How do I check what my account’s email address is?
If you are logged in:
Go to your Preferences page (Select "Hi, [USERNAME]!" at the top of the page, and choose "My Preferences" from the drop-down list)
Click on the “Change Email” button at the top of the page
Your email address will be listed on that page, next to “Current email”
If you are not logged in:
Check your email account for recent emails from AO3, such as subscription notifications or kudos and comment emails.
Look at the “To:” field to see what email address is associated with your account.
You will need to enter this email address exactly as it is listed here in order to receive a password reset email.
How do I change my email address? What if I don't have access to my old email address?
You don't need access to your old email address to change it to a new one, as long as you also know your current password.
Log in
Go to your Preferences page (Select "Hi, [USERNAME]!" at the top of the page, and choose "My Preferences" from the drop-down list)
Click on the “Change Email” button at the top of the page
In both the “New email” and “Enter new email again” fields, enter an email address that you have access to
In the “Password” field, enter your current password
Click the “Confirm Email” button
On the next page, make sure that the banner displays the correct new email address
Click the "Yes, Confirm Email" button
Check your new email address for an email titled “[AO3] Confirm your email change”
Click on the confirmation link in that email, making sure to open it in a browser where you are already logged in
Go to the “Change Email” page and double-check that your “Current email” has been successfully updated.
If you still see the banner saying your email change is pending, the most likely reason for this is that you were logged out before you clicked the confirmation link. Make sure to log in to your account before following the email confirmation link, or open the link in a browser where you are already logged in.
I know my current password, but I'm afraid my password is insecure. How can I change my password to a stronger one?
First, refer to the above instructions for checking or updating your email address, so that you can receive a password reset in case your password is insecure. Then:
Log in
Go to your Preferences page (Select "Hi, [USERNAME]!" at the top of the page, and choose "My Preferences" from the drop-down list)
Click on the “Change Password” button at the top of the page
Enter your current password into the “Old password” field
Enter your new password into both the “New password” and “Confirm new password” fields
Click the “Change Password” button
You will be automatically logged out on all devices.
If, upon logging in, you receive a message saying your password is insecure, then the new password you chose was insecure and you can't use it to log back in. You will need to reset your password (refer to the below instructions) and select a more secure password this time. You can use a password generator to choose a stronger password.

The most likely reasons the password reset didn't work are:
You are entering the wrong email address for your AO3 account. Refer to the above instructions on how to check what your account's email address is.
Your email provider is blocking emails from AO3 or sending them to spam/social folders. Search for an email titled “[AO3] Reset your password”.
Your email account doesn't have enough storage and can't receive new emails. You'll need to delete old emails, photos, or videos to empty your storage before requesting a password reset.
You requested multiple password resets in a short time period, resulting in either a “Retry later” page or the link in the first password reset email becoming invalid. Please wait at least one hour before trying again, only submit the form once, and make sure you are using the link in the most recent password reset email.
The new password you chose was insecure, so you can't use it to log back in. You will need to reset your password again and select a more secure password this time. You can use a password generator to choose a stronger password.
I don't know my password/my password is insecure, and I don't know or have access to my account's email address.
You will need to submit a Support ticket containing the following information:
your username

