In a rash moment of her youth, Li Zhaoyun committed a terrible mistake that not even ten thousand reincarnations can fix. As a result, she was able to learn how tall the heavens and earth are as well as how many dangers there are in a lifetime.
The night is a period that always gives one a gloomy, ghastly feeling, making people unable to fully cherish its endless beauty. However, it is not the darkness that covers every organism under its black layers that makes people naturally avoid it but whatever happens behind the thick layer of fog.
On a certain night, countless footsteps rashly echoed into the chilly night sky, leaving swish swashing sounds behind in the dangerous bamboo forest. After hearing it, a woman hastily emerged from the bamboo grove, one hand holding a branch drenched in blood, the other, holding on to a small child.
This personâs expression was as white as snow, sweat drenching her entire body. Her raggy inner clothes were drenched in a sight of red blossoms, making her look exactly like a female demon who enjoys harming others. Just from the intense smell of blood and the form as rigid as ice is enough for people to acknowledge that their wounds are not light.
The child within her hold, hugs her sleeves tightly, âNiang*.â
*Niang (ćš) - mother*
When the woman heard the calls of the child, she gently stroked her head, comforting her, â Do not be afraid, niang is here.â
When the child heard this, the yatou* immediately shakes her head, hands tightening her hold of the sleeve, â I am not scared. Is niang alright?â
*Yatou (䞫怎) - girl, can be use as a term of endearment or insult*
â I am fine, weâre almost there, try to hold out for a bit more.â
The little yatou nods her head, arms wrapped tightly around the womenâs neck. Her eyes stared intensely at the back like someone was going to jump out from the groves.
Even though the little yatou looked a bit pitiful, no one can dare lie about the perceptiveness of her eyes, a worldly contrast to her current appearance. With just a light glance, it is enough to know that she is not of a common background. To summarize, her eyes are like a tiger's, no prey would dare to act under nose unless they want to bring danger to their home.
Suddenly, another person came out of the grove. This time, it was of the appearance of an older man, dressed not as proper as the others but the clothes were still of lavish materials, hinting that he is from a large clan. Even if he is from such a clan, just by looking at the situation, one would understand his own nature.
Before the woman can react, an arrow shoots through the air towards her, hitting the woman's back. Having just witnessed that, the small child screamed out but got blocked by her niangâs hand over her mouth. The little childâs hands were covered in blood, clothes turning a dark crimson.
â Where do you want to go, beauty? I have yet to be finished with you, even if you grow wings, you will never escape from me!â
The woman looked at the old manâs face, unable to resist a teasing smile from appearing on her lips, spitting out a disdainful comment. â Yang Zhucheng, I can not believe you can lower yourself to this extent.â
When the old man heard the scornful comment, his facial expression darken. He originally wanted to bring the woman back to become his consort but changed his mind after the insult. â Unruly woman! Let laozun* educate you in the stead of your zhangfu*!â
*Laozun (èć°) - old honorable, a term to address oneself in place of I*
*Zhangfu (äžć€«) - husband*
Hearing his unbelievable words, the woman glared at him, â Educate me? You have the capability?â
Taking in the womanâs words, Yang Zhucheng stroked his beard as he replied, â Why do I not have any capability? What does your clan have that is worthy of the peopleâs worship? Maybe from following the demonic ways!â
Initially, the womanâs face was snow whitebut after hearing his words, her expression farken several tones. â Stop talking! You do not have the right to speak ill of my clan!â
â At least, Zhongjian Yangshi can return to the right path unlââ
Before the old man could finish, the woman was quick to interrupt him, â Yang Zhucheng, you shameless person!â
â Clearly a noble woman of great lineage, whoâs fame reaches the end of the sky but does not know any better. You see, such a person should die with a non-intact body!â
Hearing those words from the old men, the yatou peaked up from behind her niang, pointing her finger towards him. â You!â
The old man raises his eyebrows at the yatouâs yelling. His eyes brightened up with disgusting interest as he thought of a way to convince the beauty.
The old man approached them, staring intently at the child as a smile appear on his lips. In a blink, the distance between them shortened immensely. â Or⊠I capture your child, command people to spread rumors about how Da Xiaojie* of Honglin Lishi has already followed the demonic ways to strengthen the reputation of her clan despite her young age. And after having enough fun and decided to run away. Iâm afraid that this lifetime, the cold will not live peacefully!â
*Da Xiaojie (性ć°ć§) - eldest lady*
As she heard that, the furen* bit her lips enough to draw blood. She hugged the child closer to her body, trying to cover the existence of the child away from the old man. â Even a child canât escape from you! You are dressed like an animal*â
*Furen (怫äșș) - term of address to a married woman*
*Dressed like an animal (èĄŁć çŠœć œ) - an idiom, describing an immoral and despicable person.*
The child cowered in fear within her niangâs holds, shivering in fear. Her eyes brimmed with liquid yet to fall. â Niang.â
Suddenly, the womanâs arms relax, no longer holding the child. Li furen stands up while looking at his sickening appearance. â Li An, run.â
The child shakes her head, hugging her niangâs thigh. â Iâm not going. Iâm not going.â
Yang Zhucheng smiles, â Stupid yatou.â
Li furen pushed Li An away with all her might, eyes glaring at her, wanting her to follow her wishes. â Gun*â
*Gun (æ») - Get lost, in a rude manner*
Hearing that, Li An can only look up at her, shakingly bringing herself to stand up. Â
â Beauty, what do you want to do?â
Seeing the child standing up, Li furen turned back to face Zhu Yangcheng. â If you want to bring me back, then die with me!â Li furen immediately rushed towards him.
Yang Zhucheng quickly stepped back to dodge, almost getting hit by the branch. After that, he aimed a punch at the bloody wound.
