1987, Jackson Hole, WyomingÂ
John Winchester was at an impasse, he had never seen everything like it.Â
He had come here in this lost town in the middle of Wyoming because of a lead, given to him by his friend, the local Sheriff, people were starting to go missing, and then found dead, that sort of thing. Bear attacks, officiallyâŠ. unofficially? Vampires, new ones, because of the mess they were leaving behind.Â
It didnât took him long to find the vamp either
Nothing out of the ordinary so far, though, he thought vampires were gone, almost extinct according to his friend, so he was pleased to help with that. to make it official
But everything really started turning strange when he was trailing that Vamp back to his nest, he would have taken them all down right then and there, he only had to wait until morning and wipe them out, but they didnât stay put, they were on the move, a very quick move, not only one, all of them. A single man leading them drew his attention, he was wearing an expensive looking suit, he drove a mercedes. He had to be a vampire, because of how he moved easily amongst them.
There, in the middle of a clearing, stood a big farmhouse.Â
He called for backup for his friend, but it was going to take a while, he was busy with official stuff. That put John in another bind, he couldnât face them all alone, not without Sheriff Jeffersons, or Daniel Elkins and his special gun. He stood there, waiting, in the woods, with the lights and the motor still turned off.Â
He would never admit it, he was ashamed, and to this day, it would be one of the things he regretted the most, he snoozed on the job. The sounds from the woods lulled him to sleep, and the House, even though had been boarded with a group of vampires, was quiet.
The rumble of the cars woke him up, not even an hour later.
He looked at the house some more, but everything was quiet, and in the dark, so he grabbed his gun with silver bullets, and his knife with a bottle of dead manâs blood, and he ventured towards the property.Â
It was a nice house, which surprised him, no gates or big fences around it though⊠it was all out in the openâŠ
âŠSo was the door, opened for everyone who wanted to go inside. He entered slowly, everything was in silence, quiet⊠except⊠from a horrible smell that lingered. He walked through the foyer and into the house, his gun up, the living room to his left was empty, so was the dining room to the right, and the kitchen in the far left⊠he ended up in a study, the smell was stronger there because⊠there it wasâŠÂ
A half charred body of a woman. Her face was still⊠untouched, which allowed him to go near, and check, she wasnât a vampire, he noticed as he lifted her top lip. But she was dead⊠very deadâŠa human woman, gone. A sense of dread and guilt was settling inside of him, but there was no time for that now, his senses were still much activated in hunter mode.
He looked around and found pictures hanging on the wall of the cozy room, of her and a man, and a baby, and some others of a little girl, the same child, who had clearly grown up⊠he looked for the rest of the rooms, the second floor, there was nobody there, the house was empty, he found the little girlâs room, but⊠not little girl anywhere.Â
The vamps didnât take anyone with them, so he could just assume⊠he couldnât assume anything
If she was simply a victim why didnât they just⊠fed off of her? Why leave her like this?, why go to the trouble of burning her? This seemed personal.
He came back to the study, to see if he had missed something, thinking about calling the police⊠his friend.Â
He looked back at the woman, sadly. But this time, what also drew his attention is that only her body was burned⊠not the floor, not the carpet, nor did he see any accelerants around, it looked like a supernatural affair, aside from the vampire part⊠but what he did see, is that when he moved the carpet to look at it more closely⊠There were marks on the wooden floor.
He looked up to the big bookcase above him, and figure it out
He moved it with difficulty⊠but it yielded⊠and behind it, he found an iron doorâŠ
This wasnât a good sign⊠Iron was known to stop a plethora of monsters and creatures
He opened the steel doors with a grunt and all of his force, wondering how that frail looking woman could have moved this on her own. He expected to find some sort of weapon, or beast, or an undiscovered creature ready to jump him, but instead, he gasped, opening his eyes wide and shaking with surprise⊠when he found that he least expected.Â
His legs shook with uncertainty and his eyes shined with unshed tears when he saw a little girl curled up in the corner of the safe space, she looked up at him with eyes filled with tears, she couldnât have been older than 7, she was the one from the pictures, doe eyes and chubby cheeks, lips in the form of a wobbly poutÂ
âWhere's my mommy?â she criedÂ
âSweetheart, are you ok?â he asked, and she just nodded. He didnât know what to do, she⊠this⊠little girl, was inside an Iron box, this was no coincidence, she could be this supernatural being, she could beâŠÂ
âMy mommyâ she cried again, but John didnât have the heart to tell her her mother was gone, but wise beyond her years, the girl seemed to notice his sadness. âOhâ she whined, dropping some more tears down her chubby cheeks. Against everything he knew, against everything he believed in⊠he lowered his guard
âCÂŽmereâ he called, opening his arms and without even thinking, she jumped in between them, hugging him tightly, curling up against his chest. His body seemed to be working of his own accord, because he could have never done that under different circumstances, this little girl⊠was something elseâŠ
âMâscaredâ she whined. He shushed her, caressing her hair
âItâs ok little oneâ , he hushed softly, âiâm going to get you out of here, alright?â
He didnât know why, or how, knowing the context in which he found her he could bet that she was also a supernatural being, but even against his hunter nature, he hugged that kid against his chest, drawn to her like he had ever been drawn to anything else. With his fingers crossed, at least metaphorically, he exited the iron room, and the girl only seemed to hang onto him more tightly. He made sure to hide the little oneâs face against his chest, so she wouldnât look at the scene in the study.
âWhereâs your daddy?â, he asked softly
âHe went awayâ, she said, âmommy said he went to heavenâ. she said so innocently, it broke his heart
Well, fuck
He couldnât leave her, not here, but he didnât know what to do⊠he could call the police⊠but⊠they would ask questions, and leaving her here was out of the question, she was just a child.
If she was a supernatural being, he didnât know what she was, there was still a small chance she was a normal kid There was a bigger chance her family knew about the supernatural, judging by the Iron box, it would have made sense if her mother was, and this turned out to be personal for the vampires to come after her.Â
There were so many theories working in Johnâs mind right now.
âDo you have any family, darling?â, he asked, as he took her out of the house. She shook her head. But now, that wasnât much to go on, she could not know, she was still little.
He walked back to the Impala, and buckled her in in the copilot seat. Then, he called the Sheriff back, asking him to send people to the house, and asking him about information on the family. He was asked to keep the girl with him until the next morning, from this time to tomorrow, so they could gather information, if there was any, about her family.
John, after hanging up with Henry, he climbed to the pilot seat. He didnât even realize, but he was shaking, his hands trembling as he grabbed the steering wheel, and started the car. He looked to the side, to the little girl, and then to the other side, to the door, and then back at the road.
He had stashed in his car holy water, salt, copper, anything, all sorts of weapons for all sorts of monsters, he eyed her back, carefully.Â
She was just trying to look at the road over the tall board of the car. She was still sniffing, her eyes big with tears, he made his heart sink. The little girl just lost her mom, she probably didnât have anyone else.
âHow old are you?â, he asked, the girl just looked at him
âSixâ, she answered simply, and then she just kept looking at the road in the dark, lighted up by the yellow lights of the Impala.
He stopped by the local diner, and bought her dinner. Also, he bought a couple of burgers for his sons, who were waiting for him back at the motel. He insisted she stayed in the car, and before he gave her the food, he sneaked holy water in her strawberry milkshake.Â
John watched her eat a burger, fries and sip on the strawberry milkshake, no reaction. So, demonic creatures were discarded.Â
He needed to get back to his sons. His mind was saying that this was a mistake, taking this girl with him, however⊠he couldnât leave her. He didnât even understand it himself, he couldnât bring himself to abandon the girl to the authorities⊠At least until tomorrow
He came back to the motel were his sons were waiting for him, the trembling girl holding onto his hand
âWho are you?â, asked Dean, frowning at the little girl
âIâm (y/n)â, she said softly, Dean seemed to⊠be content by now⊠going back to watch TV, and Sam was⊠didnât understand much of what was going on. He was only four. The girl looked back at him.
âThose are my sons, Dean, and Samâ, he introduced, and the little girl just smiled and nodded
Was he just going to⊠keep this kid?Â
Dean seemed pleased as he let her give them the burgers and fries, and he watched them from the corner, sipping a beer as they talked and then curled up together and falling asleep on the bed. She seemed.. normal⊠she didnât flinch when he slipped holy water into her milkshake, she ate normally, she looked normal⊠was she a hunterâs kid? there was a still very real chance she was just a child.Â
The very next day, he was called into the Sheriff office, with not very happy news. There was no record of family, her grandparents on both sides were gone, her parents didnât have any siblings, so, no uncles or auntsâŠÂ
âI received a call nonethelessâ, he said shortly, âsome relatives asking about the girlâ
âCan you corroborate?â, he asked then
âItâs hard, they are her motherâs cousins or something, but hey⊠this is good news, she is just a little girl, that poor woman was just⊠in the wrong place at the wrong timeâ, he said simply
âAt her house?â, he said, he should be relieved, the case was closed, but he wasnât, âthe vamps wanted the girl, the mother hid her, she⊠is different, she has to beâŠâ
âI donât know what to tell you, there is a birth certificate of herâ, he said, sliding it over the table, âa very real and corroborated birth certificate, from Wyomingâ, he said, âthe story of her parents check out tooâ
âWhat about the relatives?â, he asked, checking the document, a normal name, a normal date, nothing out of the ordinary.
âThey are on their way, should be here in a couple of hoursâ, he said simply. Not knowing what his friend was truly thinking. âWhy donât you take the kids for a while until this family can come and pick her up?â, he offered with a shy smile. John grunted, not liking where this was going. But he returned to his kids.Â
Three kids ate more than a group of piranhas, John thought as he took them for pizza. Wyoming was a nice place, he thought, looking at the beautiful snowy mountains, the green pastures all around, the beautiful valley, then he looked at his kids, eating happily. The girl had this sad look on her face, but she seemed content.Â
Time went by quickly, and soon, he was back at the police station, when he parked the car, he saw a mini-van parked outside, a pretty picture, he thought. His friend was speaking to a couple, then he gestured to the car where they were.Â
John excited the car, his sons stood inside, only taking the little girl
âWho are they?â. She asked, looking at the couple, grabbing onto his hand tightly.Â
âYou donât know them sweety?â, John asked, she shook her headÂ
âThere you are!â, shrieked the extremely happy woman, she looked nice enough. But (y/n) hid behind John.Â
âI donât know you!â, she accused
âIâm your aunt sweetyâ, she said through gritted teeth. John looked back at the car, where Sam and Dean were waiting, they did not seem impressed, their hands on the window of the impala, watching the scene.Â
John turned to meet the couple, who were trying to coax the little girl from going with them
âLeave me alone!â, she screamed
âDonât be a brat now, we are taking you to your new homeâ, said the man, again, this couple looks like a picture perfect pair, like they are just coming out of a Benetton catalog⊠but something was off about them. âwe have your things from your house, your favorite blanket, your clothesâ, but she only shrieked in responseÂ
Sheriff Jefferson tried to calm them down, both parties, hands in the air and a soft smile on his face
âNow now, Petersons, why donât we go inside and start some paperwork?â, he said, trying to invite the couple in
âWho are you? Why do you have our niece?â, the unknown man started attacking John this time.Â
âShe is a collaboratorâ, explained the Sheriff, âpleaseâ, he said standing between the couple and John and the girl, pointing towards the building, the little girl was invited to follow, but she didnât want to go.Â
He felt (y/n)Â grab onto his jeans tightly, with too much strength for a little girl.Â
âI donât want to go with themâ, she said shakily
âSweety, they are your familyâ, he said gently, but she shook her head
âI donât have a family!â, they might be estranged, but he couldnât take her word for it, could he?
It took him a while, but he finally convinced her, he even had to go inside with her, but after he made her enter the office with the âPetersonsâ, he managed to sneak away, out of the office, and out of the station.
He should be relieved, he though, as he walked back to his car, he couldnât keep her like she was some sort of puppy, he already had two kids, he couldn't possibly handle one more, he was on a path of revenge, and he was just started, getting good at it⊠only four years on the road⊠he couldnât take on one more, he just couldnât⊠he got into his car, and with a last look at the station, he turned around on his car and started to drive away
His boys said nothing, they only looked at him.Â
âAre we leaving (y/n)?â, Dean asked
âShe is with her family nowâ, he said simply, but not convinced.Â
He tried to get his mind on the road ahead of him, he already had a lead on a new case, but he felt the intense gaze of his children on him, and when he looked at the rearview mirror, the station seemed to be staring back at him, the van⊠it was so weirdâŠ
âGod dammitâ, he muttered under his breath, turning the car around. That seemed to please them. The Impala brake in front of the building, and he got out of the car in a jump
He couldnât just leave.Â
And he was going to be so glad he didnât.Â
He heard a commotion inside the station, shouting, people screaming.Â
They were not a Benetton catalog couple after all
Fangs were drawn.
