#RenoPaintGelding #RescueHorse has elected himself to be an adopted Daddy to these two fillys; the sorrel in greenish blanket is a yearling and the other is a two yr old. He has decided, even though the yearlings Momma is present, he is their protector and teacher and will guide them out of danger and in the direction of the larger herd and hay. The first night they gave him a workout as they didn't understand what he wanted or was doing but he stuck with them and reports are he was by their side the next morning. He is such a good boy. Reminder Reno had been a stallion for 9 yrs and had his own 30-40 head herd of Morgan Mommas and babies that he kept safe and together. When the Morgans were transported to our barn now three years ago he was gelded within weeks. Based solely on his demeanor before he was gelded that I actually witnessed for myself and his behavior after and to date nothing in his temperament has changed minus the hormones. He still has "his way" with mares but he has no idea he's shooting blanks and he's thankfully kept his herding stallion behaviors and has his own small herd of a few mares and geldings but he's also a gentleman. He is not aggressive, unless he's playing or confronted, and his gentle nature of getting his point across is amazing to see. In some ways he seems to be the male version of my #MisersDaelite, he's very thoughtful and protective like she was, makes missing her a little easier strange as it may sound. I am speaking in this clip but very low so hopefully you can understand my commentary and explanations.
