Not to be Galaxy Brained, but uh Theatre Kid Jaskier and Annoyed Stage Crew Geralt who’s only there because he doesn’t want to take art but needs an art credit to graduate AU.
EDIT: PLEASE feel free to ask and/or write something for this AU (and ofc tag me in it if you do) because I wanna talk about it/see content for it but unfortunately have no motivation to REALLY write anything for it.
Hello, everyone! Since Ravioverse has gotten pretty big now and has a ton of information that can be pretty daunting to get through for someone new to our humble little corner, we’ve decided to make a post nicely summarizing a majority of our content! Specifically, we’ll be summarizing (and not necessarily in this order):
Who each Ravio is
The basics for each individual quest
The overall concept for the AU and some of its core ideas
A list of Lorule’s various races and their Hyrulean counterparts
That said, before we officially start, Ravioverse is an AU based off of The Linked Universe comic created by Jojo56839 here on Tumblr. You don’t necessarily need to read the comic to understand what’s happening in Ravioverse, but its basic concept is that, while the Links from Hyrule are going on their quest together to figure out why portals through time are opening up, the Ravios of Lorule are doing much the same.
Now on to the main post!
Core Ideas
For the most part, Ravioverse follows general Zelda logic as you’d expect, however, there are a few vital components that make this universe work the way it does:
The Triforce is not made up of Power (Din), Courage (Farore), and Wisdom (Nayru); but rather Beauty (Mun), Reason (Pavhalla), and Will (Klino).
While Hyrule has three timelines, Lorule has three braided universes. This gets particularly complex, so it is highly recommended that you check our post describing how the timeline and universe hopping works here.
Generally, Hyrule is more time oriented while Lorule is more space oriented (Hylia = Goddess of Time; Lorelle = Goddess of Space).
Demise originated from Lorule.
There are several layers to each dimension: the demon realm, the dark world (NOT ALttP’s version, but rather FSA’s), the material plane, the spirit realm, and the sacred realm.
There are separate worlds/dimensions that border Lorule and Hyrule, such as Termina and the Realm of Janus, though they can only be accessed through very powerful space magic or natural portals that are hidden in the land.
The Dark Mirror and the Mirror of Twilight are the same thing, however it has been destroyed and reconstructed multiple times throughout history.
The Twilight Realm is Lorule, and the Interlopers arrived before the kingdom underwent its transformation.
The Sovereign Rod is the Master Sword equivalent. They both have sealing abilities and spirits housed in them (Psi and Fi respectively), but the Sovereign Rod is essentially an all-in-one magic rod that uniquely utilizes light magic as well.
Less a core concept and more just a little note, but Lorulean and Lorellen both have their uses. Lorulean is the general term for any living being originating from Lorule and its dimension (the same applies to Hyrulean and Hyrule); Lorellen, meanwhile, is specifically for the race of people with pointed ears and ties to the Goddess Lorelle (much like Hylians and their goddess Hylia).
The Heroes & Their Quests
We have a lot of heroes and even more adventures that they’ve been on, and trying to remember everything can be difficult (even we have trouble with it sometimes lol), but hopefully this will help some. Of course, before we get into it, know that you can always find the extended summarizations of each quest both here on Tumblr and also on AO3 where the adventures are separated as chapters. There will be links in the titles for each individual quest in this post as well – with some exceptions – so that you may read them in full in chronological order; however, there will be trivia, written works, and art mixed in for several quests, so if you’d prefer to read without all of that in the way, AO3 will be the cleaner and recommended way to go.
Origin, the first Ravio
Quest(s) and Parallels:
The Origin of the Hero: The tale of how Origin tries to put an end to the reign of terror caused by the Demon King, but doesn’t quite succeed. This quest parallels the one illustrated in the comic found at the end of the Hyrule Historia, though some tweaks have been made to the first Link’s tale to suit our needs.
Empyrean
Quest(s):
Fivefold Flame: The story of the second Ravio’s journey from the sky to the land below, to save Hilda from a demon called Allure and bring the people of Skyloft down to the surface world; the Sovereign Rod is first forged here, and maintains a role similar to the Master Sword’s. This quest parallels Skyward Sword, and Empyrean and Sky (aka the Link of SS) are direct counterparts to each other.
Sylvan
Quest(s):
The Hero of Men: There’s no game equivalent to this one, just The Minish Cap’s legend of a hero after Skyward Sword but before the events of MC. This is not that hero, but Sylvan is his counterpart, and his adventure takes place in the world of Methorion where the four courts of the fairies rule and a particularly wicked one likes to cause trouble.