Vampires
There were only two, against John, a Sheriff and his apprentice. (y/n) was curled up against a corner in the office, screaming, scared out of her life, John had a bitter flashback from when he first found her, inside that Iron safe space.Â
They finished the vamps without much effort, and soon (y/n) had her small arms around Johnâs neck, not wanting to let go.Â
âTake the girl and goâ, Sheriff Jefferson said, âdonât lose herâ, John nodded, grabbed the bag âPetersonsâ had made her, and he also grabbed her documents the sheriff had gathered, put it in the impala next to his small arsenal, and then⊠he grabbed her and his kids and left right then and there, never looking back.
As he drove back to Bobbyâs, and despite everything that happened, he realized that he had no answers, only more questions. The alarm between hunters had been raised and some were going to show up to slay the vampires, but he couldnât be the one to do the work
He had a more important job at the moment. He thought, looking back at (y/n) chatting with Sam about their favorite animal they saw in a book.Â
He had no answers about her, only more questionsÂ
âSo Vampires gathered to slaughter a womanâ resumed Bobby, as he met with John and his other good friend.Â
âIt's like that woman was their common enemyâ he told them, looking out the window how the mysterious girl played with his sons, âThey didnât eat her or mangled her, they⊠I didnât get to see but when I reached the house I saw her body cremated, like she had been burn up in flamesâ
âSo she is another kind of monsterâ Bobbyâs best friend chipped in
âBut why would they team up like that?â Asked Bobby, but John didnât listen as he kept looking at the kids. Dean and Sam looked at the little girl and she seemed excited, her body language told him she wanted to show them something, they walked towards an old wooden pallet. And he gasped in surprise when the little girl drew a small flame off her hand and set the pallet on fire
âSHIT!â John screamed, jumping from his chair and running towards the backyard door
Bobby followed him close by to find the kids surprised at their new friendâs trick
âHow do you do that?â asked Sam, but John grabbed him and put him behind him to protect him just as he grabbed Dean. The little girl looked at them confused, like she did nothing wrong nor weird
âWhat are you?â asked John. She just looked back at them with her doe eyes
âI'm sorry!â, she said quickly, tears falling down her eyes
âWhat are you?â, he asked again, more calmlyÂ
âI donât know!â, she said, but he could tell she didnât know what to answer.Â
âDad? what are you doing?â, asked Dean, releasing himself from his fatherâs hold. Johnâs eyes were towards the girl who looked back at him crying
Could he have been so mistaken? Was she a dangerous monster?
âIâm sorry for doing thatâ, she said simply, âI didnât know that was importantâ, she explained, thinking this whole ordeal was because she set fire to a pile of useless wood
âHave you always been able to do that?â, he asked gently, more calmed, since she didnât seemed to present any danger.Â
âSet things on fire?â, she asked softly, âyesâ, was she the one that⊠no⊠that woman was her mother, how could she possibly have done that to her mother and then locked herself up in that box?
âYou canât do that anymoreâ, he said softly
âAlrightâ, she said softly, âIâm sorryâ
He watched wide-eyed how the kids just went back inside Bobbyâs house
He followed them back inside to an amazed Bobby and his friend. Was he insane for letting the girl near his sons? he was, but somehow, he wasnât able to separate him
âWhat monsters do we know that are harmless but can set things on fire?â, he asked out loudÂ
They raided the entirety of Bobbyâs library, he even called some people, but nothing seemed too believable.Â
âDoes she⊠feed? like other monsters?â, asked Bobby, already tiredÂ
âShe eats with the boysâ, John said, âand since the three days we have been with her she hasnât shown signs of wanting to⊠feed on something else, nor to be hungry for souls or human fleshâ, he said, looking back at the living room where his kids⊠Dean, Sam and the girl were curled up together like three cute kittens on the couch watching TV, âshe sleeps normally, I have watched them, there is nothing strange about thatâŠâ
âI seeâ, they both looked at the children again, what surprised John the most is that even Dean had taken to her, he, who didnât like anyone, nobody, was hugging her protectively against him. âShe is so⊠preciousâŠâ, even Bobby, it only took one look from the little girl for him to go to town to get the three of them ice cream, âwhat if she is like⊠a siren?â
âA Sirenâ, John muttered, unconvinced, they looked at her again, âshe doesnât look like a Siren to me, Bobby, neither has she tried to convince us to do suicidal or homicidal things, just get her ice creamâ, he said, âand sirens canât set things on fireâ
âAnother type of monster thenâ, he said. âa witchâ
âWitches arenât born, they are madeâ, he said simply, âshe is too youngâ. They kept reading, until Jim Murphy called them a couple of hours later, when the kids were asleep and they were deep in their fifth beerÂ
âA phoenixâ, muttered Bobby to John after he hang up, he didnât believe it himself
âApparently Phoenixes are hated by other monsters, they are very special creatures, immortals, they grow up like a normal beings and then when they reach a mature age they stay like thatâ Bobby read a book he didnât even realized he had, on mythical lore, he himself believed to be bullshit
âI thought they were mythical creatures, legendsâ John said unconvinced, âHow is sheâŠ?â, they looked at the kids, now sleeping on the ouchÂ
âI donât know manâ he answered, looking at the same scene as his friend, âBut, I believe that with ironâŠâ John turned to see Bobby with an iron knife in his hand. He grabbed his wrist and shook his head as a no
âWe shouldn't kill her, she is just a kidâ, he said softlyÂ
âA kid that could turn into a monsterâ responded Bobby.Â
âShe doesn't eat human flesh, she doesnât eat souls or haunt peopleâŠâ
âHe could set you, or the boys on fireâ, he said severely
âIâm not wasting an innocent child who just lost her familyâ, he said severelyÂ
âJohn, what are you doing?â, he asked
âI canât do it Bobbyâ, he said, his friend only nodded, and they kept reading, but no matter how much they read, they couldnât find a chapter on its book that spoke about how or if phoenixes could control their victims, they were no victims, except those who angered them and ended up burnedÂ
A few paragraphs, that is all there was. John didnât know if finally knowing what she was was any better, he only got more questions. But the fact that monsters hated phoenixes made a bit more sense about the vampires.Â
So life needed to go on, if John wasn't going to⊠âget ridâ of the girl, there was only one thing left to do.Â
John had another lead, another case, he needed to go on the road again, so the very next day, over breakfast with the kids, he broke the news.
âWe are leavingâ, he said gently, to see their reactions, the girlâs⊠wasnât good
âAre you leaving me too?â she asked, about to broke into tears
âI have to workâ he explained softly, Bobby grumbled something on the sort of âshe is not staying hereâ
âPlease donât leave me!â, she screeched, standing up, running around the table, hugging into his legs, âis it because I set that thing on fire? Please, I wonât do it again! Iâm sorry!â Johnâs jeans got wet with her tears, and he exchanged looks with Bobby
âI canât take her with me Bobbyâ he explained, they both looked at the little girl, looking back at them with wide eyes
âShe canât stayâŠâ Bobby said but not much convinced
âBobby, itâs just going to be for a little while, I can't take her with me and leaving her alone with the boys it's just⊠too riskyâ
âAnd leaving her with me?â
âJust donât upset herâŠor she is going to burn your house downâ he smiled apologetically. He then turned to the little girl, âSweetheartâ he greeted the little one, leaning in and kissing her forehead. âitâs just for a little whileâ
âBut I married Sammy, you canât take him,â she said, frowning. John chuckled
âWhat do you mean?â, he asked softly
âI married them because they asked meâ, said Dean, not impressed by the scene, eating his cereal
âDarling, I canât leave you alone with the children if I donât know you are not going to burn anythingâ, he said
âMy mommy used to put me glovesâ, she offered, âI wonât burn anything, I promiseâ
John and Bobby shared looks again. She was with them now, they couldnât abandon her, the only thing they could do⊠was to embrace her into their worldâŠ. and pray it didnât went poorlyÂ

You took your time reaching Bobbyâs, in fact, you had a few stops along the wayâŠ
âDO IT (Y/N)! DO IT!â, screamed Dean, swinging a old iron rod from the fireplace all over
You grabbed the old creepy doll and set on fire, it burned like paper, but Dean was pushed across the room
âIT DIDNâT WORK!â, you screamed, âAH!â, you couldnât see it, but a big force pushed you and threw you over the room as well, crashing against an old closet with glass in its doors
It hurt, but you were fine, it still took your breath away anyways
âDammit!â, you cursed.
âIf it's not the freaking doll what is it?â, asked Dean, grabbing the Iron rod again, the man showed itself in front of Dean again, and he swung at it, making him disappear, âDad?â, he asked
âIâm digging!â, he said through the phone
âWe need to get out of here!â, you said, but the ghost had other plans as you were walking by a window, the son of a bitch pushed you through it. you landed heavily on the grass, trying to take a breath
âYou alright?â, you heard Dean ask from the house
âYes!â, you moaned, âjust sick of being thrown aroundâ, you whined, you saw John on the other side of the garden, where the creepy private cemetery stood, you ran towards him, took the shovel from him and started digging, faster, incredibly fasterÂ
âIâm going to help Dean!â, he said, running towards the house, his shotgun with salt cartridges in it. You stopped when you heard a noise, like something was amongst the trees, but no matter how much you tried to look, you couldnât see anything. You heard gunshots from the house, so you didnât care anymore, you digged until you found the coffin, and you ripped the door away, you finally found the bones of the patriarch of the family that had been brutally murdered, you searched in your person but you didnât have a lighter, then you remembered that it was a force of habit because John insisted you do it too in case another person was lurking, but you had no time for that now. Flames flew out of your hand, setting the entire coffin and the skeleton inside it aflame.
âYeah!â, you heard Dean mutter, you laughed, coming out of the hole you had dug yourself in. âThatâs what Iâm talking aboutâ, it had been fun, these two interior designers had purchased the palace to renovate it, not scared at all by the history, and well, one had lost an arm because of a self-working saw, and⊠well⊠they were far gone by now but at least nobody else was going to be dismembered.Â
You heard again that sound from the woods, like someone or something, was lurking around, but again you saw nothing, it was probably the wind, it was getting chilly anyways.
The boys came out of the house, and you smiled widely at them
âYou didnât use the lighter!â, itâs the first thing John said, your owned
âI didnât have it, it must have fallen when the ghost was throwing me around or somethingâ, you said apologetically, he had a disapproving look on his face but he didnât say anything else.Â
You ended up in the local bar next to the motel. Dean was talking and about to close the deal with the bartender, you you sat there, in a really uncomfortable silence with John, whose humor seemed to be in the gutter
Once you checked John wasnât looking at you, you looked around to find who was making you feel watched, but you didnât see anyone. Your instincts were heightened, but you tried to calm down, it was the high of the hunt, it had happened before.
âIâm going to bedâ, you whispered, raising from the table, you drank the last of your beer, John only nodded. Your stomach turned when you saw him eyeing a woman in a leather jacket across the bar.
You walked alone back to the motel, you were exhausted, but again, you felt a looming presence behind you, but you turned and saw nothing. You kept walking, you heard footsteps, but there was nobody there. Done with it, in a second you were in front of the door of the motel. You entered, feeling spooked, but again, the high of the hunt was powerful, and ghosts particularly disturbed you, because you couldnât fight back much, so, you took advantage of the fact that both boys were out, to take a long shower. That eased your nerves for a bit, you were still alone when you exited the bathroom.
Was John angry at you?
Why could he barely look at you?
But you appreciated the solitude, even though thinking about John and Dean âgetting itâ with some random women made your stomach crawl. You felt lonely, so you turned on the TV as you dried your hair.Â
You noticed that the blinds were a bit ajar, so you closed them completely, still feeling on edge.Â
You snuck onto the bed and even though it was a bit⊠unreliable, you did felt better, you cuddled within yourself, and focused on the soap opera that was playing on the TV. It was a classic one, you enjoyed it a lot. You let your mind wonder how life was going to be for you if you had a group of six friends and you lived in New York and you had a normal job.