Li An panicked, letting out a scream, â Niang!â Â
â Why are you still here? Gun!â
The old man let out a long sigh, â Unexpectedly, the infamous Li furen has this kind of ending.â He bent down, fingers petting Li furenâs jade-like face slowly moving towards her smooth black hair. Before he can go elsewhere, something hard yet round hit his head. â Despicable yatou! Wait for me, beauty. Once I finish dealing with that yatou, I will come back for you.â
Upon hearing that, Li An panicked, body shaking to the extent of dropping the rock. She falls down to the ground miserably as her legs can no longer support her weight. â Donât come over here! Donât come over! Donât come over!â
Li furen shakingly extend out her hand, â AnâŠer*.â
*Er (ćż) - by adding er behind the name, it becomes a term of endearment, especially for parents to call their kids*
Li An, at the moment, still could not stand up, eyes intensely staring at the possessed-like smile of Yang Zhucheng. â Donât come here! I said, donât come here!â
Yang Zhucheng continues to approach her, lips curling into a horrendous smile, â I want to see how capable the Da Xiaojie of Honglin Lishi is!â
â Donât come over! Donât come over! AHhh!â
At that point, Li Zhaoyunâs eyes sprung open, body jumping out of bed. She immediately placed her hand over her chest, feeling her heartbeat. Once she had found it, she let out a long exhale before wiping the sweat on her forehead off. Although her entire body is sweating profusely, Li Zhaoyun felt as cold as ice.â
â Another dream.â
From the age of six, Li Zhaoyun has been dreaming the same exact nightmare of an event she cannot remember. Just as she opens her eyes, her consciousness returning to reality, it was as if she did not just went through a night of being paralized in bed, unable to escape the illusion. Her memory of the nightmare would be forgotten, making her unable to remember anything. Even years later, she was still unable to remember what had happened.
Li Zhaoyun shakily pushed herself out of bed, legs barely able to support her body. Looking around her round, she realized that it was still dark, only being illuminated by a single candle, creating a hazy light. âItâs still choushi*.â
*Choushi (äžæ¶) - two hours period between 1AM and 3 AM*
After changing her robes, Li Zhaoyun reached over the table to grab a long yet slim white fabric with spider lilies, the motif of Honglin Lishi sewn on them and tie it around her hair tightly. After putting on another layer, Li Zhaoyun step out of her room towards Huaji Tai.
Huaji Tai is the place for all of Honglin Lishiâs disciples to cultivate their sword play. Huaji talks about the use of youthful times to focus on cultivation, and not worry about the mortal world. Tai talks about the sword-fights between disciples to increase oneâs potential.
Standing in front of the gate, Li Zhaoyun glanced at the sign and smiled. Although it is still dark, Huaji Tai has always calmly welcomed her.
Huaji Tai remains unchangeable four seasons, tirelessly watching over Honglin and Luohua Fort. Truly the only place that survived after the Yi Xian Battle.
She quietly stopped up the familiar steps and directly entered Huaji Tai.
A few years have passed yet this place remains the same.
Suddenly, Li Zhaoyun stopped in her tracks, looking at her surroundings.
Strange, why did I sense a commotion?
However, before Li Zhaoyun can lift up her feet, a servant has come in front of her. â Li xiaojie, Li Zongzhu* wants to meet you.â
*Zongzhu (ćźäž») - head of clan*
Hearing that, Li Zhaoyun glanced at her, â Gumu* wants to meet me?â
*Gumu (ć§æŻ) - fatherâs married sister*
â Yes.â
â Why is gumu calling me at this time?â
She continues to stare at the little yatou, making her entire body shiver. â Nubi* donât know.â
Li Zhaoyun closes her eyes before opening them, letting out a sigh. â Good*, wait a bit for me.â
*Hao (ć„œ) - Good/ Fine/Alright, can be answered with a similar meaning to Yes, accepting the proposal*

Upon another mountain, a game of go has been abandoned. The pieces, half has already been carefully positioned on the board while the rest has yet to appear, swayed along with the wind. Sitting on each side are two middle aged people who were intently staring at the board. The one who holds the white pieces is a woman, with jade-like skin, hair as dark as the night yet still made people admire her upon hearing her name. She wore a crimson robe.
â Li Zongzhu, Da Xiaojie is waiting outside.â
Li Yanxia looked at the door and nodded, â Let her come in.â
â Yes,â the servant answered before quickly leaving the room.
â These past two years have gone by in a blink of an eye. Guanyu, how do you think Yun-er is doing?â Li Yanxia looks at the person whoâs facing towards the valley, looking at the scenery of Honglin.
â I am not sure.â
â Yun-er is the one and only daughter of you, Li Guanyu. How do you not know how she is doing?â
Before he can talk back, the servant reenters. â Li Zongzhu, Li Da Xiaojie have arrived.â
â Go.â
â Yes.â
Before coming here, Li Zhaoyun returned to her room to change into a more proper robe. She stepped into the room before making a bow. â Li An greets gumu, fuqin*â
*Fuqin (ç¶äșČ) - father*
Li Yanxia smiled, coming to help her stand up. â In the two years we havenât met, Yun-er has matured.â Li Guanyu nods his head, slowly approaching Li Yanxia and Li Zhaoyun. â Li An thank gumu,â Li Zhaoyun answered before looking in the direction of Li Guanyu. â Li An greets fuqin.â
Like the last time, Li Guanyu did not answer.
Seeing that, Li Yanxia closed her eyes, letting out a long sigh. â I wonât interfere with your own matters but today I have called the both of you about political matters, not reconnecting the both of you.â
Recognizing the tense atmosphere, Li Zhaoyun asked, â Gumu, what have you called Li An today for?â
Back to the topic, Li Yanxia answered, â Have you ever heard of Qinghe Nieshi?â
Li Zhaoyun furrows her eyebrow, Qinghe Nieshi? Why does this name sound familiar?