Chapter Three: I’m drunk and I’m ready to leave
Leon offers to walk you home, and since you’re so close you let him. Maya doesn’t fight you on it, trusting your judgment, but she wiggles her eyebrows as she watches you both leave.
The night feels twisted, as if the world has decided to stop paying attention to whatever happened inside that bar and you’re the only one still stuck with it.
Leon walks beside you without rushing you, and you steal a glance at him. He’s looking forward, hands in his pockets, expression composed in an unfair manner considering the insane bar tab he paid for, and the statement he had displayed. Kissing you in front of everyone was nothing more than a decision he made and followed through on.
Your stomach flips at the memory anyway.
“So,” you say, trying for casual and sounding the opposite. “you just…do that often?”
Leon hums faintly, considering the question.
“No,” he says. “Not really.”
When you make it to your apartment and unlock your door, you hesitate for half a second before pushing it open. Warm air spills out, and you step inside first, kicking off your shoes automatically, trying to pretend your heartbeat isn’t hammering behind your ribs. Leon follows you in a moment later, the door clicks shut behind him.
Silence settles and you move automatically, bag down, keys on the counter, shrugging off your jacket, needing to do something with your hands.
Leon doesn’t move further in right away. He just watches you, and you feel it before you look up, the weight of his attention. When you finally meet his eyes, he’s still standing near the door.
“Waiting for permission?” you ask softly before you can stop yourself.
“No,” he hums, the cords of muscle in his throat shifting. “Just didn’t want to assume.”
You turn toward him fully now, leaning back against your counter. “You kissed me in front of a whole bar.”
“I know.”
“And now you’re being polite?”
A corner of his mouth twitches. “I can do both.”
You laugh under your breath despite yourself. Leon finally moves further into the room, just enough to close the distance he left intentionally open.
“You okay?” he asks after a moment.
It’s so simple it almost throws you. You blink. “After… all of that? Or right now?”
“Both.”
“Yeah,” you admit. You study him with a tilt of your face. “I think I am. I just… didn’t expect you to do that.”
“I didn’t plan it,” he says.
“You didn’t?”
“No,” Leon says, and his voice has taken on a softer sound. “I planned on talking to you. That was it.”
“Fair.” You glance at him, then away, then back again, your brain unable to decide how to behave. “So what happens now?”
“You tell me to leave,” he says quietly, “and I do, that’s one option.”
“And the other?” you ask. Your throat is a little dry. His gaze drops to your mouth for half a second.
“I stay,” he replies. “If you want that.”
Your heart feels like it’s making up for every moment it’s been quiet all day. You take a breath, and instead of answering with words, you close the distance between you slowly, giving him every chance to move away if he wants to. He doesn’t.
When you reach him, you stop just close enough that your breath mingles with his. You tilt your head up slightly, and then he meets you halfway.
His lips are warm, no hesitation now. His hand comes up and settles at your waist, firm and warm. When he pulls back just enough to breathe, he doesn’t let go.
His eyes stay on yours, ensuring he hasn’t read this wrong. You can feel how close he still is, too close to think clearly, and not close enough to hide anything.
“You’re…” you start, then immediately lose it.
“What?” he asks.
You exhale through your nose, trying to get your brain back online.
“Different,” you say finally.
“I said I don’t usually do this.” He reminds you.
You let out a quiet, almost disbelieving breath. “Yeah. I got that.”
There’s the faintest shift in his expression, something softer at the edges. His thumb moves once at your waist, and you surpress a shiver.
“Is that a problem?” he asks.
You shake your head slightly. “No. It’s just… a lot.”
“A lot good?” he asks quietly, voice careful.
You nod again before you can stop yourself, and his body seems to loosen. The line between his shoulders relaxes another fraction and then, without warning, he leans down and kisses you again.
A warmth bubbles around you, settling under your skin. It doesn’t flicker out quickly, but holds, winding around your heart in a way that makes your muscles squeeze. He pulls back and leans his forehead against yours for a moment, lashes brushing his cheeks.
You don’t give him a chance to doubt this, or you. Instead, you cup his face and pull him in. This kiss is different, both of you finally landed in the same place at the same time. He responds immediately, the tension in him easing even more.
When you break for air, he stays close.
“If I take your clothes off tonight,” he murmurs, “I want to be here in the morning.”
You take his hand and pull him to your room. You get a sense of de ja vu from the first night, and it makes you uncertain. The door clicks shut behind him, and your brows knit slightly before you can stop it. You try to stay present anyway, try to keep moving forward, but the feeling sticks in the background like static.
“Hey.” Leon steps closer, slow enough that you have every chance to pull away if you want to. When you don’t, his hands come up gently, cupping your face. “I’m here. Okay? With you. Not anywhere else.”
His thumbs brush lightly along your cheekbones, and it’s as if he can read your mind. The tension in your shoulders eases just a fraction, and he notices that too.
Only then does his touch shift, still asking without words. His hands slide from your face down to your shoulders, then your back, fingers finding the zipper of your dress but pausing for the smallest second before moving.
“Tell me if anything feels off,” he says softly, then he starts to unzip it, making sure every movement stays yours as much as his. When he leans in again, his forehead brushing yours for a brief moment, his voice drops even lower.
“You’re not alone in this,” he says. “Not for a second.”
When your dress loosens at the shoulders, Leon doesn’t rush to push it off you. Instead, his hands glide back up your arms and then gently over your collarbones before settling on either side of you again. He kisses you once more before his mouth moves to your jaw next, a slow trail of light presses that make heat pool low in your stomach. He takes his time mapping each part he touches, electricity buzzing over your skin in its wake.
The dress slips off one shoulder, then the other. Leon doesn’t pull it down completely, he waits for you to shrug out of it yourself. There’s no pressure in his stillness, and he steps back, pulling his shirt off, and the fabric finds the floor. You leave your dress crumpled, moving to your bed and settling on your knees on the mattress. He approaches you, cupping your face and you nuzzle your mouth into his palm, your lashes fluttering. You hear him sigh, and then he’s tugging you forward, lifting you up into his arms, your legs wrapping around his waist. He turns, sitting down as your thighs bracket his hips, the denim of his jeans a rough press against the cotton of your underwear.
Leon leans back just enough to look at you before his hands slide up your thighs, warm and sure. His lips find yours again, and one hand slips behind your neck to hold you there while the other traces slow circles over your hipbone.
He kisses down your jawline next, teeth grazing lightly, not biting hard enough to leave a mark unless asked for, but testing how much pressure makes you shiver against him. When he reaches the curve where shoulder meets throat? He breathes you in, pressing an open-mouthed kiss right over your pulse point that thrums under his lips.
You grind against him, your hands braced on his shoulders and when you feel his length you gasp, repeating the motion. Leon grunts into your mouth, and his hips rise to meet yours.
It becomes a frenzy of pulling off clothing and kisses and teeth. You slip from his lap as he tugs down his jeans and you pull off your underwear. When he springs free, you hum, dropping to your knees.
“You don’t have to-”
“I’ll be quick.” You half smile, repeating what he had said to you that first night, and he smiles too, the expression faltering when you lick up his cock.
You sink down further and-
His hips jerk slightly without meaning to when your lips wrap fully around him, a reflex, and immediately afterward guilt flashes across his face because even though every nerve is screaming at how good this feels, he doesn’t want it rushed unless that's what you actually want too.
You hum again around him, the sound making his coherent thoughts short circuit. You pull him from your mouth, spit shiny on your lower lip as you stand up. He reaches for you before his thumb swipes at your mouth, and then presses on your tongue. You crowd into his lap, his finger a warm weight in your mouth as you lean up to align him with your entrance. He pulls his hand away before leaning to the side, fumbling for your side drawer, and you still so he can grab a condom. Tearing it with his teeth, he slides it on, and when he looks at you his eyes are blown.
Leon exhales sharply as you sink down onto him, slow at first, testing the stretch, letting your body adjust. His hand flies to your hips instantly, fingers pressing into warm skin like he’s trying to ground himself through touch alone.
A rough sound escapes his throat when you bottom out, half groan, half something else entirely, and he falls back into the mattress. you blink quickly at the intrusion of him before you look down. His eyes shut tight, jaw clenched so tight you can see muscle working in his cheek. His eyes open again and lock onto yours, dark now with want that's been carefully banked for weeks.
Leon’s hands slide up your sides, calloused palms rough against soft skin, but his touch stays warm. When he lifts his hips slightly to meet yours in a shallow roll, you moan, and it’s his undoing.
He surges up suddenly, not all the way sitting yet, but enough that his mouth crashes into yours again while one hand fists gently in your hair and tilts your head back just so he can kiss deeper. His other arm wraps around your waist like a rope as the pace shifts from slow exploration to something hungrier.
The rhythm builds naturally, his hips rising to meet yours, your thighs squeezing around his waist for leverage. Every drag of him inside you pulls another breathy sound from one or both of you, and the room fills with quiet noises, skin against skin, shared breaths between kisses that are more teeth than lips.
Leon breaks the kiss only to trail his mouth down your throat again, sucking lightly over a spot just above your collarbone. He nips at sensitive skin there too before soothing it with his tongue.