You woke when you heard someone trying to open the door, but not like they forgot the key, that was the unmistakable sound of someone with stealing tools trying to open the door. You sat on the bed, you looked at your duffel on the floor, you lounged for it elegantly, and silently, in a second you had your knife in your hand, ready to launch at whoever was at the door, but the sound stopped, and you heard footsteps walking away. Then you heard someone else coming in, heavy boots, just by the sounds you immediately recognized John, you left your knife in the duffel, and hid back in the bed
If he didnât see anyone, you probably imagined the whole thing up. You were still nervous.Â
You cuddled in the bed again, pretending to be asleep, John entered heavily, and by the pace on his steps you could tell that he drank⊠quite a lot. You felt his eyes on you, but you just kept your eyes closed, and your breathing even, you heard him sigh, and then he took out his clothes and landed on the other bed two feet from you.Â
âWhat a bunch of garbageâ, you heard him mumble, and he turned off the TV.
The very next morning you woke up before everyone else, Dean was sleeping and snoring a bit, so you could tell that he had a few too, so to punish them you went to have breakfast at a waffle house all by yourself. Oh how you loved waffles
You had a waffle maker in your car, the only âhomyâ thing you owned, but never got to use it. You purchased the local newspaper, it was the best source of information to find new cases. But as you were walking, that feeling started again, and this time, when you turned inhumanly quickly, you could see a shadow hiding in the corner of the building
Maybe you werenât imagining it after all.
It was all too much coincidence. And if anything you had learned in your line of work, is that coincidences didnât exist.
So you kept walking to the waffle house, and you sat on a table in the corner by the window, which allowed you to see the whole dining room, and the outside too. You pretended to read the newspaper, well, you actually did, while you looked around. Whoever it was, it was good
Vamp? It was broad daylight, and it was fall but still, it was pretty sunny. Ghost? your car wasnât moving⊠something else? You had come to realize, with experience, that you were never the first target of monsters, it was always Dean or John, they could sense that you werenât a human, so, it was unlikely⊠Although Vamp did sound alright, they catch a scent and donât let go, maybe it was vendetta for what happened a month ago when you returned.
But no matter how much you looked, you couldnât find anybody looking suspiciously at you.Â
You wanted to believe that you werenât losing your mind.
But when were you ever wrong? so far⊠so goodâŠ
You enjoyed your breakfast, trying to put everything in the back of your mind, nobody was going to hurt you in a diner, nobody was going to hurt you on the street, but still, you kept one eye open. It was the best breakfast you had in a while, you believed, they served whipped cream at the side with some berries and a good syrup.Â
So good you ordered two to go
And with the newspaper under your arm and the orders in your hand, you walked back to the motel
âBrought breakfastâ, you announced, making sure you made a noisy entrance, both men were sitting in opposite beds, in their underwearâŠ
âEarly birdâ, Dean was⊠popular with his bird puns
âBest waffles I had in a whileâ, you said happily
âMarry meâ, he begged, you just stick your tongue out, âthank you babyâ
You dropped your order on the small table and they went at it with gusto. While you thought about ways to tell them what you believedÂ
Dean realized you wanted to tell them something in a second, looking at you and frowning
âI need to say somethingâ, you clarified, both stopped eating and looked at you
âWhat?â, asked John
âWhat Iâm gonna sayâŠâ, you started, rubbing your chin, between your thumb and index fingers, â... I justâŠâ
âDo itâ, encouraged Dean, his patience already going thin
âI think⊠Iâm being huntedâ, you said slowly
âWHAT?â, asked Dean, John just frowned, âwait, like⊠hunted⊠or haunted?â
âHuntedâ, you confirmed, âI feel watched all the time and, last night I swear I heard someone trying to get into the roomâ
âIt was dadâ, said Dean, you shook your head
âIt was before, this person tried to pick the lock, then he heard john and left, a hunterâ
âHow do you know is a hunter? maybe it's some creepâ, said Dean, you shook your head
âI thought about it, I donât knowâŠâ
âMaybe it is some creepâ, said John, you shook your head again
âI think is better we apply some cautionâ, you said
âWe are moving todayâ, muttered John
âI knowâ, you answered, âlet's split for a while, move towns, Iâll do the behind the scenes research and Iâll get another roomâ
âYou want to use yourself as bait?â, muttered Dean
âYeah, why not?â, you said
âI donât know⊠what if they manage to gank you?â, he said
âThey wonâtâ, you said quickly
âAre you sure?â, asked John, and you nodded
âGo before me, Iâll join youâ, yu said with certainty
âI wonât leave you aloneâ, muttered Dean
âWhat could ever happen to me?â, you asked lightly
He wasnât convinced, he looked back at you when he was getting on the Impala, without you, but he did, you only nodded at him, knowing that everything was going to be alright.
You saw them leave, and then you returned to the room and grabbed your things, and then, you came back down towards your Firebird, when you touched the handle to open the door, something inside it burned your hand.
You hissed, checking your hand, it looked burned.
Iron
âWhatâŠ?â, you felt a prick in your neck, when you took it out, it was like a dart, with poison on it⊠you took it out, it stung, but you didn't feel anything, it was a red liquid⊠you only had to smell it a bit to realize
âDead manâs bloodâ, you whispered
But the next thing it came wasnât a dart, it was a bulletâŠÂ
In your dreams, you werenât fighting against somebody, but rather⊠a somethingâŠ. the firstÂ
You were floating, you werenât conscious enough to do something about you just, were floating in space. But something kept you, a prick, in the back of your neck, between your scapulas, you knewâŠ
You tried to expelled it
You felt like you couldnât move with it thereÂ
You pushed against it, you used your hands, you wanted it out, this thing⊠this thing is tormenting you. you pushed and you pushed until you succeeded, alienating this⊠thing⊠this small metal thing away from the perfect blank space you had made for yourselfÂ
But when the thing was out, you couldnât relax into the pleasure of the blank space you were swimming in, you couldn'tâŠ.
You now had strings
Tieying you together, you couldnât moveâŠ
Then you felt the restraint, against your hands, your legs, you couldnât move.
You painfully came together, your eyelids were heavy
âDean?â, it was the first thing that came to mind, the only one you wanted to be next to.
But he wasnât there
The pain of the restraints crept over your arms and legs, and when you opened your eyes suddenly, you werenât in a cozy motel room, you werenât inside the impala, you werenât with Dean or John
You stood alone
Tied to a chair, in an old, and by the looks of it, abandoned, warehouse
âDean isnât hereâ, you heard, you were already tired by the situation, by the fact you barely slept, by the whole of it. In front of you appeared a man, young, strong built, dark skin and crazy eyes really. He looked like a hunter, well, only one of them could have taken you down like that. You moved and you felt something falling from your head to the floor, a metallic sound, you peeked⊠It was the bulletÂ
All of it was real
âWhat?â, you growl, wanting to get this over with. You tried to move, but then is when you realized⊠the stiffness of your muscles, and the burn of Iron in your wrists
âIâve been following for a whileâ, he muttered
âYou are Gordon, right?â, you asked, âyou hunted with John weeks agoâ, now you understood why he didn't let Dean and you join him
âYeah, but he forgot to mention, he had a monstrosity with himâ, you frowned
âWhat?â, you asked
âAt first I thought you were a vamp, you are fast and strong, but no⊠you are something elseâ, you frowned, âmind control? Is that why you are with the Winchesters?â
âI havenât controlled anyone, never in my lifeâ, you said quickly, you squirmed, âlet me go, and we can put this behind usâ, you offered
âI eliminated a nest of vampires a while ago, they had pictures of you, of places youâve beenâ, he continued, âthey wanted to hunt you down, I had convinced myselfâŠâ
âYeah, you look like you convince yourself of many thingsâ, he frowned, he leaned in until your faces were on the same lever
âYou were just a blood sucking traitorâ
âGuess againâ, you whispered. He seemed already angry. He seemed demented thatâs what he looked like
âNo demon, shapeshifter, or skin crawlerâŠâ
âIs this going to take long? I have places to beâŠâ, you muttered, he smiled, and then he took out his knife, made of iron.
*WARNING, TORTURE
He pressed it against your cheek
You whined in pain when it burnedÂ
âWhy?â, you asked
âI know what you areâ, he muttered
âDo you?â, you asked back, âdo you really?â
âHave my theoriesâ, he said, âit took me a while, thoughâ
âIf you know what I am, you do realize, you are way all over your headâ
âWho is in chains right now?â, he asked, you started panicked, you couldnât break free, these werenât those cuffs you could get out of if you dislocated your thumb, these were the ones that were thick, the size of your wrists, the old one
âWhy are you doing this?â, you asked calmly, âIâve never done anything to youâ
âYou are a monsterâ, he said, âyou are a supernatural being, and Iâm a hunter, I hunt supernatural beings, to clean this earth from you and your kindâ
âI have never harmed a human beingâ, you said through gritted teeth, âI donât feed on anything, or anyoneâŠâ
âIt doesnât matterâ, he muttered, âyou will eventuallyâ, you then realized there was a table, full of objects and things that could harm all sorts of creatures, there was blood, silver, bullets, salt, all of it.
âYou donât know how to end me, do you?â, you asked, he only chuckled
âI have time, and I have meansâ, he said simply, he grabbed a silver knife, âwould this do the trick?â, he asked, in a swift movement, he caressed you with it on your cheek, this knife did nothing, it tickled, you didnât say it though, he then slice it, you tried not to wince, it still stung, but once the blade left your skin, it began healing, burning the wound away until there was nothing left.
âWhat about this?â, he grabbed the jar filled with dead manâs blood, and he made you swallow it.
You choked on it, the disgusting taste and smell making you wretch, but again it didnât kill you
âThatâs disgusting!â, you garbled, spitting all the blood you could away, âyou are sick you know that?â, he did not seemed pleased
âI already know bullets donât workâ, he muttered, âfor longâ
âYou shot me in the back of my headâ, you said slowly, âyou try to blood-board me, and you are knifing me up real niceâŠâ, you said slowly, âlet me go before there is no turning backâ, you said angrily, and you didnât meant for when you were dead, you meant until you get really, really angry.
âIron works thoughâ, he said, unimpressed. You squirmed when you saw the blade coming, he started near your shoulder, towards your neck, slicing your shirt, making your skin burn.Â
You stiffened a scream, you couldnât give him the satisfaction, this guy was not only trying to do âthe right thingâ this dude was a psychopath
A phone, your phone, started ringing. Since you took that bullet to the moment you woke up again it had been a couple of hours, quite a few actually, the broken window allowed you to see it was already late afternoon.
âAh look, itâs Winchesterâ, he said teasing you with your own phone, he picked up, âHello Johnâ, he said into the phone, he put it on speaker, âIâm with your girl hereâ
âLeave her alone Gordonâ, he said, short and sweet, âyou donât want to do thisâ, Gordon only hummedÂ
âI think I do, thatâs my job John, getting rid of monstersâ, he said, he was truly, insane
âShe is not one of themâ, he said firmly, âlet her go Gordon, or I swearâŠâ
âShe is got you all wrapped upâ, he said, unconvinced, he had his iron knife, he pressed it against your cheek and it burned like hell, but you tried to stifle the whine that wanted to come out, âIâm going to release you from herâ, he said, âyou will thank meâ, he pressed the knife deeper, and then, with a single movement, he stabbed you on the side
You had never felt a pain like this before, you screamed, a gut wrenching shriek
You heard your name, John was screaming into the phone, desperatelyÂ
âJohnâ, you whined, âpleaseâ, he left the knife imbedded into your skin, so it wouldnât heal
âYou are tough to crack, Iâll give you thatâ, he said, cutting the line, âbut you will die, one way or anotherâŠâ
âTOUCH ME AGAIN⊠AND THEYâRE GONNA NEED A VACUUM CLEANER TO GRAB YOU FROM THE FLOOR!â, you threatened, âYOU PSYCHOTIC SON OF A BITCHâ, you threatenedÂ
âAh, there it isâ, he said with a sick smile and those crazy eyes of his, âthe monstrosityâ
âFUCK YOU!â, you scream, blood coming out of your mouth, the blade in your side sending ripples of pain all through you, came and went in waves, and the pain was so sharp you were becoming dizzy. âAAAAHHHH!â, he cut you again above your collarbones, âyou say you are doing a service, but you are enjoying this are you? wackoâ, you cursed, he returned to the table.