While thinking, she mindlessly asked. â Gumu, are you talking about the central continentâs Qinghe Nieshi?â
Li Yanxia nods her head, â Yes, the head of Qinghe Nieshi will be visiting Honglin.â
Visiting Honglin? Honglin Lishi, over the years, has not made any contact with those in the central continent so why is this happening?
â The reason you have called Li An is also related to this matter?â
While Li Yanxia nodded her head, Li Guanyu glanced at her with an unreadable expression.
After hearing it, Li Zhaoyun canât restrain herself, mindlessly standing there. What do you want Li An to do? â Gumu, why do the people of Qinghe Nieshi want to come visit Honglin?â
Li Yanxia does not answer, suddenly glance over to look at Li Guanyu. Noticing something out of the ordinary, Li Zhaoyun continues to stare at the two seniors, trying to find any clues. â Our Honglin Lishi has long not enter the political scene, especially of the central continentâs. However, currently⊠such a chââ
Unable to finish, she flinched at Li Guanyuâs glance, putting her head down, not daring to continue speaking. Even though he is also wearing the crimson robes of Honglin Lishi, she feels coldness seeping to her core at his stare.
Seeing Li Zhaoyunâs change in posture, Li Yanxia could only shake her head and continue, â Yun-er, do you still remember the reason why I let you leave?â
She immediately nods as Li Yanxia changes the topic, â Yes. Gumu wants Li An to observe the changes outside of Honglin.â
Li Yanxia smiles, â AndâŠâ
Li Zhaoyun glanced up, looking into Li Yanxiaâs eyes and gently answered, â You want Li AnâŠâ

Synopsis: Like any other, she hopes to have power. Coming from a noble house in the wizarding world, that should've been an obvious privilege but for her, it was exhausting to achieve.
In her first life, she committed a crime that she was unable to fix even until her last breathe. Unfortunately, that followed her to her next life. In this life, she was determined to fix her mistake but it resulted to her being pushed off the edge of death. Finally, on her third life, she could care less about it and wanted to live a peaceful life.
However, it seems as though her past have chased her even in this life.
She is Xing Forest, the unfavored child of time yet loved by people.
Looking out of the window, Xing could hear the birds singing upon the rise of the horizon. As she enjoys the smell of the early morning, she sipped on a cup of tea.
Xing was currently in Nanjing visiting one of the tea stores near the Xuanwu Lake. This may seem like any other ordinary day, but Xing was expecting a particular letter today.
" Yueyue, when do you think the letter will arrive?" Xing strokes her cat's head as it yawns and nibbles her finger. The act made her smile.
Xing was currently on vacation in Nanjing during her summer break. To say that is was relaxing was an understatement, if Xing had the choice of living here permanently, she would have but life was never that giving.
Recently, she fell in love with this little tea shop situated near the Xuanwu lake. The view of the lake from here was simply mesmerizing combined with the early morning mist makes it impossible for Xing to get bored of the scenery.
As she continues to look out into the lake, an owl flew into her view. Expecting it, Yueyue hopped down from Xing's lap to let the girl stand up. Waiting until the owl have dropped off the letter and left, Xing finally picked it up.
Xing smiled at the familiar feel of the letter and the emblem of the wax seal. Gently opening the letter, she took her time to read its content before looking at the cat.
" Yueyue, looks like its not too different from last year but we should still visit Diagon Alley to pick up a few things." A thought suddenly popped into her head. " Ah... should we visit the market for the wizard folks here first?"
As Xing walks through the different vendors selling all sorts of products, Xing realizes how different it is compared to the past--as well as the haggling of prices. Even though it has been a long time, Xing find it amusing of the haggling culture here.
After haggling down the prices of a few items, Xing walked back to her accommodation turning a blind eye on the stares that she was getting. Since the start of her trip, she was already getting curious yet weird stares from those around her. Part of it due to her young age, part possibly due to her own appearance, and possibly due to the strange items that she was carrying. Of course, Xing was walking down a muggle--or as they called them here, non-wizards. streets carrying magical items. Surely, it would piqued the interest of many eyes. Besides, the wizard population here is scarce compared to Britain, not many will recognize her being a witch.
Upon arriving at her accommodation, Xing started packing her belongings into their respected luggages.
Xing sighed, the trip here has been very welcomed but it is now time to return to busy Britain. Taking out her wand, Xing casted a spell to quickly clean up her room so it can be used during her next break.
" Xiaoyu." Xing called out. After a moment, a loud pop echoed through the space before a house elf appeared in front of her.
" Mistress have called Xiaoyu." The house elf bashfully answered.
Xing smiled, " It is time for my departure, you have done a great job in taking care of this mansion. I thank you for you efforts."
Hearing her gratitude, Xiaoyu shakes her head in denial. " Xiaoyu does not dare to accept Mistress's thanks."
Expecting her to response in a similar fashion, Xing brought out a little bracelet. " You may deny it but I hope this gift shows my sincere gratitudes."
Too shocked to react, Xiaoyu only stood there and let Xing put the bracelet on her hand.
" Do not be too shock, I expect you to continue to take care of this place until my next visit here."
" Yes, Xiaoyu will do her best."
" Good, now shall we go downstairs?"
" Reducio" Xing chanted as all her luggages shrunk down so she could easily carry it down the stairs.
Stepping out of the mansion, Xing took a step back to admire the place. " Xiaoyu awaits Mistress next visit."

Masterlist
Humming a quiet melody, you felt the air around you stirred. Closing your eyes, you focus on the sensation of the flow around you, patiently waiting for a response. Expectedly, your question was not answered.
