When Poe runs into Zorii Bliss on Kijimi, she says something about how she’s still mad at him for leaving her in the hole when he left to join the Resistance.

Hm.

The timeline in the TROS Visual Dictionary looks like this:

16 BSI - Poe runs away from home, joins Spice Runners 11 BSI - Returns home 7 BSI - Begins Academy training 4 BSI - Flies with the New Republic 3 BSI - Joins Resistance

So. 

First of all, Poe was with the Spice Runners for five years, starting at age 16. The page on the Spice Runners talks about the Kessel Run and the Maelstrom, so I’m guessing he was flying those in his teens. Because it also says that they didn’t kill him because he could fly. Okay. Fine. We all knew Poe wasn’t a criminal at heart.

So five years later, at 21, he goes back to Yavin 4. What does he do for the next four years??

Because he goes to the Academy four years later, 25 years old. Joins the New Republic when he’s 28. Joins Leia’s group when he’s 29.  We meet him in TFA at age 32.

So he left the Spice Runners at 21 and didn’t join the Resistance for another  eight years, but Zorii says something about how she’s mad at what he did to them when he left to join the Resistance.

Did he tell them that’s what he was going to do when he was 21? Only Leia hadn’t formed it yet, so no, that’s not possible. She formed the Resistance in 6 BSI, while Poe was at the Academy.  

What was Zorii so mad about? Did Poe go back to Kijimi at some point - maybe undercover, like in all the fanfic - and mess up? Or did he really screw them over when he left at 21? And they were still mad about it 10 years later? And for some reason they thought he left them to join a group that didn’t exist yet?

Or, did the scriptwriters and the Visual Dictionary not exchange notes on Zorii Bliss, Poe Dameron, and this strange new chapter in his life? Which is sad, because there was already tons of EU out there setting Poe’s timeline with the New Republic Navy and exactly how he left to join the Resistance. So no, he didn’t leave the Spice Runners to join the Resistance. Not even close. I have the book.

So she was drawing her Nephlihim OC in this badass sexy pose, and we were joking about how he seriously looked like a Final Fantasy character, and I suggested she prank her classmates by saying she “drew fanart of the just-announced FF VII remake character,” and see how long it takes for them to realize this is actually just her OC. 

So she did it. 

And for a few minutes, her friend actually legitimately believed they added a new character to Final Fantasy Seven, who was Sephiroth’s brother, and he was called “The Two-Winged Angel”. Dude actually went to look it up to confirm this shocking news, before realizing he was being punk’d.