âAre there more of you?â
âNoâ, another cut, making you whine, âNot that I know of!â, you said truthfully, but he wasnât contentedÂ
He was at it for hours
Hours
He tried everything he had on the table, all things he could have used for other supernatural beings. Whatever he made you ingest didnât work, whenever he cut you, you healed, the only thing that worked was Iron, but he seemed pleased with his little discoveries.
You eyed the long knives at the end of the table, he was working his way up.
Would you die? if he chopped your head off?
Could you grow another? You were sure it was going to take you a few days or weeks to do so, once, by accident, you had closed a door a bit too harshly and you trapped your own finger. It hurt like hell, but in a few hours, it had grown again, your finger seemed to melt, to burn, and soon it was healed again
Or from your head grows another body? that could take a month, you guessedâŠÂ
The pain was really making you dizzy, when he turned he had some sort of dagger on his hand with blood on it
âThis is John Winchesterâs bloodâ, he muttered, âI know phoenixes mate for lifeâŠâ
âSo?â, you asked, âhe isnât my mateâ, you said quicklyÂ
âIâm saving this for laterâ, he said, pleased with himself. You squirmed and moved, but you couldnât release yourself, and now⊠you were breaking, now you were truly thinking he might have cracked the code. All creatures, no matter how âinmortalâ they believed to be, had a way to go, this might be yours.
Your mind seemed to drift off of the scene, it felt heavy, it fell back, you looked up at the ceiling, but you couldnât really see it. Images started bombarding your mind, so many, and in so quick succession, what remained was an image of the phoenix ring, then a truck, with a strange symbol on it, you saw a small city in Italy, then you saw John, then, it was you, arms wide open, you were burning and then it all felt blank
You were truly losing it, you believedÂ
When you came back, leaning forwards, Gordon seemed to be even more angry
You felt the knife doing more damage, every time you moved, every time you took a breath. You wished you had paid attention in highschool, you would know what it's scratching inside of you.Â
Weirdly, the fact that the knife was still in you is what had allowed you not to die -or faint- for loss of blood, but it just seemed it was a slow way of torture.Â
You heard the tires of a car, breaking outside, he stopped in a second, looking scared
He took a gun out of the back of his pants, and ran towards the entrance, you couldnât even keep your eyes open, blood dripped from your mouth, and⊠you drifted out a bit.Â
You heard gunshots, people screaming, exchanging insults, but everything was like you were underwater
That is when the shivers starting, you felt so weak, you were trembling
â(Y/N)!â, you must be daydreaming, because soon Dean was in front of you, grabbing you by the shoulders, âI canât believe this!â, his voice seemed broken, âwhat happened?â, you shook your head, you could barely speak, âWhy isnât it healing?â, he asked, alarmed, looking at your cuts
âI-ironâ, you managed to bumble, feeling a metallic taste in your mouth. He hissed when he saw the knife. Luckily for you, it was more like a dagger, short, anyways.
âYou need to get to the hospitalâ, he said quickly, you shook your head, he looked back at the table, found the keys, ran back and uncuffed you
â(Y/N) Iâm so sorryâ, he whined
âIt wasnât your faultâ, you whispered
He grabbed you gently, and took you out of the warehouse, the knife still sticking out of you
âHow did you find me?â, you asked, but there was no answer
âDad she is in bad shapeâ, said Dean, âDonât know what to doâ, you didnât see Gordon anywhere, it was already dark, only the lights from the cars lighting up the scene
John came close to you, encased your face with his big hands, looking down at you.
âYou're going to be fine dollâ, he promised, âletâs take her to the hospitalâ, you whined a no, but John took you from Dean, and put you inside the Impala, Dean was driving your car right behind you.
âTheyâre gonna call the copsâ, you manage to whisper
âNo where we are taking youâ, he said gently, he started driving crazy fast, you could tell he was trying to keep it cool, but you could see the white on his knuckles from gripping the wheel too hard
âJohn?â, you asked, as your vision became blurry, âI donât feel wellâ
âHang in there doll, alright? we are getting you some helpâ
âIâm gonna die or somethingâ, you could feel your heart beating in your ears, strongly, and quickly. You closed your eyes
âNo no no noâ, he said quickly, âdonât you dare fall asleep on me dollâ
âSorryâ, you mumbled, but you did. You fell asleep
When you came to your senses, it was because of an intense pain on your side. You whined weakly, trying to pull away
âThey are patching you up dollâ, muttered John, âstay stillâ
âIt hurts, donât touch meâ
âHow is she still alive?â, you heard someone ask
âLong storyâ
âSheâll need a blood transfusionâ
âShe doesnât, just close that wound and clean the othersâ, said John firmly, but you didnât listen anymore, you lost consciousness again.
They put you on a wheelchair to take you out of the hospital, your side hurt like hell, but you were already feltÂ
âIâm sorryâ, you mumbled, when Dean tried to put you in the Impala
âFor what baby?â, he asked softly
âIâm sorryâ, you said again
âYou have nothing to be sorry for, alright?â, he closed the door gently and you heard them speaking
âDad I donât want to leave herâ, muttered Dean
âYouââll be right behind us Dean, donât be a bratâ.
You felt like you were turned into a pincushion, but, as the wounds were closed and bandaged, you felt your strength returning to you, your heart pumping more strongly, replenishing your blood inside of you.Â
But you were still shaking, like you were cold
John got inside the car, he didnât start right away. He called your name, but you barely register it, you just looked ahead, your body shaken by spasms
Your body was begging to shut down, to give you a break, you felt so tired, you just wanted to rest, to forget, to sleep, to wake up in another time, yesterday, or a year from now.
â... And Iâm sorryâ, that caught your attention, you had to put the entirety of your body to work to turn to look at John
âWhat?â, you asked
âI shouldnât have pushed you away, doll, because of me you got torturedâ, you had lost a chunk of this⊠confession? he was throwing your way, but still, you didnât have the mind to answer him
âItâs my faultâ, you said simply, and you cuddled against the door.
âNo itâs notâ, he said severely, your breath was shaky, but he took it as a sign to start the car and start driving it.Â
When your reached the motel, you were strong enough to open the door and walk out by yourself
The room luckily was on the first floor, John seemed hesitant, but opened the door, you entered slowly
You climbed on the bed that was furthest from the entrance, and then you cuddled on yourself, in a fetal position. The boys entered the room right behind you, Dean was on you in a second
âHey babyâ, he said calmly, touching your shoulder, touching your face, you didnât want anybody touching you, except for Dean, âtalk to meâ
âI just⊠need a minuteâ, you whimpered, you couldnât stop shaking, you didn't understand why, your wounds were mostly healed, it was like the nerve damage never did, your body was spasming, like in the heat of the pain.Â
He climbed on the bed behind
âIs this alright?â, he asked, you nodded, and he hugged you tightly
Summary: Itâs been a while since you had all been togetherÂ

Wordcount: 2,9 k
Notes: I re-wrote the first one, it was riddled with mistakes, like for real⊠I was so excited to post it that I didnât even check it, it has minor checks, the plot remains the exact same, only that I wrote it in parts, I had this trope since 2021, and I just⊠felt happy enough to post it, so, a rocky start, but here we are. Anyways, like I say, Iâll try to keep dates organized, but aside from that⊠iâm taking a free script to write this.Â
2003, Manning, Colorado
Much more vampires that they ever thought they would be.
John got a message from his friend Daniel Elkins, when he finally got to him⊠he was dead, and those who had killed them⊠well⊠letâs just say their track was very fresh
So being hunters, that is what they did, they tracked and found the nest, followed them back, for vengeance, and for the gun.
Dean was excited, he had never hunted vampires before.
He didnât know why though, he had hunted all kinds of monsters and creatures, but never vampires.
Why was that?
They never thought theyâd be outnumbered so greatly, they entered the nest at daylight, when it was going to be easier to⊠chop their heads off
It was easy for John and Dean to figure out their hierarchy, the leader was gone, so they took the second best thing as an insurance, his mate.
Threatening her with a long blade to the neck, they exited the shed where they were hiding at, and ânestingâ, the move was desperate, because they were, they needed the gun, and they needed to avenge Johnâs friend, that made them clumsy, too clumsy.
At the meeting point, there was more, oh more vampires
âWheres Kate?â, asked Luther, the leader of that family. He had not come here to play, and neither were the Winchesters. John grabbed her from the copilotâs seat, she was tied by a rope, cuts on her body, infecting her with dead manâs blood
âGot the colt?â, asked John, dangling the vamp in front of her mateÂ
Soon, the situation turned tense
âDonât hurt her againâ, growled Luther.Â
But Dean was in his macho stance again, slipping his knife over her collarbone, making her scream and hiss
âUps, sorryâ, mocked Dean, and Luther did not take this well.
Vampires were faster than he expected, soon Luther punched Dean in the face, sending him flying, falling over the gravel.Â
âDean!â, he was going to go to him, to his son, but now, the vamp had slipped free, and he stood alone in front of five vampiresÂ
He put his machete up.
Luthor came running towards him, ready to mangle the man to pieces, now, only one group could come out alive, but not both.
âI didn't want to do this!â, he assured him, as they both struggle hand on hand
âWhat? feeding on innocent people?â, mocked John, Luther overpowered him quickly, throwing him back, him falling against his car, âyou killed my friend!â
âHe was hardly innocent, he killed many of us beforeâ, he said simply, he was going to give him the gun and walk away, but now that Kate was safe again, he⊠thought again. Killing two hunters can be very beneficial to their survival.Â
He lunged at the oldest Winchester again, John grabbed his gun and shot them with silver bullets, but it didnât stop him. Luther grabbed him by his jacket, and then by the neck
âYou are not even worth to feed onâ, the vampire muttered, âIâm just gonna, snap your neckâ, John looked back at Dean, who was being beaten by three vampires, two grabbing onto him and Kate beating him up real nice
âI wouldnât do that if I were youâ, you grabbed onto his arm, twisting it off of Johnâs neck. The vampire looked back at you, surprise in his eyes
âWhat!?â, you threw him back tenfold as he did John, making fall pathetically on the gravelÂ
John didnât even take time to greet you, grabbing the machete and decapitating the one that was holding Dean, the other jumped away from you, gathering right in front of you, as you stood in front of the boys and towards the vampires. It was kind of a cool battle of some sorts.
âHow fast are these things?â, you asked out loud, one of them showed you their teeth in a hiss, clearly offended by the âthingâ part, she throw herself at you, with incredibly speed, for a human, you grabbed her by the neck, her arms trying to scratch you, ânot very, apparentlyâ, you said, you always wondered if you could smoke one of these things.
You felt it, the heat, coming from your chest and into your hand, she screeched, and, as others did before her, she burned, turning into ashes in your hand in barely seconds.
You dropped the skeleton and the dust, and then you looked in front of you, at the rest of the vampires who looked at the scene, completely terrified
Luther showed you his hands in surrender, grabbing on his jacket, the colt
âLeave it thereâ, asked John, and he did, leaving it slowly on the ground. You looked back at John, who seemed to be analyzing the situation at hand. He had never let you hunt vampires before, you had a clue why.
âHow you have grownâ, said Luther, you frowned, he still had his hands raised, âif itâs all the same to you⊠weâll be going nowâ, he turned walking back to his car, thinking this was over, oh how wrong this was.
Soon you were in front of him, he didnât even get to gasp, as you were frying him up real good
âYou bitch!â, screamed Kate, but is the last thing she said as Dean chopped her head off with one swift sing of his own machete.Â
You burned up one more while John and Dean finished off the last two, and⊠that was it.Â
â(y/n)â, you turned around to meet Dean, who was smiling at you. He wiped the blood of his face with a big grin
âHey boys, long time no seeâ, you said with a wide smile, John wiped his mouth, sweat and blood with his sleeve, and then smiledÂ
âTook you long enoughâ, he said. You only sighed, the day John Winchester was thankful itâll be the day the world ends
âWhere have you been?â, asked Dean, you only looked down at the fried skeletons
âTime to chat will be laterâ, said John, all business like always, âafter we clean this messâ, he said severely, and you discovered how easy it was⊠to come back, and fall back in line under John Winchesterâs command
you digged a shallow grave in the woods and you burned the rest of the corpses, and then you buried them, to make sure nobody would find them
It was always comical how the only thing it remained was the metal in their bodies, and since vampires were always leaning towards gothic⊠they were a lot of piercings on the ground
âI donât even wanna know where this wentâ, said Dean⊠grabbing onto a large one.