Nevertheless, you knew better than to give up your standing and continue to participate in this wordless battle. After all, as a member of the Crimson branch, it would hurt your pride to lose to such a miscellaneous game.
Slowly but surely, the air around you both began to constrict, seemingly trapping you in its borders. However, instead of surrendering to either of your guysâ unmoving selves, none made a move in anything close to failure and instead, waited.
Such a manipulator.
Seconds steadily merge into minutes, and before you know it, you are left with a quarter of an hour before having to head back. Looking at the entrance of the alley, it had seemed that the sun was already setting. Turning around to meet Ravenâs eyes, you let out a smirk before pushing yourself off the walls.
â If you donât have anything to say then I guess there is no other purpose being here,â you taunted, heading towards the bustling street.
Purposely exaggerating your steps to enhance the sound of your shoes colliding with the floor, you confidently walk the opposite way, not glancing back. However, before you can bathe under the colourful lanterns, an arm slid around yours, pulling you back into the darkness.
Quick to hide your growing smirk, you let yourself be dragged back deep within the alley. Turning around, you look down at the piercing eyes, staring menacingly into your own.
â Stop joking around,â Raven warned.
â Answer my question then,â you insisted, â Why have you called me?â
Even with the mask, you could tell that she was rolling her eyes at your ridiculous question. Reaching into her long sleeve, Raven took out a thin envelope and shoved it into your arms.
â The Master wanted to give this to you.â
Looking at her knowingly, you flick the tab open, reaching in to get the paper. Pulling the paper out, you motioned her to bring the lantern closer. You both peered through the content of the letter, processing the intentions that have been conveyed. Looking into each othersâ eyes, silently having a conversation.
After a while, you both synchronously nodded, agreeing on the best solution.
Standing straight up, you carefully tuck the letter into your inner sleeve. You patted the spot a few times to test its stability as you mindlessly listened to Ravenâs plan.
â You do know that it is better to do it now than later right?â
Stopping what you were doing, you clench your hands repeatedly while staring at the ground. Letting out a tired sigh, you tussled through your hair in frustration, making obvious attempts to ignore her question.
â You knoââ
â I know!â You growled, biting your inner cheeks. â I⊠need time to adapt to this current life. After that⊠I will tell them.â
Without looking at her, you could already define her expression of knowingness. Even so, you ignored it, too caught up with your thoughts and forceful emotions.
Letting out a loud sigh, â Mind joining me for a drink?â
Looking into Ravenâs eyes, you could almost spot specks of whites and yellows swirling into her magnificent midnight black orbs. Despite how gorgeous they were, you knew that they held nothing more than pity and sympathy; ones that aimed at youâ your decisions specifically.
Once again, you both held eye contact for however long before Raven broke it with a gentle shake of her head. She nodded, quietly accepting your invitation, stepping away from you.
Following her lead, you nodded, tightening your grasp on your own mask, in which you had taken off unconsciously during the discussion.
Fingers running through the surface, you admire each stroke that has been carved into the wood. Unlike Ravenâs who was smothered in shades of black and grey, yours was painted in a variety of red and gold. In another way, it showcases the difference between your animal and hers.
Each member of the clan is subjected to form their alias based on their branch and their ones that resonate with them.
For example, your branchâ the crimson branch is categorized as a physical branch, people who focus on close combat. As a result, all the members within the branch are named after predators of all kinds, except birds. Raven, who belonged to the Gold branch, specializing in long-distance attacks, are thus named after various avians. With that, the Azures are categorized to different strategic pieces and theories, while the Veridian branch are varieties of poisons, and the Titanium branch, are all the raw materials used for craftsmanship.
Bringing the mask to your face, you quickly fasten it, lifting your hair to hide the knot under it. You started heading out of the alley, Raven following right after you and into the clusters of light.
As you both walked through the noisy crowd, you glanced around at the assorted shades of lanterns that are hanged throughout the district, most in deep, bright shades of red, confirming that you were indeed in the epicentre of the red district.
The red district was a very interesting place that attracts a wide audienceâ for the many different reasons that are available. Some people come here to do businessâ both legal and illegally, while some search for companionsâfor the reasons you wonât go into. Anyways, in your guysâ case, it was the former. Now for whether itâs legal or illegal? You didnât exactly know.
Along the way, you randomly chose a cozy-looking winery in the depth of the district, one that wasnât filled with too many lustful people.
This particular winery was unlike many others. Instead of drenching in the odour of alcohol, the winery quickly filled your senses with a delicate and flowery scent. Curiosity hitting you like a brick wall, you glanced around to try and find where the scent was coming from.
â Welcome, precious guests,â a velvety voice greeted.
Perking your head up at the voice, your head naturally followed the direction. Immediately after looking up, you were faced with a figure adorned in pieces of red. Unexpectedly, the voice ownerâs face was beyond any noble ladies in the capital, with a sharp yet captivating gaze, and perfect proportions. To say the least, she was flawless.
Seeing your guysâ silence, the lady let out a smile.
â Please, follow me,â she said, leading you into a quiet corner, invisible to most people.
You nodded in gratitude, taking a seat on one of the wooden chairs.
