Joy is a story a working mother named Joy Mangano, played by Jennifer Lawrence, who invented an incredible mop back in the nineties. Not only was she super busy, but she was frustrated with normal mops. So she invented the Miracle Mop. It has 300 feet of continuous looped cotton, so it’s incredibly absorbent and can be wrung out easily. And you don’t wring it out with your hands. Ewww! No, that’s disgusting. With self-wringing action, you stay clean. I’m so tired of filthy disgusting used up mops! Dang! I wish I could just throw them in the washing machine! What? You can throw the Joy Miracle Mop’s head in the washing machine? After seeing this film, I’m definitely getting one of these mops.

This film is about the incredibly true story of Joy Mangano, the creator of the Miracle Mop. It takes you through the journey of her long struggle of bad luck, rejection, legal issues and family ties but ultimately she becomes a millionaire. Jennifer Lawrence, once again did an amazing job. So amazing that she got herself another Oscar nomination for the second time. Director David O. Russell (Silver Linings Playbook) did yet another impressive job with this one, especially with showing us who the Manganos are in Joy’s world. Her mother being glued to her bed watching Eighties soap operas, her father who pays more attention to finding a new girlfriend rather than his own car repair business and her sister who apparently has her own dreams & creations.
