that man at all and i get offended when people say he was a good love interest like he had maybe... 2 episodes of being decent to joey but otherwise he was SO mean to her?? like he was constantly judging her and saying snarky and mean things to her. it's like the writers wanted to recapture the bickering that worked so well for pacey and joey but forgot that pacey and joey were FRIENDS and had known each other their whole lives, meanwhile eddie is a stranger who has known joey for like... a few months.
i will say that i am one of the few people who didn't get mad at joey for all of that (i am a joey apologist for pretty much everything, she's my fav), like it sucked and the whole thing is really sad BUT i do get why she felt like she needed to get back with him, they didn't really have super proper closure, but the fact that the very next episode is eddie getting mad at her IN PUBLIC about their sexual relationship??? like another example of pacey being better than her other love interests because even when things were awkward between them during s4 about sex he NEVER would have aired out their problems in front of anyone else
but no i think eddie was pointless, like i get they felt like they needed to give joey a new love interest but at the point it happened in the show it just felt so unnecessary and it always annoyed me how they tried to make it seem like he was on the same level as pacey and dawson when it came to how much joey loved him and what not like i don't like dawson but i can't argue with joey loving him, she did, and obviously pacey is the love of her life but like her and eddie dated for like 6 months and he abandoned her because they were too different or whatever like the way he broke up with her pisses me off so bad