â What would you like?â
Looking contemplated, Raven asked, â What do you specialize in?â
Eyes sparkling in excitement at Ravenâs word, the lady clasped her hand together before clearing her throat, â Finally! The Silvering Winery specializes in mixed drinks.â
Raising your eyebrow, curious of the reason for her being so excited, you asked, â Donât people come here for that since itâs your specialty?â
Reacting to your question, the lady huffed out a sigh, her eyebrows crunching up in frustration. â Of course not! All we have coming are old, drunken men who know nothing more than jugs of those tasteless alcohol! With our location, even if so hidden, people still manage to find it. No one ever asks for mixed drinks⊠until now at least.â
You smiled, taking interest in her talk, â Any recommendations you have?â
Tapping her chin carefully, the lady took her time to think as she scanned over the both of you. â Mhmm, how about this? Iâll create drinks based on what I get from each of you.â
Raven hummed in agreement while you nodded in interest,â Please⊠Mmm...Is there perhaps a name we could possibly address you?â
Plushed lips curling up to a smile, she answered, â Please call me⊠Lisa.â
â Sounds foreign.â
Lisa nodded, â Iâm from the west.â
Smiling at her words, you introduced, â Please call me Phoenix.â
â Raven.â
â Then weâll be in your care, Lisa.â
Turning around, Lisa headed off to what seemed to be the kitchen, â Donât worry, I never disappoint my customers.â
You waited for the retrieving figure to enter the kitchen before setting your eyes back to the decor of the place. The whole venue was covered in wood, planks attached to the floor while chunkier pieces are used to form tables. Smaller pieces of wood are spotted splattered across the walls and the tops of the very many seats. On your guysâ table, a tray sat there, holding a plate of sweets accompanied by two wooden cups, filled to the brim with scorching hot herbal tea.
Reaching over to grab yours, Raven following right after, you both enjoyed the taste of the herbs in silence. Letting the bitter taste coat your skin, you hummed in satisfaction as the warmth spread through your body, seeping into your core.
Unlike your usual mask where it covers your entire face, this one only covered half of it, thus making it much more convenient to use during these situations.
â Itâs been a while since weâve had a normal conversation.â
Humming in interest, Raven continued to sip her tea.
â How have you been?â
â ...Iâve been good. Just the usual stuff, nothing new.â
Nodding in acknowledgement, you reach over to grab a piece of sweet.
â How have you been?â
Biting into the dessert, you munch on it while thinking over the question. â Itâs been hectic. This year has been a little ⊠overwhelming.â
By the perked-up eyebrows, you could tell that she was interested in your wording but seeing how she had no intentions of mentioning it, you also dismissed the minor detail.
â The Master had given you such a significant mission, itâs no wonder it would be so tiring.â
Tightening your lip to form a small smile, you nodded in agreement, your head bouncing with the force. â In the beginning, I often wondered why the Master has assigned me to be leading this mission when there are clearly more suitable people than me.â
â Who?â
Looking down to your own cup, you stared into the reflection of yourself painted on the layer of liquid. â ⊠For starters, you.â
Chuckling at your response, Raven eyed your slightly sunken form. â Me? I have no interest in this type of mission. In fact, Iâm quite glad that you were assigned to it. This way, at least, I have some reassurance that the mission is more likely to succeed.â
Refusing to look at her, you smiled in acknowledgement, the happiness unable to reach your eyes.
Seeing your sullen state, Raven reached out her hand to grasp yours, comfortably stroking over your knuckles.
â You will do fine. In fact, youâve done so much more than what that bastard has ever achieved in his entire life.â
Wincing at Ravenâs profanity, you cracked out a smile.
â Youâre lucky heâs dead, if notâŠâ you spaced out, slicing your finger across your neck to continue your sentence.
Raven smiled at your joke. â Youâre part of the Crimson branch, Y/n, a predator that stands out among the rest,â Raven reminded you, â I know that this is weighing a great deal of pressure on you but know that we are always here to assist you.â
â ...Youâre really bittersweet, Raven.â
Blinking calmly at your comment, Raven replied, â Of course.â
Feeling the conversation fade away, you both followed the flow, quietly minding each otherâs interest.
â Whatâs with the atmosphere here?â Lisa announced, entering the scene, carrying the beverages on a tray. â Now, now. Donât be too sullen. Let me cheer you up with these drinks,â she proudly proclaimed.
Looking at the drinks that she had placed in front of you, your eyes glimmered in interest. Picking the cup up, you brought it closer to you, inspecting the contents within the cup.
â What is this?â You asked, sniffing the aroma that was escaping.
Resting her arms on her hips, she explained, â With Ravenâs, I decided to go with a simple drink. A combination of our wineryâs signature wine and rice wine have been added to highlight a clean yet edgy taste. Swan Knifeâ
Raven nodded, lips curling up in satisfaction. Picking up her cup, she slowly bring it to her lips, taking small gulps to savor the taste. â Swan Knife? Mhmm, it fits.â
â Of course.â
â What about mine?â
Clapping her hand in excitement, Lisa giddily answered, â Yours was a combination of the wineryâs freshest batch and an old brandy imported from the west. I topped the drink off with a little citrusy tang to highlight the harmony of the senses. Overall, you will experience the sharp, bitter, and tangy sensation in one mouthful. Bittersweet Kiss.â
Taking in a deep breath, you mentally cringed at the name while Raven openly smirked at the coincidence. â Sounds like a roller coaster,â you hummed, taking your gulp.
Closing your eyes, you let the taste of the alcohol cover every crevice of your mouth, confirming what Lisa said to be true.
â Interesting,â you said, â Definitely worth your praise.â
Preening at your praise, she happily thanked you.
Using the tea to cleanse your palate, you repeatedly go back and force between the two beverages.
â Why donât you join us, Lisa?â Raven offered.
Shaking her head, she gave out a sad expression, â Iâm afraid that wonât be possible. My other customers are waiting.â
Taking a quick look around, you couldnât spot any other customer except for yourself and Raven. However, as if on cue, the door was slammed open, revealing a bunch of drunken men, toppling over each other to try and enter the space.
â LISA! Give me the usual!â
Rolling her eyes at the male, she quickly covered it with a smile, bowing in greeting at you before heading over to the other customers.
â She seemed like an interesting fellow,â you noted before going back to your drink.