âThat is where Luther wasâ, you laughed, only imagining where he had that piercing, Dean hissed and dropped it to the ground, disgusted
âGrow upâ, growled John as he dragged the last one, âyou are in for a big time darlingâ, he said severelyÂ
Well, you left, and then Sam did, he wasnât happy, at least you didnât have such a responsibility towards him like his sons did, he understood you were looking for answers⊠but stillâŠ
24 hours earlier
Many, many things - and years- had occurred since John Winchester saved you from those Vampires, and protected you.Â
What led to his discovery of your nature⊠had been his own, and since then, you were discovering yourself, what you were, and what that meant, because, you barely remembered your mother, you didnât know where you came from, you didnât know the extent of what being a phoenix entailed, andâŠ
There is so many things you didnât know
You tried looking for answers, when you were old enough⊠but the questions piled up and remained unanswered. Between hunts you read what you found, and with the help of JOhnâs numerous friends, but the information kept repeating, and also⊠it kept being wrong, some said you ate human flesh, which you didnât, others, that you were a big red and gold bird, which you werenât⊠Some said that you could die but would come back from the ashes, and again. There was no such thing.
So, when you thought the boys were going to be fine, and you were old enough to get a passport, you traveled, for two years, far and wide, and still, you couldnât find another Phoenix, you couldnât find anything but legends and things you already knew⊠no matter who you spoke toâŠÂ
And then, as you were traveling through Shanghai, you realized⊠you were looking for what you already had⊠You were looking for answers, about what you were, but secretly, you also wanted to find⊠a family, you were yearning for it, someone who understands you, someone to guide you⊠and you didnât find it.
So maybe it was time for you to come home, because you did have one⊠they were only boys, men, actually, wore flannels and leather jackets and combat boots, and they were rough sons of bitches, you smiled as you grabbed an old book in mythology that was going to allow you to comprehend some marks in the great wall for later on your trip. As tourists were claiming they saw soldiers in its battlements and you wanted to check that out.
That is until⊠you got a text from Bobby.
Present
âI never understood why you never let me fight themâ, you said to John, as you took a sip of a beer in the local bar.
âWhat brings you back?â, he asked, not answering
âBobby texted me, said he hasnât heard from you in a while that you were tracking vampires, i guess⊠I just only needed one sign and that is all it tookâ, Dean looked at his father, âso you are back for good?â
âIf youâll have meâ, you teased with a smile, âis good to be backâ
âWell, canât say you are not appreciatedâ, he said lightly. He kept looking at you, concerned washing over his features.
It was weird, to see them and not see Sam right by their side, but you couldnât blame him, you were actually happy, if not proud of him for following his dreams.Â
âThose were so sweet moves out thereâ, said Dean, actually, the mood between the three of you had grown a bit tense
âThanks, and, donât think I have been slacking for the past two years, you know?â, you said with a renewed spirit, âyouâd think that if you donât look for it, you could live a normal life, ut no, since I was deep in research, I kept getting myself in all the supernatural, all over Europe and Asiaâ, you said, âand actuallyâŠâ
âItâs lateâ, John cut you, âIâm gonna goâ
âDadâ, Dean said
âIâll wait for the two of you back in the roomâ, he said and left, you shared concerned looks with Dean
âDid I break the old manâs heart?â, you asked
âHe was fine after you left, he understood it, but what really cracked him was Samâs leavinâ you know?â, he said
âHow have things been?â, you asked back. it was sad, you know, you had giving them a really expensive phone you had gotten for yourself, they could call you at any minute⊠but they never did, you even tried to reach out, to receive nothing, the only ones you kept in contact with were Bobby, Pastor Jim and Sammy
âTenseâ, he said, sipping on his beer, Dean had never been a one to talk about his feelings very well, you also could understood that
âIâm sorry if I hurt you for leavingâ
âTwo yearsâ, he said, looking back at you, you had missed those green eyes, youâd have to admit
âI know Dean, each time I wanted to end it, I just, found a little something that kept me from coming back, but I still donât know more than when I leftâ, you said shortlyÂ
âSo it was all for nothingâ, he said, angrier
âI wouldnât say that, I met people from all over the world, I saved them too, I know things now, more things, you wouldnât believe! and I⊠well⊠scratched my itchâ
âGood for you thenâ, he said. And you knew then, it was not going to be as easy as you thought, could you ever? be back to what you were before you left?, âbut⊠that guy Lutherâ
âVampireâ, you corrected
âHe said to you âhow youâve grownâ and you didnât think about asking him what he knew?â, he asked, not convinced
âNoâ, you said simply. He called your name, concerned, âI know what you are thinking Deanâ, you said, âI will not let Vampire tell me my historyâ
âThere is clearly a connectionâ, he said
âI donât careâ, you said back
âYou donât care finding the monsters that wasted your mother?â, he said
âI see what vengeance can do to peopleâ, you said severely, âand whatever they did, they managed to waste someone just like me, so no, I really donât want to know what those bastards can doâ
âBut tonight you faced them right offâ, he said. You looked at him like he was the dumbest person in the room
âThatâs because you were in dangerâ, you said, like it was obvious, âand I proved my pointâŠI had never encountered Vampires beforeâ, you said simply, âthey are kind of pathetic reallyâ
âSo?â
âSo nothing Dean, drop itâ, you said, and he nodded. You had to change the subject, quickly, âCan I⊠hang around with you guys?â, you askedÂ
âOf course, and dad will⊠get over it, he did say heâll see both of us back in the room, just like old timesâ, you smiled widely. âGood thing winter is coming, you are my favorite heater in those cold nightsâ, you snorted a loud laugh
âItâs good to be backâ
âRight back at yaâ loveâ, he said with a cheeky smile
As the beer started heating your body from the inside out, you thought bitterly of how⊠you had eternity to travel the world, but you had like forty years to be with this guys, and you were going to take advantage of it, to the maximum
You were supposed to get back to the hotel, and to Johnâs good graces, but you couldnât help but⊠getting so wasted you and Dean ended up dancing over the table having singles thrown at you like you were working the joint.
The discussion of âif there would be a pole down there would have become millionairesâ is what woke John up at three in the morning and he was furious. He gave you the entire speech, of how a victory couldnât allow us to lower our guards and that he had already had a lead, that his friends were in danger, whatever.
He made you both sit on the back seat of the Impala, like when you were kids.
âIs this really necessary?â, you asked, bored
âYou two smell like you brought the bar with youâ, he said, âand yesâ
âHey, do you know⊠whereâs my car?â, you asked
âYou gave it to Sammy!â, Dean growled, clearly still upset
âOh, so he took him with him?â, you could tell that Sam was a sore subject for the two of them, âdammitâ
âCuddly Sam, you only gave it to him because he was the only one who didnât have oneâ, said Dean angrily
âWell, you had the Impala, and I was leaving, didnât want to leave it alone!â
âItâs a car!â, growled Dean
âOh yeah, sure, youâd leave Baby aloneâ, you mocked back, and he kept quiet, of course he wouldnât
You didn't notice John smiling at the rearview mirror
Its like no time had passed at allÂ
âSo⊠what are we hunting now?â, you asked excitedly, applauding excitedlyÂ
âGhostâ
âNo!â, you whined, âI hate ghostsâ
âOnly because you canât smoke âemâ, mocked Dean
âOf course!â, you said back, âthey are annoyingâ. You laughed, âIt took me a week to get rid of a ghost, because I donât speak Greek. Do you know how long it took me to get rid of a shapeshifter? 12 hours!â, you kept rambling
âWhere did you encounter the shapeshifter?â, asked Dean, you got quiet
âI knew it was too good to be true when Christian Bale approached in that joint, in my defense, it was close to Notting Hillâ, you said after a sigh, Dean chuckled
âA classicâ, he muttered
âOh come on, I remember the shapeshifter you let your guard down forâ, you bit back
âRight! well my testosterone was all over the placeâ, he defended, âand, while you were gone, we encountered a Kitsuneâ
âNO!â, you said, outraged, âyou promised!â
âWell, what can I say? we didâ, he mocked back
âOh! I canât believe I missed that!â, you said, angry
âDonât you worry, you will be there for the next onesâ, Dean passed an arm over your shoulders and pulled you towards him, âCan I gunshot now?â, he asked his dad, you pushed him away
âYou bastardâ, you hissed
âHey!â
âKnock it off!â, growled John, quickly growing tired of it. But it was good to have you back.Â

2001, Jackson Hole, Wyoming
You woke up with a smile on your face, it was an exciting day after all, you almost jump out of bed, energized by the smell of breakfast, you could hear your mother singing in the kitchen downstairs. You wanted to jump to the first floor but you knew she wouldnât like that, so you ran as fast as you could and in a second you were right by her side
âGood morning mama!â, you chanted, she smiled at you grabbing your face and kissing your cheek
âGood morning my loveâ, she said, with the brightest smile, âexcited for today? I canât believe my daughter is going to Stanford!â
âItâs not a big deal!â you said coyly, but you knew it was
âIâm so proud of youâ, she said, looking at you with loving eyes
âThank you mommyâ, you whispered, she hugged you tightly, kissing the top of your head
âYou have to get me one of those stickers for the car, the ones that read âmy daughter is in stanfordâ or a t-shirt!â, she said excitedly, as she served you breakfast, scrambled eggs, bacon and toast, you made the coffee, and you shared an amazing time.
âYou know, california is beautiful, if you want, we can sell the house and I can move down there with youâ, she offered
âMom, you love it here, is where our family was fromâ, you said softly, âbesides this house is a dream, with how expensive everything is in San Francisco, weâll get a place like a â of the sizeâ, you explained
âOh I get it, my daughter doesnât want me going down there and spoiling her fun!â, she teased,
âNo!â, you giggled, âthat is not itâ
âI get it loveâ, she said softly, caressing the side of your face, âyou are going to be greatâ, she saidÂ
âThank youâ, you said, smiling widely. You had spend the last two years traveling the world after you ended high school, and now you were ready to start college, not any college, you had been accepted to Stanford
And you were so excited
âRemember to use your gloves honeyâ, she said sweetly, kissing you on your forehead, already saying your goodbyes, âand also, remember to keep away from photos as much as you can, alright?â, she asked, âyou know now in the new age, everyone wants their picture taken to upload it to the internet and the internetâŠâ
âIs foreverââ, you completed, âI rememberâ
âHave fun, and take care sweetyâ, she said lovingly, and you hugged her one last time to leave your home
You got into your car, your Pontiac firebird a family friend had gotten you for your birthday and started your journey
You were driving to California, you loved roadtrips, good music, your baby, an open road⊠amazing
You reached San Francisco three days later. Just in time for orientation, as you were getting out of your car, you stumbled upon a large dude, he was tall! like a tree!
âIâm so sorry!â, you mumbled at the same time, his dark eyes met you down
âNice ride!â, he admired, you felt your cheeks heated
âThank youâ, you whispered, looking back at your baby, âare you here for orientation?â
âYes actually, you too?â, you nodded enthusiastically, âgreat, Iâm Sam, Sam Winchesterâ, he said offering his hand, you shook it back, muttering your name back to him, he looked at the gloves weirdly, it might be fall but it was still warm
âWhatâs with the gloves?â, he asked curiously
âOh I⊠well, it was an accident, I was four, my mom was cooking, she turned for one secondâŠâ, you said like you have told that lie a thousand ways before, âmy hands⊠are weird looking but also very sensitiveâ
âOhâ, he said, like he had messed up, âsorryâ
âDonât sweat itâ, you said softly, âitâs a common questionâ, you walked into the campus together, you were looking at everything with a mouth wide open, it was an incredible campus
Turns out, you and Sam met the first day, and you sticked together every day since, he wanted to become a Lawyer, you wanted to become an architect, but you made it work, you studied together, you hang around together and you started to build a group of friends around you
And just like that, four whole years happened, Sam started dating Jess, and they were super happy, and you were already enlisting yourself to be the maid of honor, and you⊠well⊠you were hanging around with a guy, but you werenât too sure about him
Henry
He was so handsome and tall, he was the perfect man, a gentleman, and yet⊠you still werenât so sure about him, there was something missing.Â
You were actually discussing this with Jess, you were together, the three of you, when Samâs apartment doorbell rang. Sam frowned, going for the door, and when he came back, he wasnât alone.Â
âWell, hello gorgeousâ, he purred your way when Jess and Sam were in the kitchen
âHiâ, you muttered simply. He was handsome, deep green eyes, spiky hair, leather jacket, very hip. VERY handsome
âAre you⊠Samâs friend?â, he asked
âYes, we met first year hereâ, you said simply, he only nodded, a smirk on his lips, you even felt nervous with him.
