#missing link oc

This is my mentioned Missing link oc. She's not actually new ive had her saved since May (referenced in that messy random Comic) and ive finally gotten around to have courage to show her on here. Ive tweaked her designs a bit since then and now here she is!

This is My Missing link oc Charlie Leeds. By the last name and text thing shes the one and only jersey devil.

Charlie is about 5.2 to 5.3. She's got a huge temper and can get ticked off easily. She's also loud, a bit impulsive and a complete mess (more on that later on) shes been alone for years in the Pine Barrens Forest, South Jersey. She's a bit of a loner and reclusive who's not really big on humans or anyone else and she belives its for the best to not be around people due to being seen as only a "Monster" (she gets development later on when she meets Lionel and Susan especially susan and opens more up to others) but as you get to know her she's fiercely loyal and surprisingly sweet (only around people she cares about)

I know what youre thinking "isn't the jersey devil a Kangaroo looking thing?" I thought it would be a neat to have the origin of the jersey devil be exaggerated (cause most stories and legends are) only like a key things are correct but different. Like she did have a mother/family with the last name Leeds but she was born the way she is and was adopted as a baby (more info on origin story later. Spoiler its some angsty shit)

Took alot of research on the actual Jersey Devil into making her but with my own flare with The forked tail, dark color, red eyes all that jazz. With some other outfit inspiration from the Victorian era

Wing design was a tough one but I used reference from the description of the actual one with "Bat like wings" with some details of my own. Wingspan was hardest im not good with wingspans. It was described as "20 to 30 feet" but I made what best with what I had.

I like to imagine Susan and Charlie relationship inspirations being like N and Uzi (murder drones), Johnny and Mavis (hotel transylvania) , Darwin and Carrie (the amazing world of gumball), Jack and Sally (Nightmare before Christmas), and Blue and Jewel (Rio) *im ignoring the Rio 2*

It took me awhile for a perfect Headcanon voice for her then but found the perfect one. That being Mae Whitman (voice actress of Amity from TOH, Katara from Avatar the last Airbender and alot more) shes one of my favorite voice actresses and she gets a good amount of pissed off moments for characters (perfect for Charlie)

Mention of past Drinking problem and Hinted PTSD and Trauma

-She knows alot about sewing. She got taught how to by the only foster sister she was close to (more on that in her origin)

-she doesn't smile with teeth showing alot before meeting Lionel and Susan. But when she dose slowly warm up to them (especially Susan) she has sharp teeth with a Gap between her upper Middle teeth (what it looks like below)

-how Charlie hides her Tail Ears ect is by these:

Ears gets tucked in hair good

Horns easily by hats

The tail and wings are tricky (it took me awhile to figure out those) Her Tail would easily hide in a long skirt/dress but in her main adventure look with the skirt, she basically sewn in a little compartment for her tail and shoves it in. She dose the same with the pants look.

With her wings, she binds those by wrapping cloth around it and tie it with rope carefully without damaging them.

(-i also like to add to the Susan x Charlie dynamic with Wade and Ember from Elemental and major along with Mavis and Johnny, Wall E and Eve)

-Demigirl and Bisexual

-will not hesitate to kick someone's ass if provoked

-Homegirl kicks like a fricking Mule

-before Meeting Susan and Lional, she had a slight Drinking problem. To basically make her ignore her past on most nights, she'd steal whatever there is thats in the forest. Her favorite was specifcally Vodka (dont worry she stopped after getting together with Susan she gets help)

-everytime she hears a gunshot she flinches. Reminds her of "that Night She became what she is today" (Forshadowing oooooo)

-sometimes rambles

-has a few scars. Some from nearly avoided gunshots, traps and the rest is from being clumsy and not looking where shes going

-remembers The Leeds/Her Adopted family fondly but regretfully and feels she was more of a burden and at fault for making them part of "The Jersey devil Legend".

-used to push people away so she doesn't get hurt and they dont get hurt too before getting close to Susan

-loved to dance when she was young. During her time in the forest she'd sometime spy on people dancing. If given the chance shes very lively and passionate about any kind of dancing style