Vex
Quest(s):
The Dark Mirror: Actually Four Swords Adventures (comic and game), but from Shadow Link’s perspective. In this, Ravio is the villain, though only because of the intense brainwashing he underwent from Ganondorf. Naturally, Vex and Four (the hero of the Four Sword) are direct counterparts.
Band of Memories: The tale of Shadow Link relearning his past as Ravio while dealing with a nasty curse placed on him, and saving the land around Lorule Town by proxy.
Viola (Frost/Rime), Space (Blaze/Flare), and Flow (Gust/Zephyr)
Quest(s):
Viola of Space: Aka The Ocarina of Time’s counterpart (and subsequently the Hero of Time’s counterparts) that involves three Ravio’s from different parallel dimensions working together. These three are responsible for Lorule’s wonky merged dimension shenanigans due to their involvement with one another and the endings that each member of the trio experienced, which are:
The Successful Hero Ending: Frost successfully protects Lorule’s Triforce from being destroyed and lives on peacefully. His dimension parallels the Adult timeline for Hyrule, and also experiences a massive flood later down the line, resulting in the Great Sea Era.
The Vanished Hero Ending: Halfway through the quest – when the trio are working together in the Spirit Realm – Gust gets pulled out of Lorule and into Hyrule by Ganondorf, ultimately becoming Ocarina of Time’s Dark Link. As a result, his dimension’s Triforce is almost completely destroyed, and only fragments are salvaged by Princess Hilda. This drastic change in balance is largely responsible for turning Lorule into The Twilight Realm.
The Failed Hero Ending: The Triforce is completely destroyed due to the Sovereign Rod also being destroyed and balance failing to be restored, which leads into the eventual events of A Link Between Worlds as Blaze flees to another world entirely instead of searching for a solution. Predictably, this dimension parallels the Fallen Hero timeline for Hyrule.
Compass
Quest(s):
Storm Chaser: The quest that follows after the successful ending for VoS and involves Ravio sailing around the ocean fixing spacial anomalies to hunt down Yuga– a sorcerer that turned multiple crew-mates of Compass’s and his captain into paintings on the walls. Naturally, this Ravio is the counterpart to Wind Waker’s Link.
Infinity Key: A demon is brainwashing stranded sailors, and Compass’s little sister, Rose, has been kidnapped. It’s up to Ravio to traverse the different realms layering his world, as well as The Realm of Janus.
Mixed Signals: New Lorule is still being established when some wonky groundhog day shenanigans begin to ensue.
Shade
Quest(s):
Twilight Princess: It’s exactly the same story as the game, just from the perspective of the Twili. There is no grand fight, just Princess Hilda and Ravio working together to keep what few citizens are left safe from Zant’s magic until the return of Princess Midna. We dive a little more into Twili politics during this section. Predictably, this Ravio is the counterpart to this era’s Link, and the quest follows the vanished hero ending of VoS.
Sketch
Quest(s):
Ravio’s Awakening: Much like Link’s Awakening, Ravio falls into a god’s dream and must adventure through it if he wants to wake up. Unfortunately, the dream is far more idyllic than the waking world... At least at first. This quest occurs roughly around the same time as ALttP, following the failed ending of VoS, with Sketch as the counterpart to The Hero of Legend.
A Link Between Worlds: Many years down the line, the events of this game finally take place. Yuga convinces Princess Hilda to try and steal Hyrule’s Triforce, and it’s up to Ravio to get a hero that can stop them.
Atlas
Quest(s):
The Adventure of Ravio: Prince Ravio (aka Atlas), the younger brother to Princess Hilda and the counterpart to the Link from Zelda 1 and 2, hears wind of some devious rumors spreading and decides to investigate.
Oracle of Elements: Atlas has been sent on a diplomatic mission to Periploxa; however, plans go awry when his ship gets capsized in a storm and he’s stranded on the land of Eidolodia instead. It’s up to him and the Oracle of Truths, Pavhalla, to solve the strange happenings going on in the kingdom – chaotic weather, and a missing Oracle known as Mun – before Ravio can make his way to his next destination.
