This is a entry for @miphlinkweek event Miphlink week 2023 day 7: At the eve of battle and set in the same Federal Japan AU of my early Miphlink week story The day of vows. Tears of the Kingdom Ganondorf design is part of my inspiration for this Federal Japan AU, so he get a mention in this story. Also Link's horse is one of the horse I have in Breath of the Wild, whose name I use google translate to give a Japanese name.

Link is finishing up putting on the last of his armor, making sure his samurai armor has covered his body. Months after his marriage to Mipha, there are stories of a dangerous warlord named Ganondorf whose is on a warpath to the capital of the nation, with Zora Domain right in his way. This lead to the call for warriors and soldiers, from all walk of life in Zora Domain, to go into battle to defend their home from this mad warrior, whose is said to be a demon that has ride a horse from Hell. As he is married into the head family that ruled Zora Domain, Link is one of the samurai whose is to serve in war.

As Link look at himself in the mirror, Mipha enter the room, wearing her usual red and blue kimono, with sadness in her eyes. Once the servants, whose has been helping Link put on his armor, take their leave, Mipha ask her husband with sadness, "So, you are off to war, Link?" The samurai nod, "Yes. It's in my nature, Mipha. We both can't ignore that." Mipha lower her eyes and said, "I see..." Mipha put her hands on Link and said to him, "Please...." moving them to her whomb, "Come back safely for us."

When Mipha was young, she witness a group of Hylian knights visiting Zora’s Domain to talk about the increase in protecting the region due to some kind of prophecy, but was not allowed in the court yet, so she decide to listen in behind a pillar. Spying on the meeting, Mipha noticed a Hylian boy among the knights, wearing a green tunic, shorts, and a green cap. The boy has short blond hair and blue eyes, which look at her father with wonder as the king of the Zoras can be bigger than even his fellow Zoras. The boy then noticed Mipha hiding behind the pillar and she quickly run off before he could alert anyone of her present. The boy said to the head of the knight, “Dad, I’m going to go explore.” The head knight reply, “Alright Link, just don’t get lost.” and Link nod, and head off to follow that Zora.

Once she managed to get far, Mipha take a moment to breathe, and she start to wonder what is going on just as a young voice call out, “Hey!” and Mipha turn around to see that it is the same boy from earlier and he didn’t seem troubled about meeting her. Trying to act normal, Mipha greet the boy, “Hello there, little one.” and the boy said, “I saw you earlier. Why were you playing hide and seek?” Mipha sigh and said, “Actually, I was not allow in the meeting, so I run off when you spot me.” Mipha did ask the boy, “Did you tell anyone?” The boy shake his head, “No. My dad don’t often talk to me, so I sneak off to find you.” Glad that the boy didn’t tell anyone about her, Mipha said to him, “Thank you. You are a kind spirt.” The boy smile and said, “Thanks. I get that a lot from my mom.” He then hold out his hand and said, “I’m Link by the way! What is your name?” Mipha reply as she shake the boy’s hand, “My name is Princess Mipha.”

Mipha’s claws actually cut Link’s hand and she apologized, “I’m so sorry about that.” Taking the boy’s hand, Mipha use her powers to heal it, amazed the boy and he ask, “Whoa, can all Zoras do that?” Mipha reply, “Actually, the power to heal others is a rare ability for Zoras, even among my own family.”

Every year, Link would visit Zora’s Domain with his father, and he and Mipha would play with other Zora children. However, his reckless would get him hurt and Mipha would always heal him. Mipha wish that Link can be best friends with her little brother Sidon, as well encourage him to be brave. One day, the Zora royal family were informed that Link and his father couldn’t be visiting for some time due to Link training as a knight, and Mipha has start to worry how does it come to be.