â... Has the Master been demanding?â
Stopping yourself at the question, you bite your lip in confliction. â In some aspects, yes, he is. But I still donât understand what we are getting out from these missions.â
Raven swirl her drink in a circular motion. â The Master is planning something big.â
You snorted, â Of course he is. He wouldn't assign me this mission for some petty excuses. You...you know something right?â
Confirming your theory at her refusal to look you in the eye, you nodded in understanding. â You donât need to tell me. I understand.â
â No, itâs not because I donât want to tell you but itâs ⊠complicated. But what I can definitely guarantee you is that the Master is planning something that you will never expect.â
Staring at her features, you slowly studied the face that youâve known for years. Suddenly, you came up with a surprise connection, one you didnât expect to come nor become real.
â If I look at you now, you hold some resemblance with someone I know,â you nonchalantly commented.
Stiffening at your sudden observation, Raven fidget with the cup in her hand as you stared her down, trying to identify who it was.
â Who?â She meekly asked.
â... Hâ No i think Iâve mistaken you with someone else,â you covered up.
Thereâs no way that this is a coincidence. Iâm just overthinking it.
Subtly shutting her eyes at your response, it was obvious that Raven didnât wholeheartedly believe your words but ignored it either way.
â I heard that you started adopting consorts, and changed the initial plan.â
â ⊠I did unconsciously recruit a few more consorts aside from Taehyung, and did manage to alter some part of the plan. However, I promised that itâs nothing major. The plan is progressing relatively smoothly.â
Chuckling at yoru panicked voice, she assured you, â Itâs fine. Thereâs no need to panic, I was just asking⊠Are they good people?â
Unconsciously smiling at the thought, you hesitantly nodded. â Theyâre interesting people. Certainly unique in their own little ways.â
â You know that you attract many people to your ways, right?â
Snorting at her response, you cheekily grinned. â Good or bad, I wonder.â
Raven looked at you knowingly, before smugly looking at the decor around you, not wanting to give out a verbal response. Raising your eyebrows at her antiques, you also took your stride in looking around.
On instinct, you looked over at the opened doors to be met with a background of the dark sky, illuminated by lanterns. Hastily standing up, you bided Raven goodbye, â Looks like itâs my time to go now. When you have the time, make sure to stop at my place.â
Going to the door, you almost couldnât catch Ravenâs greetings. Feeling a small smile adorned your face, you quickly exited the winery and back into the streets.
Looking at your previous spot, Raven mindlessly sipped her drink.
â Theyâre certainly an interesting one, arenât they?â Lisa pipped in.
Raven smiled, â Definitely.â

Once again in the crowds of the festival, you hurriedly dodge through the drunkens, careful to not hit the vulnerables. Smiling every so often to showcase your politeness, your feet quickly carried you to the opposite end and eventually to a left turn.
Letting out a deep sigh, you were thankful for getting out of the mess in one piece. Just being in the place gets you to have flashbacks about previous experiences.
You slowed down your pace, making sure to not look any stranger than what already meets the eyes. . Unlike the previous district who was filled with energy, this place is quite tranquil considering it is a more major district of the capital.
Eyes constantly scanning the area, you felt yourself stopped at a particular parlour. Approaching the stall, you took your time admiring the items that were put on for sale.
Grazing over the various accessories, you smiled at how detailed the carvings are. Feeling your finger twitch at a certain ornament, you brought it closer for inspection. Hooking the look around your finger, you twirl it around to test its stability.
Not bad.
â Owner, are there any other colors or designs for this?â
Clasping her hand in excitement, the owner hurriedly displayed the other designs available.
Eyes sparkling in interest, you inspect ones that caught your sight but couldnât decide on which one to buy. Seeing your uncertainty, the owner said, â If you donât mind me asking but who is it you plan on giving it to?â
Looking up to look at her eyes that had started to droop from old age, you politely smiled. â I am planning to buy it for a⊠a friend.â
Raising her eyebrows at your reply, the owner took a moment to look over at the collection, â Is there anything in particular that stands out about them?â
â ⊠sunshine.â
Looking back and forth between you and the collection before she boldly handed you an ornament. Graciously accepting the ornament, you take a second to inspect the item.
â This norigae* is sewn from one of the most popular materials this year. Even though the threads are sewn together, similar to a rope, it is very soft yet also extremely steady. The customer had said that your friend holds similarity to the sun so I thought that the golden color would suit them.â
Nodding at her observance, you happily accepted her advice. â Thank you. I will take this one.â
Returning the ornament back to her, you looked down again at the accessories before spotting a few that had caught your eyes.
â Owner, please also pack these up for me,â you said, pointing at a few items, â Here is the money. Keep the change.â
Bowing at her in gratitude, you accepted the wooden box containing your goods before heading to the tea house. On the way, you once again tuck the box in your sleeves in case of any ill intentions roaming around.
Resuming your previous pace, you continue to scavenge around the district while on your way back to the tea house. Amidst the way, you noticed an inconsistent pattern of people that were accumulating in front of a store nearby, coincidentally blocking your path.
I must be aligned with crowds today, you sighed.
After standing in the same spot for a few moments, you begrudgingly put on a brave face and courageously walk toward the crowd, hoping to not be pulled to pieces.
Taking a deep breath at a particular hard jab, you desperately sucked in the warm, moist air around you, trying to not groan too loudly. Tightening your stomach in an attempt to make yourself seem smaller, you try your best to push through the crowd of people.
Hissing at a young lady that had bumped into you, stepping on your toe in the process, you suddenly found yourself stuck in the center, with no available escape route.
Sighing at your unfortunate situation, regretting your decision, you were suddenly aware of the admiring gazes that wee being pulled. Looking around in curiosity, you wondered why everyone was looking so intrigued ⊠until you heard the strings of the gayageum* being plucked.