His fingers find your clit just right, a firm circle first, then pressure exactly where it burns most, and when combined with the deep thrusts rolling into you, it’s nearly overwhelming. Leon watches every flicker across your face, parted lips, fluttering lashes, breath catching in short gasps. He adjusts instantly to whatever reactions come through, speeding up or slowing depending on what makes your back arch more off the bed toward him.
Sweat glistens at his temples and his jaw is clenched again, not from frustration this time but focus. He’s completely dialed in on you, chasing that moment when your body tenses right before falling apart.

“Fuck,” he groans, his pitch a little higher as he collapses onto you. You’re spent, sweaty and a little light headed as his body covers you. You run a hand into his hair, the ankles at his spine loosening as he slowly sits up, looking down at you with a smile.
“Shit,” you exhale, and when he pulls from you, you sit up slowly. “I- fuck, Leon.”
He reaches out to brush damp hair off your forehead, thumb lingering there and then he sits up.
“Yeah,” he agrees quietly, voice still rough around the edges from exertion. “You okay?”
It's such an him question, practical concern wrapped in that low tone of his that makes it feel more intimate than any romantic line could. He grabs the edge of the blanket beside you both and tugs it over your legs first without asking because even post-sex, Leon is thoughtful.
“I’m okay,” you murmur, scooting up the bed. “I- yeah I think I liked that.”
Leon’s mouth quirks at the corner, and then he follows you up, stretching his arms over his head with a quiet groan men make when their backs pop.
He grabs a water bottle from your nightstand, one you don’t remember putting it there, and takes a long swig before offering it to you without comment. When you take it, your fingers brush against his and for some reason that tiny contact makes warmth bloom in your chest all over again. Maybe because this feels normal now, being here with him in this way.
After chugging half the bottle himself earlier, Leon leans back against the headboard beside you. Your gaze drifts around your room like you’re suddenly seeing it from the outside. The half-finished version of something that maybe wasn’t supposed to happen this fast. Him here, your water bottle in his hand, his shirt slightly wrinkled and your heartbeat still not entirely back under control.
It hits you then, soft and sharp at the same time.