Years passed back, and Hyrule is preparing for the threat of Calamity Ganon by unearthing the Guardians and the Divine Beast Vah Ruta. When Princess Zelda and her bodyguard, the Knight with the Sword that seal the darkness, visit Zora’s Domain, Mipha is allow in the meeting due to being older and her role as princess, and it was quite a surprise for Mipha that Zelda’s bodyguard is Link, except he has grown much taller. Link was not wearing his green tunic, but knight armor and there is a unique sword on his back. Mipha start to noticed that Link has become handsome for a Hylian, as well he doesn’t seem to show any emotions.

Once she and Link got a moment to themselves, Mipha said to him, “Well, Link. You’re grown since I last saw you.” Link only nod and he still keep his cold look. While wondering why Link didn’t make it clear he is glad to see her again, Mipha said, “And yet.... You have not changed.” When he didn’t reply, Mipha start to worry and ask Link, “Are you alright, Link? How are you?” Link didn’t speak, as if he is scare of speaking.

As the Hyrulean forces recover from their victory at Fort Hateno and their losses, with Link and Mipha get their weapons ready for future battles, a blond hair woman wearing farm clothes that show her to be a native of Hateno Village run up to Link and said to him, "Link!" The Hero of Hyrule recognized the woman and said, "Mom!" Mipha was suprised as she never knew Link's mother, since it was only Link and his father whose visit Zora's Domain, as he ask his mother, "Mom, what are you doing here?" Link's mother said as she hand Link a set of clothes, "These are my late birthday gift to you. You were busy with protecting Hyrule that I never got a chance to give them to you."

Link has been working on smashing rocks with a Iron Sledgehammer, looking for the gems he needed. His and Mipha anniversary is in a few weeks and he needed to make the perfect gift for her. As a wedding gift, Mipha was given a Sapphire Circlet, and Link needed something that could remind Mipha of her home at Zora's Domain. When the ore breaks, a pair of Luminous Stones come out and Link smile that he found it.

At their home at Hateno Village, Mipha start to worry about her husband Link. It's not ususual for Link to be out of the village for long, but she does worried about him, given their upcoming anniversary is late this week. Mipha hope something bad didn't happen to Link.

Just as she think about him, the front door open and Link enter, saying as he put his gear down on the floor, "Sorry I was late. I was busy that I almost forget the date." While Mipha is a bit upset, Link said as he get out a small box, "You have no idea how what I have to do to get the Rupees to have this made." This peak Mipha curiosity as Link walk up to her and hand her the box, telling her, "Go on. Open it."

Mipha is glad to see Link get along with the Zora children during his stay at Zora's Domain, as the Hylian champion would play with them as Princess Zelda were busy studing Vah Ruta, trying to understand how the divine beast works. It is moments like this that Mipha wonder if this is foreshadowing a possible future for Link and her.

After some time playing, the children are send home, leaving Link and Mipha to themselves, along with the roar of the waterfalls as the only noises. Link start saying to Mipha, with him unsure how to put it, "So.... it's good to see you again, Mipha." and Mipha reply, "The same to you, Link." As the hero start looking around, he notice a Star Fragment landed on the cliff above them, and Link said, "Ah, a Star Fragment! I hear that Great Fairies can used it to increase the protection of our clothes, so I will go get it so I can be better safe."

Link start climbing the rock wall, only for a loose rock to cause him to fall. Fortunately, Link didn't fall from high fall, but Mipha quickly move to catch him, which landed Link on top of the princess. The two friends freeze at this surprise turn of events and look at each other until the voice of Kodah call out, "Linny! The princess want to...." which the girl Zora stop when she see Link on top of Mipha, both teenagers look at the poor girl, as Kodah said in shock over what her young mind is making her think what she just saw, "Linny and Lady Mipha... You... You two are doing smooches together!" Kodah run off and Link get off of Mipha, which she quickly got up and try to said to the girl, "Little one, it's not what it look like!"