Ears on alert at the melody that was being played, you turned your head in the direction, your feet unconsciously headed towards the music until you were just behind a few other bypassers.
Once you had registered what was happening, your eyes widened in surprise at the main highlight of the performance.
Hoseok.
There he was, your Noble Consort, was at the center, seemingly carrying all the major parts of the piece, giving no care to the crowd that had surrounded him. Eyes closed, Hoseok let himself go and simply followed the flow of the music, in a complete trance where the only thing that existed was himself and the melody.
Robes fluttering along with his movement, Hoseok continue to move with th music, seemingly becoming one with the melody.
Speechless at the scene that is happening in front of you, you stared at his dancing figure in complete silence, completely forgetting where you are, too focus on Hoseok, himself. It also seemed that you were too involved in the performance that you, also gave no care to your surroundings.
Eyes staring at Hoseok, at his every movementâ twirls, turns, and jumps, you engulfed yourself to enjoy the performance, deciding to put away your questions for later.
Slowly, one song after another ended yet Hoseok still kept dancing while you kept your eyes glued on him. No matter how many times you were pushed around, or the constant change in neighbours, you still remained in your spot only snapping out of your daze at a particular hard push.
Eyes glaring at the intruding figure, you shake your head to clear up your mind. Noticing at the slow change in melody indicating that the song was about to end, you looked at Hoseok one last time before turning around and returning to your tracks, this time making sure to not go off it.
At least I know Iâm not the only one whoâs late.
As you calmly walk through the street, the scene that had unfolded in front of your eyes kept coming back. Hoseokâs smooth yet sharp moves, soft yet powerful gestures, and how he managed to control the air around him made you more curious about him.
Who exactly are you?
Silently entering the tea house, you were too deep into your thought that you had even dismissed the greetings of the servants and instead just followed their lead to your previous spot.
â Give me a serving of the sweets to go,â you mindless order.
Leaning back against the chair, you glanced down the window, searching for Hoseokâs incoming figure. However, you soon find out that he wasnât going to come anytime soon. Even after receiving your sweets, Hoseok still did not come.
Placing the money down on the table, you grabbed the sweets and left the establishment and instead settled for the outside stairs to wait for him. Feeling your skin itch in agitation, you feel your anxiety increase as the minute goes by.
Where is he?
Feeling your mood getting increasingly worse, you accidentally growled at a man that accidentally touched you. Apologizing was a hazy memory when you were in this current state yet you still find yourself waiting, somehow not finding the need to go and find him yourself. However, in all of foolishness, Hoseok is bound to get at least a few of your lectures.
Finally, after the moon was halfway on its route, a familiar figure finally appeared. Letting out a breath that you didnât know existed, you ruffled your hair in both relief and frustration; both emotions aiming at him.
â Where have you been?â
Flinching at your cold tone, Hoseok couldnât bring himself to look at you. Instead, he opted to look down at the floor, in shame.
â Did you realize what time it is?â You asked, â When did we agree to meet?â
Once again, you were met with absolute silence. At this time, most of the stores and parlours had closed with only a few lanterns available to illuminate the street.
However, unlike the calm and tranquil the cool night should bring you, you felt a wave of frustration engulf you. In the back of your mind, you thanked your abilities to heal the wounds in time. Because without it, the wound would have already reopened with how hard you were clenching your arm.
Aside from your blazing eyes and your tense grasp on your sword, Hoseok couldnât find any other evidence of your anger. However, even without any evidence, he knew that you were letting out anything but positive energy.
â Whatever, weâll talk about this at a later date,â you said, drawing a shaky sigh before presenting your arm, â Letâs go.â
Looking at your arm, Hoseok hesitantly holds onto it before letting himself be dragged by you.
The silence presented during your guysâ walk was what Hoseok had expected when he accepted your invitation. However, he also understood the reason for why such a tense sensation was presented and was not naturally there.
As you approached the palace gates, you let go of Hoseokâs hand, reaching into your sleeve to take out your hopae*. When the guard spotted your tag, he immediately opened the gate, letting you both in. Before going in, you reached over to Hoseok to entangle your hand with his, not saying anything at his surprised expression. Thankfully, Hoseok also followed the flow and didnât comment on your actions.
During the way to the Noble Consortâs courtyard, an eunuch had run over, offering to help guide you but was answered by a denial. Instead, you took the lantern from his hands and dismissed him.
Once you both were finally in front of Hoseokâs courtyard, you finally let go of his hand. Hoseok, who was about to bow to you, stopped when he saw you reach into your sleeve, seemingly looking for something.
Unlatching the rope that had secured the box, you quickly took out the norigae that you previously brought. Throwing it over to Hoseokâs direction, you turned around and began to walk to your courtyard, not looking at his reaction.
â A souvenir from me. If itâs not to your fancy, throw it away.â
Hastily catching the item that you had disposed into his hands, he confusingly looked at it before realizing what it was. Grazing over the norigae fondly, Hoseok carefully untangled the knots. Grasping the ornament tightly, he felt his lips turn upward at your gestures. Bringing it close to his chest, he looked at your disappearing figure, attentively.

Within the next month of the announcement, news of the arrival of the new consorts began to enter the palace, and eventually, reaching the court. The ministers and officials were overjoyed at the news, happy that they were still sending over the candidates despite your announcement.
Unlike others who were happy about the consortsâ arrival, Taehyung was still soured over the news, as well as your choice.
Despite Taehyungâs obvious disapproval, it was customary for you to at least spend a night with each consort in the first week, especially if they were from a different country.
On your first night of the three, you met your first choice from the piles of possible candidates.
Sato Chungho, was a righteous man who had an outstanding record and an ambition in politics. He was so intrigued by it that you had spent the entire night talking about the subject.
â Politics, you say?â You asked curiously as you propped your chin on your hand.