Because whatever this is, this closeness, this ease, the way your body already seems to know him, it doesn’t feel like a one-night thing. It also doesn’t feel defined enough to be anything else yet.
You swallow, turning the empty bottle between your fingers. “I don’t really know what this is,” you admit quietly, eyes still down. “Between us.”
Leon shifts slightly, turning toward you. When he speaks, his voice is lower now, steadier. “Yeah,” he says, like he’s acknowledging the truth of it instead of disputing it. “I figured you might say something like that.”
You glance at him and he’s already looking at you. His hand moves until his fingers brush your wrist.
“You don’t have to label it tonight,” he murmurs. “Or figure it all out right now.” A breath catches somewhere in your chest. He tilts his head slightly, studying you. “But I don’t want this to be confusing in the way that makes you think I’m not serious.”
Your fingers still. His thumb shifts once, a small but solid motion against your skin, and it makes you smile. You aren’t completely sure why.
“I want to take you out,” he says simply. No hesitation this time. “Properly. Not just… this.”
Your brows knit a little. “This isn’t-”
“I know,” he cuts in gently, not dismissive, just certain. “But I mean I want to do it right. A date. Dinner. Somewhere you actually get dressed up and I show up on time and I don’t just end up here by accident.” A faint, almost reluctant curve touches his mouth again. “And I keep doing it, until you stop wondering where you stand with me.”
You stare at your hands, and then at his face before you nod. “I think I’d like that.”
His arm comes around you, light at first, then a little more certain when you don’t move away.
“C’mere,” he murmurs.
You go easily, curling into him, your body understanding before your thoughts can catch up. His hand rests at your back, steady and unhurried, like he’s not in a rush and simply content to be beside you.
A silence stretches between you again, but this time it’s different. Leon exhales slowly, and when he leans down, his lips brushing your shoulder. Your eyes flutter shut.
The last thing you hear is his voice, low against the quiet of your room.
“Sleep,” he says simply.
And for once, your thoughts don’t argue.
You let yourself sink into him completely, breathing even, body warm, the edge of uncertainty finally fading into the soft fabrics of your mind.
Outside, the night keeps moving. Inside, you don’t; not anymore.

Click on the “Change Email” button at the top of the page
Your email address will be listed on that page, next to “Current email”
If you are not logged in:
Check your email account for recent emails from AO3, such as subscription notifications or kudos and comment emails.
Look at the “To:” field to see what email address is associated with your account.
You will need to enter this email address exactly as it is listed here in order to receive a password reset email.
How do I change my email address? What if I don't have access to my old email address?
You don't need access to your old email address to change it to a new one, as long as you also know your current password.
Log in

Check your new email address for an email titled “[AO3] Confirm your email change”
Click on the confirmation link in that email, making sure to open it in a browser where you are already logged in
Go to the “Change Email” page and double-check that your “Current email” has been successfully updated.
If you still see the banner saying your email change is pending, the most likely reason for this is that you were logged out before you clicked the confirmation link. Make sure to log in to your account before following the email confirmation link, or open the link in a browser where you are already logged in.
I know my current password, but I'm afraid my password is insecure. How can I change my password to a stronger one?
First, refer to the above instructions for checking or updating your email address, so that you can receive a password reset in case your password is insecure. Then:
Log in

Click on the “Change Password” button at the top of the page
Enter your current password into the “Old password” field
Enter your new password into both the “New password” and “Confirm new password” fields
Click the “Change Password” button
You will be automatically logged out on all devices.
If, upon logging in, you receive a message saying your password is insecure, then the new password you chose was insecure and you can't use it to log back in. You will need to reset your password (refer to the below instructions) and select a more secure password this time. You can use a password generator to choose a stronger password.

The most likely reasons the password reset didn't work are:
You are entering the wrong email address for your AO3 account. Refer to the above instructions on how to check what your account's email address is.
Your email provider is blocking emails from AO3 or sending them to spam/social folders. Search for an email titled “[AO3] Reset your password”.
Your email account doesn't have enough storage and can't receive new emails. You'll need to delete old emails, photos, or videos to empty your storage before requesting a password reset.
You requested multiple password resets in a short time period, resulting in either a “Retry later” page or the link in the first password reset email becoming invalid. Please wait at least one hour before trying again, only submit the form once, and make sure you are using the link in the most recent password reset email.
The new password you chose was insecure, so you can't use it to log back in. You will need to reset your password again and select a more secure password this time. You can use a password generator to choose a stronger password.