âIâm Samâs brotherâ, he said and you nodded, acknowledging him
âHereâ, said Sam, bringing him a beer. You couldnât stop staring at him, and him you. Sam noticed this, and seemed uncomfortable
âWhat brings you here Dean?â, he asked nervously, just then Dean looks at his brother
âI canât pay a visit to my little brother?â, he asked cheerfully, âletâs turn this around, order a couple of pizzas, drink some beer, you can invite some friendsâ, he said lightly
And turn it around you did
Soon the small apartment was packed, Dean was the soul of the party, that let you have a chat with Sam
âHe just got out of SFSâ, Sam said apologetically, âhe majored in mechanical engineeringâ, he said lightly. You sneaked a peek at Dean and he was looking back at you, he smirkedÂ
âIs that so?â, you mumbled, he chuckled, you looked back at him
âI know that sneaky look in your eyesâ, he said
âHe is handsomeâ, you said, he seemed entertained, âis he going to break my heart?â, you asked
âNoâ, he said softly
And he didnât. Dean worked at a garage with his father while you attempted to finish school, by the time you were graduating, Sam proposed to Jess, even though they were very young, they were so in love, they got married, and when you attended their wedding in a beautiful deep purple dress -as a maid of honor-, you and Dean, both attended the wedding together, you had been dating for a year now, you danced all night, you in his arms, and he asked you, to move in with him, you of course said yes. Â
You met his father, John, at the very wedding, he was happy. Their mother had died when they were children, he never remarried. But he seemed so happy to be there, with his two boys, and with their girls.Â
Your mother had told you, many years ago, as a bedtime story, that you, as a phoenix, mated for life, you feel a pull, a string leading you to that person, and youâll be happy together. You believed that, you wanted it. Dean holds you in his arms, kissing the top of your head.
âI love youâ, he whispered
âI love you tooâ, you said happily.Â
You told him you were a phoenix, he didnât care.
He found it fascinating.
You lived happily, you moved in together, you worked in your dream job, restoring old buildings in San Francisco, Dean worked in his fatherâs shop. He asked you to marry him, you eloped in Vegas. With Sam, Jess and your parents.Â
You were living in an apartment on top of the shop, it was so comfortable, it was your home.
You found out you were pregnant, with twin girls
Your mother was there, she lived with you to help you with the girls, she was by your side when you gave birth. Dean loved her, and⊠you could honestly look up into the skies and give thanks, because you were the luckiest woman on the earth.
Dean was so over the moon, he was the greatest girl's dad you had ever seen. You fell even more for him, if that was even possible.
You had friends that you adored, you had the most handsome and incredible husband, which you loved with all your heart, you had a caring father in law. And you had two perfect little girls that took after their fathers, and you had your mother.Â
Your life was perfect.Â
âReally?â, she asked him, âyou are giving her dreams instead of nightmares?â, she mocked, watching you on the floor, sleeping peacefully, âyou are getting weakâ, she whispered in her mateâs ear. Who had your wrist on his mouth, he had managed to break the skin, he was feeding from you.Â
âShe is too powerfulâ, the Djinn responded, blood dripping down the corner of his lip, âif she gets distressed she will break out of the tranceâ
âWhat is she?â, she asked back, fascinated
âI donât knowâ, he answered, âbut her blood⊠is deliciousâ. The other Djinn turned to John, laying on the floor next to you
âLetâs see how you taste old manâ, she purred
John looked at the big farmhouse with curiosity, he went up the three wooden steps that lead to the porch and then inside of the house.
It was his parents house, they were gone now, but the house was lit up with life inside of it. The house had been abandoned but now, it had been brought back to life.
âSweetheart? is that you?â, he heard a melodic voice coming from the kitchen. He looked everywhere, the house was completely renovated, it was beautiful, more beautiful than he remembered.
âYesâ, he answered, he didn't even know why, maybe it was a force of habit.Â
He stopped by the mirror in the corridor and he looked at himself in it, there he was, himself. when he was thirty.
What the hell was going on?
He heard footsteps from the corridor leading to the kitchen, and then, his breath got caught in his throat when he saw you, coming towards him, with a beautiful smile, and a big baby bump. You look older than you were, at least thirtyÂ
âWe missed youâ, you said with a bright smile, you were wearing an apron, you had flour staining it, you took his face gently in your hand and you kissed him, his hands traveled to your hips
âHello darlinâ, he whispered against your lips
âPapa!â, he heard footsteps tapping around in the corridor. Two children appeared, which he could recognize anywhere, Sam and Dean, looking as cute as buttons. Dean was eight and Sam was four.Â
â(y/n) is baking my favorite pieâ, said Dean Happily, John dropped his bag of tools, grabbing Sammy on his strong arms, and followed you into the kitchen. He found it weird that he called you by your name instead of⊠and then he saw a picture of Mary on the wall, with the boys. Where youâŠ?
âYour little girl had been kicking me all day long!â, you said happily, finishing up in the kitchen
âLittle girl?â, he asked, curiously
âWell, I know you can never know for sureâ, you said softly, âbut this old lady told me she thought it was a girl, and well, many things, we did the ring test, and rhe shape of the belly tooâŠâ, you muttered. He looked at your shape from where he was sitting. He must be dreaming. He looked at his boys, eating the chicken and potatoes you had made them.Â
This had to be a dream
But he didnât want to scare you.
He looked at your shape again, you were a woman now, grown, which let him know you were no longer a supernatural creature.Your huge belly, he looked at his boys, who looked back at him wide eyed, and smiling
He felt⊠happy.
âWhat happened?â, he dared to ask you, when you were both ready for bed, in the master bedroom.
âWhat do you mean?â, you asked softly. He was clearly⊠with you⊠but the boys existed too, and⊠âremember that this week, well, of course you remembered but I called the florist alreadyâ, yous aid gently
âWhat florist?â, he asked
âFor⊠Maryâs memorialâ, you said, looking at him sadly. Mary died, he remarried⊠youâŠ. he had the boys and now he was expecting a girl⊠with you.
âAlright, thank youâ, he said, leaning in and kissing your lips, you felt asleep cuddled by his side, your big belly over his stomach.
He was putting flowers on Maryâs grave. His friends and remaining family were there. but you werenât, you didnât feel well, and he realized you wanted to give him space, which he appreciated. It had been four years since Maryâs death, he believed it was a bit too soon to be married to you, but right now, he didnât know what happened.
He worked in his own mechanic shop, his own, he was so proud of himself for achieving it, he came back to you and the kids every night, he went to his kidâs games, he even coached little league.Â
He found you in the kitchen, your water broke, and you whined in pain.
He took you to the hospital, he left the kids with the neighbors, a loving couple you liked so much, that you barbequed with.
It was a girl, a beautiful little girl who looked like you.
He was happy, really happy. Heâs got the cake, and he ate it too.
He woke up early that one morning, you were so tired, Violet kept waking you up for feeding in the middle of the night, but there you were, sleeping soundly next to him
âDad!â, he heard, in the back of his mind, âDAD!â, the last thing he saw was your sleeping face, before Dean was shaking him awake.Â
He was back in the present, and two Djinns lay dead, one, killed by the Dean, the other⊠copious amounts of blood were dripping from his mouth, like he just throw it all up, he was right next to you, your wrist⊠was healing but it had been bitten onto, severely.
Dean was over you now, shaking you awake
âMom?â, you felt like you would die, you were so weak, your eyelids were heavy, very heavy
âNo darling, itâs meâ, you heard that gruff voice, Dean, tried to make you sit, but he had to grab you, you couldnât keep your own body up
âMmmm Dean?â, you asked, feeling so faint, like your brain was made of cotton
âShh, I got youâ, he shushed gently, âthose bastards got you goodâ, lifting you from the ground. âDad, are you ok?â, he asked
âYes Iâm fine Dean, take care of her!â, he insisted, the Djinns didnât get to him in time.Â
âWhat were they?â, you asked, as they both started walking away.Â
âDjinns, got you and dadâ, Dean carried you like you were a princess, out of the large Warehouse. It came back, all of it, you had come to Denver, in Colorado, to find and kill the Djinns that were draining dry innocent people.Â
âIâm sorryâ, you whined
âItâs fine, thanks to you, I got the time to rescue dad and gank themâ, he said
âWhat happened?â, you asked then
âThey fed off of you, they seemed rabid for itâ, he said, he laid you in the back of the Impala, and closed the door gently, you curled up, hugging yourself, it seemed impossible, but you might have been experiencing cold for the very first time
Both John and Dean got inside the car, John in the passenger seat, he turned over the leather seat and looked at you
âSweetheart, are you alright?â, he asked, concern in his features
âMhmâ, you mumbled, barely
âIâm sorryâ, he muttered
âItâs fineâ, you whispered
âIs she going to be alright?â, he asked Dean, he shook his head
âI willâ, you promised, âI need a minuteâ
âI didnât even know monsters could feed off of phoenixesâ, John said, Dean started the car and leaving the scene quickly
âThey did, but one of them died because of it, he started screaming, like he was being burned, and then he just collapsed and diedâ, he said quickly, âlike her blood was poison or somethingâ
âMmmm I need a sandwichâ, you mumbled, really out of it
âWhat kind of sandwich?â, asked Dean
âMmmm meat⊠cheese⊠mayoâ, you barely whisper, âand a strawberry milkshakeâ
âThat sounds⊠pretty goodâ, Dean said happily. âLetâs get away from this crap-ass cityâ, he saidÂ
John kept looking back at you. You just dozed off, only in a couple of hours, you were going to be brand new.Â
Post chapter notes: Soooo Reader wished her mom never died. And John fleetingly wished he met the reader âbeforeâ, didnât specify much.
Maybe this chapter is a bit weird, its similar to the one where Dean gets trapped by a Djinn and he alucinates... anyways... happy reading

Wordcount: 0 k
Notes: This episode is from the series, far along the road, but⊠I want to pump our John with⊠a bit of life⊠this includes severely OCC because Bobby and John would never fly with what Iâm about to do jeje but hey, this is fanfiction, I wish I started this after because I wish they were older, you know what I mean? In this Dean is 24 and reader 22, so Iâm gonna amp the time difference between chapters so they get older quickly jejee
At night, you were in that warehouse again, tied. The fear pulled you out of consciousness, but when you came to be, in the thinnest layers of still sleep, you felt Deanâs arms around you, comforting you, making you relax. But still you felt your body tense
âYou alright?, you heard Dean whisper
âJust a nightmareâ, you whispered into the room. You heard Johnâs light snoring, so you knew you had Deanâs undivided attention
âI wanted to kill him Deanâ, you confessed quietly, you heard him take a long breath, âI wanted to burn him alive, I wanted to make him sufferâŠâ
âBabyâŠâ
âHe was right, Iâm a monsterâ, you whined
âYou are notâ, he said decisively
âI amâ, you whimpered, âif I was free I would have burnt him, because I desired it too muchâ
âYou desired it because the sicko was torturing youâ, he said, âI wanted him deadâ, he said next, âand if I could I would have killed him, only because of what he was doing to youâ, you took a long breath, trying to shake the dark thought that haunted you, âyou are not a monster, you are not like them, you are going to be fineâ
âYesâ, you whispered
âYou need to believe itâ, he said firmlyÂ
. . .
It bothered you, for it to hurt and pinch everytime you moved.Â
You had healed cuts in seconds, but now you had a real injury on your side, that it was closing at human speed, and it was⊠infuriating. You didnât know how Dean and John did it, to spend weeks with injuries and cuts they had suffered in cases.
You felt weak
You had a cut across your cheek, two in your collarbone area, and a stab wound on your left side. The aftermath of the thing, the rest had healed completely. You dressed with a turtleneck, looking at your own body right now did not sit right with you, you didnât like itÂ
The wound on your face was too fresh to cover it with make up yet, so you just leave it. Looking at yourself at the mirror for the last time, to get out of there, grabbing your things and joining the boys in the parking lot
âWe are going to reach Bobbyâs tonightâ, said John, âDean take the Firebird, (y/n) you ride with meâ, you much rather have a karaoke ride with Dean on your car, but you were in no mood to fight with John, because you were going to lose, so you got inside the car with no more quarrel, after leaving your bag on the back.