Link is training in the training ground of Hyrule Castle as Princess Zelda is doing her research on the guardians with Purah and Mipha, whose is the only champion at Hyrule Castle at the moment, watch him with happiness as Link certainly seem calm in his training. As Princess Zelda’s bodyguard, Link seem to not let anything get by him and he can be ready for any surprise attack. Mipha wonder if she can get him by surprise and walk behind Link, whose lovely blue eyes imagined a dangerous foe to practice. As Link prepare a strike against his image foe, he feel someone place a kiss on his cheek, causing him to throw the Master Sword to a target dummy by accident.

This is a entry for @miphlinkweek event Miphlinkweek2023 day 2: Proposal/wedding. This fanfiction is set in a Federal Japan AU with the Zoras as Hylians with their usual kimono colors is the colors of their main universe counterparts skins, and the wedding has a mix of Shinto wedding and western Cristian weddings. This story is also a test for the Shino wedding I planned to do on my entry for Inkag fluff week 2023.

Link walk left and right wearing his black robe, finding himself in his toughest challenge yet, which is making sure his wedding ceremony go off with any problems. For years, Link has been a freelance swordman, offering his services of protection to villages and clans during this age of war in Japan. Link never believed he would find happiness until he visit the Zora Domain, which he visited in his youth, and meet his childhood friend Mipha when he offer his services to the damiyo Dorephan. Mipha, whose is said to be a skilled healer and warrior in combat with the naginata, has grown to be a fine beautiful young woman since the years of their childhood, wearing a bring red and blue kimono with fish patterns. Soon, as time move on, the two friends become lovers, and Dorephan, Mipha's father, see evidence of this that he decided to have the two married. It is a nice idea that the both of them agreed, as well put Link in the position of being a samurai in service to Zora Domain.

However, marriage to a powerful family would lead to dealing with politics and that something that troubled Link. As he think, Link pause when he open a door open and watch as Mipha come out of her room, wearing a beautiful white kimono with a hood to hide her face from all others until the end of the wedding ceremony. Mipha's maidens has certainlly worked overtime to make their lady beauty for the ceremony as Link immediately said upon seeing Mipha, "You look beautiful." which Mipha smile. She hold her arm out and Link take it to lead the both of them to the room in the castle when the wedding ceremony is hold.

Link and Mipha enter the room where the wedding ceremony is hold and Mipha's family, her father and her younger but taller brother Sidon, were all sitting with some servants and a priest is at the center of the room, standing before a altar. Arm to arm, the two then walk to the altar and come before the priest, whose begins with some words, "Benevolent spirits of the ancestors, thank you for gathering us here today and for bringing these two in reunion. It is thank to you that Link and Mipha are blessed with each other and has come as one."

Three cups of different sizes are place in the altar and holy water are pour into them as the priest said, "Now, let the would-be married couple drink the holy water to represent their future as a happy father, a happy mother, and a child that would be born into their blessed life." Link the first cup, which was the smallest cup, and hand it to Mipha, whose drink from it. Next, Miha then drink from the second cup and hand it to Link to drink it. The order of the ones to drink from the third is a repeat of the drinking order of the first cup, with Link and then Mipha. Once the three cups are put away, the priest put evergreen on the altar and said, "Spirits of the ancestors, we place this evergreen to reflect our gratitude of you spirits for blessing their union. It is with your powers and the blessings of the goddess Hylia that they come together as one." The priest then said, "Now, I call for the ring bearer to bring forward the ring." A child put two silver rings on a pillow onto the altar next to the evergreen.

As the silver rings are lay on the altar, the priest said, "You may exchange the rings and make your wedding vows." Link put the wedding ring on Mipha's finger as he said, "I, Link, take thee, Mipha, to be my wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part, according to Hylia's holy ordinance; and thereto I pledge thee my faith." Soon, it was Mipha's turn to make her vows as she put the wedding ring on Link's finger, "I, Mipha, take thee, Link, to be my wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part, according to Hylia's holy ordinance; and thereto I pledge thee my faith."
