I just saw one anon saying that Gillian being autistic biotic is gross. I find it quite splendid that they actually introduced a genious with disability. I have personal contacts to autistic community and I am pleased to see autistic biotic :D What is your opinion?
I think (HOPE) the anon was taking issue with how Gillian’s autism was presented in the books, not that she was autistic.Â
I think it’s great to have autistic characters in the mass effect universe! And I like Gillian a lot, I think she’s someone who has been through a lot of pain/upheaval in her life but still cares deeply about others.
This Helping Hands.. I havent heard much of it, could you enlighten me more of it?

To give you a quick over view:
Helping Hands is about two girls going around helping with things in their lives, and making friends and having shenanigans along the way.
Our protagonist is Lumina Nox
Who is an energetic plucky girl who can not ignore when people need help! This results in her getting into various things that range from finding a lost pet, to helping wrangle bulls for a ranch. (Don’t ask how that happens!)
And while Lumina has all the good intentions, she usually ends up in way over her head (but she’s too optimistic to realize it, and attacks everything with boundless enthusiasm).
That’s when Saira Seigel comes in:

Saira is Lumina’s ever faithful quiet companion. She isn’t shy. Just placid, and doesn’t need to say anything unless necessary. Saira is the reason most of Lumina’s shenanigan’s succeed. You see she can do anything. But it’s played up for gags. Lumina needs to help the baseball team? Saira is like an olympic level player. But she doesn’t really play baseball that much. hm. “NO WAY!” says the bystanders!!
And that’s how it goes, from one shenanigan to another, where we meet other characters. Altan Beckett is the red head. He’s a rougish kinda guy who likes to get in trouble, and falls in love with Lumina.
We meet Violet, who actually is the color violet. A shy artist who Lumina vows to make a thousand friends.
And then Rafe Lee Scott, the big galoot who is easily pushed around by cruel people who take advantage of his naivety and sincerity. He has a crush on Violet that renders him completely inept. Once trying to give her a bouquet, panicking, and choosing to swallow the whole thing, than let her see it!!
Thats the basic run down any way!