You looked at John when he got in the car. This was the man that saved you and took care of you since then⊠but you got so nervous when you were alone with him. He was a drill sergeant, he was like your commanding officer, always had more critics than praise, always the âno time to celebrateâ party pooper, so you always felt nervous and judged when you were in his proximity, almost as afraid to move in case he had something negative to say to you. It was a bit intoxicating being in his presence, alone, for the entire day while you cross Colorado and Nebraska. But again, fighting with him is worse.
You were quickly out of the town you had been staying at, and you took the 70 towards Colorado
He drew you out of your head by calling your name, you raised your eyes to look at him
âWhat happened to you⊠can never happen againâ, he said, âyou need to be more carefulâ
âYes Sirâ, you said, as you havenât gone over the last days over and over thinking how things could have gone differently if you only did that, or this, or got in your car first, or not letting them go before you, orâŠ
âDonât âyes sirâ meâ, he said, not angry, but firmly, âWe havenât been that scared inâŠâ, he sighed, âsinceâŠâ, he didnât finish the sentence but you could guess what he meant, âGordon is known for being relentless, he is a good hunter, specially for Vampires and Iâm afraid now he set his eyes on you he is not going to let go untilâŠâ
âUntil he gets me again or we kill himâ, you said bitterly
âHe is as vicious as the creatures he huntsâ, he said, âthat is why I didnât took you along with me that dayâ, you nodded
âI understand that nowâ, you said, âbut IâŠâ
âI have my friends looking for Gordonâ, he said, âluckily I have more friends that he does, so, if he shows up again, we might get a headâs upâ, you nodded
âIâm sorry for getting you in trouble with another hunterâ, he almost pumped the brakes right then and there
âDonât ever do that again, that guy is a psychopath and this is in no way shape or form your faultâ, he said firmly
âHe is hunting me because of what I amâ, you said, âand because Iâm near you, now heâs got beef with all of usâ
âThatâs on himâ, he said, âdid he say anything to you?â, he tried
âBesides the occasional threat?â, you asked, âhe said he caught my trace because he found my information on a vampire nestâ, you said, âand he thought at first I was a vampire until he started trailing me and realized I was something elseâ
âYour information?â, he asked
âHe found photos and information of places I had been inâ, you said, âhe didnât exactly walked me through what he had seen reallyâ
âThis isnât goodâ, he mumbled, âLuthor said he knew you, that day when you returnedâŠâ
âIâm not afraid of vampiresâ, you said
âThen you are an idiotâ, he said, you got quiet
âIt's not that Iâm underestimating themâ, you said quickly
âGoodâ
âBut I really want to put this away for later, I donât want to deal with the vamps right now, and Iâm sure as hell I donât want to keep thinking about that lunaticâ
âWe will see what Bobby found, alright doll? keep your mind off of this for a whileâ, everytime he called you that, which was very new, you got a tingle in your spine
âThat would be goodâ, you said shortly, you hugged yourself, the awkwardness against settling between you. âHow did you find me?â, you asked, you felt him looking at you, âthat night?â
âWe called everyone I knew who could know that wacko, and someone sent us the addressâ, he said shortly.Â
âThe address of a warehouse in the middle of nowhere?â, you asked. He said nothing else, only kept driving.
You met with Dean at a gas station to refill the tank. He seemed happy to be back on the road
âYour Firebird drives like a dream!â, he said with a wide smile
âA big assessment coming from youâ, you muttered with a shy smile. You looked at the run -down store and the joint next to it
âI need a burgerâ, you muttered, and like five shots of tequila if you were gonna gon another half a day with John in the car, but it was midday
The men followed you after filling up the tanks and parking.Â
You had already ordered for them.Â
You ate in silence, you and Dean had always talked freely, but with John it was always different, he was this thick, looming presence that it was almost smothering.Â
You went back to the cars, and you reached Bobbyâs at nightfall.
He received you warmly, at least, Dean and you, his preference was obvious
âLetâs hear it, Singerâ, John only said, always down to business immediately, not joy whatsoever.
You went to lay down for a while, you needed some⊠âtime to yourselfâ
When you finally joined the men, beers were out, and they were discussing over the table, about possible spells, curses and others, and how it was best to approach the witch.
âSo you gamble years of your life with himâŠâ, said John, âand how do you defeat him⊠by winning?â
âI don;t know, we found this guy, who was 90 years old, and now he is thirtyâŠâ
âSo if we play him and looseâ, said Dean
âYou are going to become oldâ
âSo who is playing him?â, asked John, but nobody offered
âYou do know Iâm immortal, right?â, you mocked, coming near them, and the three of them seemed to have a light bulb going on atop their heads, the three of them turned to look at you. âI will play him, It doesnât matter if I lose, right?â, Dean approached you
âAre you sure you are ready?â, he asked, you nodded
âYesâ, you said simply. âCompletely sureâ, you said with certainty, you hated the pity look in Deanâs eyes when he looked at you now
âWhat if it doesnât work like that?â, asked John, âwhat if you do age?â
âIâll figure something outâ, you mumbled, âIâm 22 I still got a couple of chips on my name, right?â, you asked lightly. They didnât say anything, so you continued. âHow do you play it?â, they stopped in their tracks, and turned to look at you
âWhat?â, snapped Dean, âyou donât know how to play poker?â, he asked
âNoâ, you said as it was the most obvious thing, âI do notâ, and the three of them grumbled, annoyed.Â
. . .
âI could literally tell you what cards are you holdingâ, said Dean, three hours later, âYou have an non-existing poker face, I know exactly what your thoughts areâ
âIt doesnât matter what Iâm thinking, right?â, you asked, âI have the cards or I donâtâ, al three men cursed at the same time
âIT IS IMPORTANT!â, said Dean, throwing the cards over the table, âthatâs how you win! more than half of this game is about lying!â, you growled, throwing your own cards
âCanât I challenge him in a game of go fish or something?â, you asked
âNO!â, they said at the same time
âThis is ridiculous, Iâm the best at that game, I will do it.
. . .Â
âI take it you lostâ, you said softly, looking at an eighty year-old Dean. He smiled mockingly and showed you the finger, âGodsâ, you mumbled
âWhat if we take his chips?â, asked Bobby, âhe has to have something to be the source of his power, right?â
âIâm the only one who can beat himâ, you said, âI will not age, letâs keep goingâ
âHow do you know?â, asked John, looking back at you, âwe donât know that for certainâ
âEven if we donât, we need to get Dean back to his youthful self before he dies of natural causesâ, you said angrily, so you walked towards the table where the deck of cards was still on the tale, ârack âemâ, you demanded
âTHATâS POOL!â
. . .
You didn't even flinch at the prospect of aging until you died
Because you didnât really know what was going to happen, you only knew about your species because of lore, it could be wrong, you thought, you could age.
You remembered your mother⊠a bit, she did not look twenty one.
So you could age and die if you lost those chips, but instead of being fearful of the uncertainty, you were calm. As you entered the room and sat in front of the wizard, warlock? male witch
âNow, what could possibly bring someone as young and beautiful as you here, love?â, he asked, you liked the accent. You only looked back at him with a soft smile.
âJust looking for something thrillingâ, you said calmly, âand to get back my friendâs youthâ, you said simply. The beautiful woman by his side looked down at him nervously, and then at you. She truly didnât know you knew what you were getting into.
âOh darlingâŠâ, he said, as he dealt the cards, âOh, I get it, you are one of those who âhave nothing to loseâ, are you love?â, he asked
âSomething like thatâ, you said nonchalantly, taking another card, this game was so boring, but Dean was right, you had a very, âlegibleâ face, so you tried to keep it showing what you were feeling, boredom.
You were excited when you won the first round, grabbing a couple of 25 numbered chips to cash in for Dean. But soon, you were losing. Is not that you couldnât lose, meaning, you could, but⊠you still needed to get a couple of chips to cash in for Dean.Â
But you lost, miserably, and he seemed even guilty. Grabbing the pile of chips from the table.Â
âIâm sorryâ, he said, with a shit-eating grin, you took a long breath and then looked up at him again, if you couldnât win, at least, now you could negotiate with him. Although the woman seemed really displeased and nervous.Â
âCash themâ, you said simply, he frowned at your disposal
âDonât you have to put your affairs in order or something darling?â, he said gently, âI can give you a couple of hours
âCash themâ, you insisted. He looked doubtful, as the woman by his side, but he snapped his fingers. Immediately you felt a rush, but it wasnât bad, you were looking at your hands over the table, and they did not wrinkled or got old, they stood the same. And you? you didnât feel the passing of the 300+ years you had lost, you felt invigorated, if anything you felt fresher, stronger, you felt like you had been sleeping for days and woke up a new person. You didnât feel the pull of the wound on your cheek, or your side, or the slight burn in your collarbones, your wounds were healedÂ
His face was priceless
âWhat are you?â, he asked, pleasantly surprised. You were not going to lie to yourself, you were indeed scared, you didnât know if the chips were going to make an affect on you, but, apparently they didnât. âA fellow witch?â, he tried
âNoâ, you said softly, âIâm something elseâ, you said simply
âYou are no vampireâŠâ, he tried, you only shook your head, âI have to say, people come to me, knowing exactly what they are getting intoâŠâ
âIâm awareâ, you said softly, âBut now my friend got old, trying to stop youâŠâ
âYou want to keep playing?â, he asked, you barely nodded
So you played
You were at it for hours, until you finally gathered a high sum of chips, from which, you could restore Dean and then some.Â
You even gave in a couple of more years to him.
You needed to leave.Â
âI just gave you more than 300 hundred yearsâ, you say, âcan I cash them in for a couple of friends?â, you teased, he smiled pleasantly, âgive them a bit of a⊠rejuvenating treatment?â
âWell, you did give me 325 years, I guess I can do you a small favorâ, you smiled widely.
. . .
When you got out of the dump of a bar they were hiding at, Dean a young Dean, saw you and whistled, catcalling you
âWhat the hell happened to you?â, he asked, you didnât know what it was, but you felt great, âyou actually won?â
âNot reallyâ, you said simply, you looked beyond Dean, to John and Bobby, who were looking at each other wide-eyed. Dean followed your eyesight and cursed under his breath
âWhat the hell did you do?â, he asked slowly. John and Bobby got 25 years younger each, which meant they were now a couple of years older than yourself and Dean.
âI trade in a couple of hundred yearsâ, you said, smiling widely. But your smile got wiped out pretty quickly, where they going to be mad at you? you didnât think so, they both looked⊠great⊠how on hell were you going to explain it to others? how⊠oh for the gods what have you done!?
But then⊠they started smiling.Â
âSo now⊠he is going to stay like that?â, asked Dean, he seemed as concerned as you. You both looked back at Bobby and John, they were talking, and then, surprising you both, they started flexing and chuckling
âOh Godsâ, you muttered
âWhat did we unleash on the world?â, asked Dean, as sickened as you. But then his gaze turned to you, he touched your cheek, where your wound was supposed to be, âit healedâ, he said, marveled
âIâm 347 years old nowâ, you said matter of factlyÂ
âGod youâre bad at pokerâ, he chuckledÂ
âHey dude, respect your elders!â, you mocked, sticking your tongue out. He looked back at you and smiled, âWhat?â, you mocked
âItâs good to have you backâ, he said lightly.
âYeah, only now Iâm older, wiser, strongerâŠâ, you said with a wide smile, âfuckinâ thrivinâÂ

âYou still keep that?â, asked Dean, you giggled
âOf course I doâ, you had a map, a big map, those for tourist, of all the united states, in it, you were marking the places you had been, because, as hunters, you should never ârepeat the treatâ, meaning, after posing for federal agents, or policemen, or anything, you shouldnât really come back. You marked Denver with a big X
âWhat did you see?â, he asked gently, you looked at were John had gone, to the bathroom, you were at the local diner
âUh?â, you asked looking back at him, âwhen?â
âWhen that Djinn got youâ, he said again
âIt was a dreamâ, you said seriously
â(y/n), you mumbled âmomâ when you were waking upâ, he said, you looked back at him, it had been a beautiful dream
âMy mom was aliveâ, you said, âI went to Stanford to study architecture, I met Sam, he finished school and married Jess, you had studied too, went to USF and studied mechanical engineeringâ, you said quickly, he frowned, âI got married and had twin girlsâ
âReally?â, he asked, you nodded, he chuckled, âwhat a tripâ, he smiled, âwhoâs Jess?â
âSammyâs girlfriendâ, you giggled
âHe has a girlfriend?â, he asked, amazed, you nodded
âWho has a girlfriend?â, asked JohnÂ
âThe guy we are afterâ, he said simply
âHe should be 120 years oldâ, John said weirdly, you and Dean shared concerned looks
âHe was into younger womenâ, you said quickly. he didnât buy it
âI appreciate youâre backâ, he started, and you resisted the urge to roll your eyes, âbut I need you to focus, both of youâ, he said severely, and you really appreciated that he didnât include any âbutâ or âifsâ, âI understand itâs hard to come backâŠâ
âYes, Serâ, you said firmly, even Dean seemed surprised, âIâm sorryâ, he nodded, more pleased
âWhat did you see, Ser?â, Dean asked, John looked at him, and then at you
âWhen?â, he asked
âWhen those Djinns got youâ, he asked, you knew he was dying to know
âFocus on the right things, Deanâ, he said severely
â(y/n) told meâ, he said, as he was a little kid
âAnywaysâ, he said, âletâs check in, and then weâll gather the infoâ
âPeople showing up dead with missing body parts, right?â, you asked, grabbing the paper clipping over the table, âare we sure this isnât just a gang for organ trafficking?â, you asked gently
âYes, but⊠the stitches⊠they are using silk, that is a way old method to stitch thoseâ, muttered John, you nodded
âGreatâ, you mumbled.Â
âLetâs wait until we are in the motelâ, muttered John looking around, you both nodded, you put the clipping away
âYes Serâ, you said at the same time.
