People who chew or breathe loudly should be publicly executed for the good of mankind.

As someone with misophonia and sensory issues I just cannot understand why or how people chew with their mouths open. Like…if you’ve got a medical reason like a stuffed nose or a preexisting condition you get a pass but otherwise WHY?! WHY NOT CLOSE YOUR MOUTH?! YOU ARE ACCOMPLISHING **NOTHING** BY HAVING YOUR MOUTH OPEN OTHER THAN MAKING ME SEE AND HEAR YOUR NASTY CHEWED UP FOOD!!!! You like the food, right? You know how to make sure you taste the food? KEEP. IT. IN. YOUR. CLOSED. MOUTH.

Do you find the sound of chewing disgusting?
Very
Somewhat
A little bit
Not really
Not at all
I'm deaf and can't hear this sound
how people expect me to react when they tell me "people cant help it :(" when i tell them i have a neurological disorder that triggers my fight flight or freeze and genuinely disables me when people are coughing: "oh no im so sorry!! i never realized that people have to cough because its a normal bodily function!! this stops my misophonia completely and i will never be triggered again 😀👍"
i cant help having a neurological disorder just as much as people cant help it when they cough, i just ask you to be more understanding and patient with me when im having a panic attack or a meltdown because people cant stop coughing. or when i get really irritated. its not hard to understand
Misophonia is one of my mental disorders and affects my life everyday and I decided to draw art I feel represents the affect if has on me. If you also have it just know you are not alone.
Misophonia (or selective sound sensitivity syndrome, sound-rage) is a disorder of decreased tolerance to specific sounds or their associated stimuli, or cues. These cues, known as "triggers", are experienced as unpleasant or distressing and tend to evoke strong negative emotional, physiological, and behavioral responses that are not seen in most other people. Misophonia and misophonic symptoms can adversely affect the ability to achieve life goals and enjoy social situations. It was first recognized in 2001, though it is still not in the DSM-5 or any similar manual. For this reason it has been called a "neglected disorder". (Wikipedia)