Oracle of Dimensions: Eidolodia has successfully been brought back to order and the villain has been detained. Now, they have to clear up the strange fog distorting the paths of Periploxa while hunting down the missing paintings from the local art museum, at least according to Klino, the Oracle that’s been locked away inside of a painting herself. By the end of these two quests, the Sovereign Rod will be restored to its full glory.
Saccharine Fantasies: Ya’ll don’t get to know anything about this one (yet) except that it’s the Triforce Heroes of Lorule and Atlas’s vacation in Lotopia does not go as planned. This one is Big Plot Relevant so if u wanna know more ur gonna have to try and piece together whatever context clues we give u
Battler
Quest(s):
Lorule Warriors: Taking place at the same time as Hyrule Warriors (or closer towards the latter portion of it at least), strange portals are opening up and entirely different land masses are replacing others. Worse yet, one of the commanding officers, Yuga, has turned traitor and teamed up with the invading forces, and now Princess Hilda and her most trusted friend and medic, Ravio, must gather new allies while attempting to fix the chaos that’s broken out.
Melior
Quest(s):
10,000 Years Ago: After the events of the previous era, Lorule has become a magically tumultuous land with unpredictable weather, floating islands, bottomless chasms, and unexplainable distortions– all due to the steady merging of the three dimensions that had remained mostly separate before. Although a permanent solution is out of their hands, Princess Hilda and Ravio – a member of one of several tribes of the Necroi people – have a rough idea on how to hold their world together when the three dimensions begin to diverge again, at least until someone more capable can truly stabilize it. Melior’s counterpart is, of course, the hero from 10,000 years prior to Breath of the Wild.
Warp
Quest(s):
Call of the Arcane: The final Ravio in the chain and the Lorulean counterpart to the Link from Breath of the Wild. His quest is all about bringing stability to his homeland, hunting down new sages and building massive contraptions that will direct the flow of magic saturating Lorule.
The Different Peoples of Lorule
You’ll find that Lorule has a ton of different races and cultures populating the land, much like its sister world, Hyrule. Some names you’ll find familiar, of course, and others not so much; but, we strive to have an equivalent for most everything, so while the names may be different and some of the traits, there will ultimately always be some similarities in the mix as well.
Servins: Inhabiting the Vhallas region’s jungle, they’re snake-like creatures that tend to disguise themselves as vines. They’re of course the Kikwi counterparts, hailing from the Era of the Goddess (Fivefold Flame/Skyward Sword and earlier).
Kelonas: They’re eels... but with shells. A little more like snapping turtles, in fact. They’re the ancestors of the Ku, existing in the same era as the Servin’s and occupying Arboria Lake in the same region. They’re the Lorulean version of the Parella.
Penooki: The Mogma parallels, also from the Goddess Era. They’re feathered, yeti-like creatures living around the snowy landscape of Mount Mun. Eventually, they’ll evolve into two separate species: the Anouki and the Yook.
Capiri: The Minish and Picori of Lorule. They’re more akin to will-o-the-wisps and brownies, with a tendency for pulling mostly harmless pranks.
Krythos: The Goron counterparts. Their main defining trait is the crystals that grow from their backs.
Ku: The Zora equivalents. These guys appear in several games – including A Link Between Worlds – and are green skinned with shells on their backs, and a singular eye on their head.
Yurikan: They’re the Sheikah of the land, though they sport black hair and blue eyes as opposed to white hair and red eyes.
Zaberov: Witches that inhabit the swamps of the kingdom, generally having bright orange hair and milky skin. Their Hyrulean counterparts are the Gerudo.
Chee: A winged people with the features and wings of a bat, usually dwelling in caves and enjoying the night life. Their counterparts are naturally the Rito people.
Cevel: The Korok equivalent, though they look more like moss-covered jackalopes (rabbits with antlers on their heads).
Leima Thorns: Evolved from the Servins, they’re a lizard-esque people with thorns covering their bodies. They’re the counterparts to the Deku Scrubs.
The Great Leima Stag: Guardian of the woods and a powerful deity, this is the Lorulean version of The Great Deku Tree.
Cerevel: The mischievous children of the forest that follow the lead of the Leima Stag and the counterparts to the Kokiri. Their homes are built higher up in the trees.
Hupelaneans: Hooded people living beneath Eidolodia, though unlike the Subrosians, the Hupelaneans survive off of ice water.
The Necroi: A large community of people with a mix of ancestry from all versions of the Lorellen race throughout the three dimensions/timelines. They’re separated into several distinct tribes and are masters of magic, and are also the counterparts to the Zonai.
