It shouldn’t be a holiday, this should be celebrated everyday. For those who have served and those still serving, thank you. Your government may not appreciate you, take care of you and is quick to abandon you when they are done with you but some of us truly appreciate your sacrifices. Coming from a family that has had many serve and some still serving, my heart is heavy on a day like today. Because some have sacrificed ALL, and can not be here for the BBQ’s and cold beers. Many may not know but I stop bowling in 2005 after my brother passed away. It was our thing to do together. Well today was my first time going bowling since and we had a blast. I forgot how much fun it was. And although I missed my Devon every time I rolled that ball down the lane I know he wouldn’t want me not to have fun.
