Savor the savory-sweet taste of these distinctive brown butter miso blondies paired with the satisfying crunch of walnuts and chunks of dark chocolate. An ideal treat for any situation!
Ingredients: 1/2 cup 1 stick unsalted butter. 1/4 cup white miso paste. 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips or chunks. 1/2 cup chopped walnuts. 1/2 cup granulated sugar. 1/2 cup light brown sugar. 1 large egg. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
Instructions: Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and line an 8x8-inch 20x20 cm baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Continue cooking, stirring constantly, until it turns golden brown and develops a nutty aroma, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. In a separate large bowl, combine the browned butter, miso paste, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar. Mix until well combined. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract into the butter mixture until smooth. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the dark chocolate chips or chunks and chopped walnuts. Pour the blondie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Remove from the oven and let the blondies cool in the pan for about 15 minutes before using the parchment paper overhang to lift them out onto a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, cut into squares and enjoy your delicious Brown Butter Miso Walnut Chocolate Blondies!
