The Job || Erika&Giles
Giles LeBeau sat cozily in a low lit corner of his favorite coffee shop. Â One leg was crossed lazily over the other as he perused the newspaper that was half folded over his lap. Â His eyebrows were expressive, displaying his reactions to the article he was reading. Â A sip from his steaming coffee cup nearly made him look professional, and only a little dapper.
The bell of the shop rang with a knowing tone and his eyes darted up from the funnies. Â Erika King swept through the door. Â The corner of his mouth quirked up in an easy grin. Â He was actually happy to see her. Â She reminded him of himself. Â Snark and sass rolled into a spitfire that had the ability to control minds. Â He suddenly wondered if Remy had any siblings, but dismissed it as quickly as he thought it.
He leaned forward and folded the newspaper back into a manageable shape and plopped it onto the table his arm and coffee cup rested on.
"Well, Kiddo. Â Look who knows how to clean up!" He winked at her as she joined him at the small table. Â He picked the paper back up and began scanning another article. Â "You sure you're up for this?"
Seemingly his dark-seeded nature had finally caught up to him in New York. Â He had been approached with a job. Â And with Fury dead and gone he felt free to do as he utterly pleased. Â But he had been out of commission for longer than he would like to admit. Â He needed an accomplice.Â
And as such, Erika King was sitting across from him, talking over the morning paper and coffee. Â Maybe even a scone.