This motel in particular was⊠nicer, one room with two twin beds, it was comfortable.
âOh look, we have a kitchen!â, you admiredÂ
âNiceâ, said Dean without caring, you dropped the two bags filled with weapons on the bed, Dean and John got ready, they started getting dressed in suits
âWhy canât I go?â, you asked Dean
âBecause you canât keep a straight face, you are always smiling and gigglingâ, he mocked, âand you look 20â, you rolled your eyes
âIâm 22â
âExactly, besides, the trope of Seasoned agent and his apprentice never gets oldâ, he said with a smirk, they both looked handsome in suits. You walked towards Dean, and helped him, arranging his tie that was crooked, he kept looking at you
âYou never told meâ, he teased
âWhat?â, you asked him
âWho was the guy you married in your dreamâ
âYou still on that?â, you mocked, trying to hide how nervous you were, he kept smirking at you, âsome guy I met on the tripâ
âUh, that important uh?â, he asked
âNot really, he was handsome though, and it was a dream you knowâ
âI know when you are lyingâ, he teased.
âIdjitâ, you chuckled
âWe need you to give us some intelâ, said John, you barely nodded
âYes, Iâll doâ, you said quickly, setting up your computer on the table, âbut you do know I can lift 1.000 pounds, right?â, you asked, very seriously
âYeah, yeah, sureâ, mocked Dean, but then he stopped and looked right back at you, âhow do you know how much you bench?â, he asked
âI like to go to gyms and freak gym rats outâ, you said simply
âI need you to check on the places the people had been snatched fromâ, said John, giving you a list
âGreatâ, you said happily, you did like this part, the investigation, like you were detectives
As they left to start their investigation, you prepared a small pack and left too.Â
You had seen so many cities, each time though you couldnât possibly learn the layout of another one, but you did, you always learned them, and soon you managed to wander around and always come back to the motel.
Parks, that was a favorite spot for beasts, vampires, werewolves and ghouls to snatch their victims.Â
A guy who used to run everyday by the park got snatched two days ago.
You looked around, not knowing what you were really looking for, somethingâŠÂ
You wouldnât tell this to John, or Dean, not even Sam when he was with you⊠and of course you didnât know what humans perceived or saw or heard⊠but in comparison to the boys, you noticed you could⊠sense everything more clearly, you had really acute instinctsâŠÂ
So you walked a path through a more distant part of the park almost through the woodsÂ
The hair in the backs of your head were standing up, all your senses seemed heightened, you entered a subspace in your head of maximum alert even though you werenât really scared, if was like you were on the hunt⊠even though you didnât really hunted for anythingÂ
The police should have been looking around, so you were being childish to think they would left anything unchecked, but still.
You found nothing.
All of that for nothing, you took the path back to the city, more frustrated than anything, it was childish to think you were going to crack this thing alone, and also, you should get used to the idea that it was going to take a while to adjust backâŠ
âMama!â, screamed a small child, his mother was with him, âI donât wanna go down thereâ, he said, grabbing onto her hand
âWhy?â
âThere is a man in the woods! Frankenstein!â, he cried
âLast time I let you watch those movies with your cousins!â, she said angrily. You looked back at the forest, but there was nothing there.
The sun was already setting, so you started walking back to the motel, you stopped by a store, to buy some food, now that you had a kitchen in the room, you found some steaks, you bought beer, and buy a lot of snacks, you sensed it was going to be a long night to try and figure this out. You wanted to do something nice for them, so you used your credit card with your fake name
âYou are such a nice girlâ, said the old woman who was minding the register
âThank youâ, you whispered softly, a bit embarrassed
âYou take care alright? there is a bad man out thereâ, she warned, you found it odd
âWhat do you mean?â, you askedÂ
âYou take careâ, she muttered, you nodded
âThank youâ, you said quickly, grabbing your things. This was a strange town.
You drank beer while you cooked the stakes and made some sides to go with them, John and Dean entered shortly after.
Dean whistled
âIâm so glad to have you back!â, he said happily, kissing your cheek, âI can get used to thisâ
âWell⊠donâtâ, you said with a giggle. âHow did it go?â, you asked
âIt was⊠pretty disgustingâ, John, as usual, didnât say anything but he seems pleased, âweâll discuss it after dinner doll I donât want to spoil itâ
âI actually saw a couple of thingsâ, you said, âI was walking at the park and⊠I heard this kid say that he didnât want to go to the woods, that Frankeinstein was thereâ
âThat could be anythingâ, said Dean as he help you put the plates a the table
âI felt this weird vibeâ, you explained, but they shook it off
âThis is so fucking goodâ, moaned Dean as he ate, âitâs been a while since Iâve eaten a home cooked mealâ, he said happily, finishing his food
âThanksâ, muttered JOhn, you only smiled, being glad that you did this for them
After dinner with beers in hand, you started discussing the important things
âWe found maggots on the inside of a guyâs woundâ, you wanted to throw up the good meal you put together
âEven if thatâs disgusting⊠it is a clueâ, you said quickly, taking out the things you researched, âLike the silk used to sew the wounds shut, is a really ancient method, doctors I used to do it like this on the late 1800sâ, you said firmly, âso this⊠doesnât look human to meâ, they shared concerned looks
âA victim is missing its liver, the other, one eye, the one with the worms, and anotherâs lungsâ
âIt seems so random thoughâ, you said, âusually is one part for monsters, this thing⊠is taking parts then trying to patch them up? itâs weirdâ, you saidÂ
âAgreedâ. said Dean.
âDo we have a pattern? like the victims? are they connected?â, you asked.
âThey all seemed to be young and healthyâ
You spend most part of the night making theories until you finally fall asleep. Since John found you, you bunked with Dean, it wasnât odd, so you both took one of the beds. You ran hot at night, so Dean was always happy to keep you near when it was cold outside.Â
âIâm gonna do make some roundsâ, announced John surprisingly, you both looked at him
âWe can go with you Sirâ, Dean said quickly
âYou stay and rest, so you both can go tomorrowâ, hes aid firmly, and you knew, with that voice, he didnât any discussions
He didnât do you any favors, if he would have wanted you to go, he would have said so, you both understood it, so he left, leaving you both alone
âItâs weirdâ, you said
âWhat is?â, he asked back
âYou donât want to hit the bars or anything?â, you asked
âNot really, Iâm beatâ, he said, accommodating himself ready to sleep, you followed suit soon after.
But something woke you up in the middle of the night, you turned around to see Dean comfortably tucked in, you were sleeping in shorts almost on top of the bed, it was hilarious
John wasnât back yet.
It was four in the morning.
You got up and dressed, left a note for Dean that you were going to make a few rounds too, and left. You put on your most comfortable boots, you were going on foot.
You were trying to come to a balance, before you left for your trip,John would be so cautious with you, sometimes as far as leaving you in the motel instead of taking you. Youâd think youâd be his secret weapon, the muscle of your little group, but the truth is, you werenât. He was very protective of you, sometimes you even considered he was fearful of you, of what you could do.
And then, when you found yourself alone, you really tested your own limits, and pushed them too, you discovered more things about yourself when you were alone, because you werenât being pressured constantly. You were so afraid before that youâd hurt somebody, you could see the fear in the Winchesterâs too. But you started hunting alone, and even though sometimes you messed up, you got the job done.
Now you believed you needed to adjust back to John, and he needed to adjust to the fact, that you werenât that little girl anymore, you were a supernatural being, that had total control over her body, and what some may call your âpowersâ, it was a bit grinding to call them that, the fact that you could burn people to a crisp, not age, and have super strength, but still.
You walked back to the park, something kept calling you there.
You saw the Impala parked by the entrance, and your stomach sank
You ran through that park, all of it, in seconds, it was empty, the night was chilly, and you didnât know what to do. You took the same road towards the woods. You couldnât see much, but the moon still lit up the way, and besides, as stated, you had more capabilities than the regular human. You followed the path until it was no longer one, you were in the middle of the woods, this was bananas. You soon heard the noise of a creek, a river.
âJOHN!â, you called, not caring for the consequences, you wished for a wendigo or something, you really wanted to have a good fight, fist to fist.
But no such luck.
You wished so badly you could fly
You could though.
You found a run down cabin in the middle of nowhere, as you stood in front of it⊠you started catching a disgusting smell, not fresh, but⊠hits that something recent had been going on.Â
You entered quietly, on guard. This might be hunted but you really believe it was not a ghost what you were hunting.
You had a knife on you, you held it tight in your hand, and you uncovered your other from your gloves.
John grunted against his restraints, against the leather this maniac had placed in his mouth. To look so old and disgusted this man had strength, that was for certain.
âI prefer to go youngerâ, he whispered, âbut you have strong armsâ, he purred, John fought some more, as the doctor prepared his amputation knife.Â
He ripped his shirt off, to be able to see. This manâs face was⊠twisted, he had cut many pieces of many people and stuck them to himself, to replace parts he had lost himself. He was held up in the basement of an abandoned house, and John was dizzy from the chloroform this monster had used on him, the entire room smell of death, old antiseptic, and the metallic reek of blood.
He stopped before the rusty knife could touch his skin, and the doc looked beyond
âYou brought a friend I hearâ, he purred, âI sense a strong heart on that oneâ, John moved even more
He was checking the park, as he remembered what he had said, he came from behind, drugging him, he gave him a fight, but at the end, the chloroform did its trick, the next thing he knew, he was tied to this lunaticâs medical bed.
But he stopped, looking surprise, a thin line of blood dripping from his mouth, and John noticed a blade coming out of his chest where his heart should be
The doctor dropped to the floor and there you were.
With a pull you freed John
âI think this is the worst, so, the best moment to scold you and say, you shouldnât go out there aloneâ, you said, angrily, you were the best weapon at his arsenal, and he didnât use you.
You often wondered that if was because he was scared of you, or didnât trust you, you didn't know what you preferredÂ
âThanks, I was in a bind dollâ, the second time he called you that, he had never called you that before. He was weak, he almost dropped to the floor, and there you were, ready to grab him
âWe need to get out of hereâ, , you said quickly, we can come back tomorrow. He wanted to fight it, but he understood he couldnât, so he let you help him get out of the basement and out of that nightmare cabin.
That⊠things⊠was deadÂ
âHe said he had the cure for immortalityâ, John muttered
âIs that something you are interested in, John?â, you asked almost mockingly, as you started walking through the woods
âHow did you find me so quickly?â, he asked, his legs seemed to come out of their stupor,Â
âIâve changed in the past two years Johnâ, you said quickly.
You should have come back, you should have burned that palace to the ground.
But you didnât, you wanted to get out of there, you didnât want to set it on fire because the authorities were going to find it, and even though that was going to give a certain peace to the victimâs families, you couldnât risk all that medieval equipment, and him, coming out to the light, you figured if you came back tomorrow, things could be more clearerÂ
John had seemed to understand what you meant that night, he seemed to believe he underestimated you, he did.Â
But it all went to shit when you returned the next morning, and everything was gone.He was gone.Â
You failed.
Sorry if the one before came out a little weird, I'm so nervous I feel like I'm loosing my touch, nobody is reading me anymore, anyways, if you are reading this, it means that you did! love you â€ïž