Chungho enthusiastically nodded, eyes trained on your every movement. â Yes, your majesty.â
You hummed, â Why are you suddenly bringing this up?â
Looking down at his hands, Chungho fidgets with the fabric of his attire. â I had heard that your majesty is well versed in this field. Since I have met you, I ⊠I knew that love would never be able to blossom between the two of uââ
â Why would you say that?â You interrupted, eyes peering down at him in interest.
â You might not know this, your majesty but you have been a very popular topic in Shihoma. Previously, we all had known about how terrible the Coreaâs monarch was but since your arrival, everyone couldnât help but be intrigued by how you managed to take him down. More importantly, the way you handled this Consort Selection both showcases your dominance and how youâre not afraid to flaunt it. Many would have to think twice about doing this, especially for a country that has yet to establish a good reputation.â
â Then wouldnât my actions be considered to be reckless. If you think about it, wonât it be easy for other countries to fight ours since itâs so vulnerable right now?â
Chungho shakes his head, â It would be unlikely because most people know that most of the soldiers had gone to your side before and during the rebellion. You didnât lose that many soldiers so attacking you is not a minor matter.â
Raising your eyebrows at his answer, you nodded your head. â Then what would you like?â
â I would likeâŠâ Chungho gulped, â to learn more about politics under you.â
A potential.
Cracking a smile at his uncertainty, you stand up from your seat. Waving your hands to signal him to come over, you invited, â Come. Play a game of go with me.â
With that, Chungho giddily accepted your invitation and both of you found yourself spending the entire night indulged in all the games you had available.
On the second night, things turned out to be more interesting with the second consort.
â Chin-Hae means the truth and a vast ocean, correct?â You had asked.
â Yes, your majesty.â
â And youâre a son of a merchant?â
â Yes, your majesty.â
Scanning at him from top to the bottom, and bottom to top, you couldnât decipher the unsettled feeling that is blooming within your chest. You have been caught up in many situations where there is a sense of familiarity despite being strangers. And this is one of those situations.
â You look familiar.â
â I am afraid that we have never meet until today,â he said, â However, you might have find my demeanour similar to some of the envoys that are currently residing in the palace.â
â ⊠youâre from Xin May yet you behave like the Ecenyths, you must have travelled quite a bit.â
â As a merchantâs child, I have started travelling since I could even remember. However, I did spent a reasonable amount of time in Ecenyth.â
You hummed in acknowledgement. â Tell me the stories of the land you have visited.â
â Where would you like to hear first, your majesty?â
â ⊠Xin May,â you decided, â Tell me the culture, people, myths, legends. Anything of interest to your home country.â
Chin-Hae smiled, â Yes, your majesty.â
As a result, you spent the entire night listening to the various stories from Chin-Hae; from the landâs culture to personal experiences and connection, Chin-Hae had told it in such an interesting manner that it captivated you every step of the way. He truly is a merchant.
I wonder if Seokjin is also good at storytelling.
On the third and final night, you were beyond exhausted with being deprived of sleep for two days straight and the constant piles that were presented on your desk. Thus, you didnât have as much energy as usual and hoped that today will be like the other two.
Turns out, the third time was really the charm since it was completely different from the rest.
Entering your bedroom, you wanted nothing more than to fall onto the bed and travel to dreamland. Feet dragging your slouched body to the familiarity of your bed, you were suddenly hit with the realization of the slight change in the roomâs placement.
Sobering up at the thought of an intrusion, you glared at every change in your normally simple chamber, feeling the irritation in you double. Aside from the difference in decor, the usual scent of lavender that would caress your skin was replaced with an overpowering scent of perfume. Feeling a headache reappearing, you sluggishly walked towards your bed only to be met with a big clump covered by a thin, transparent fabric.
The person must have noticed your speechless demeanour when they let out soft, high-pitched giggles. Normally, you would have define the noise as angelic but with your non-sobered state, fondness was not on top of the list.
Harshly grabbing the fabric, you forcefully tugged it off the figure and threw it to the floor. Looking into the bright yet hazy black orbs, you find yourself not knowing what to do.
â Greetings to your majesty.â
Squinting your eyes in an attempt to find familiarity in the person in front to you but unable to do so, you find yourself speechless of what to say nor do. Suddenly, you realized that he was the one who you have chosen randomly, a person that you didnât even bother knowing the name of.
Turning the other way, guiltily, you refused to look into the personâs eye, ashamed as what you did that day. However, the person seated on your bed took your action as an attempt to distance yourself away from him. As a result, he sneakily reach out his hand to touch your clenched ones.
Shivering at the chilling skin that had enveloped into your warmer ones, you looked at him, waiting to see what he would do.
As if knowing what you were hinting, the person took the opportunity to pull you to him, successfully setting you seated next to him.
Taking a deep breath, you could define the different fragrances that he was using.
Rose, with a light note of chamomile, citrus, lavender? No, what is it? Â Â
Confused at what you were smelling, you didnât notice the roaming hands that were venturing your body until it travelled to your thigh. In a moment of panic, you pushed him away from you, shocking him in the process.
â You⊠whatâs your name?â
Yet to recover from the sudden shove, the male hastily replied, â P-park Jimin, your majesty.â
Awkwardly nodding at his answer, you make sure to raise your hands, signalling that you meant no harm. â I apologize, Jimin-ssi. There was so much work that I seemed to forget your name,â you said, shuffling away.
You knew that lying was bad in this situation but you also knew that saying that he was chosen in a matter of luck was worse. In other terms, he was lucky to be picked and wasnât picked based on his capabilities unlike the other two.
Thereâs no way that Iâll tell him that.
Once again, using the opening of you drifting off, Jimin approached you, hands delicately running up your legs, eyes glimmering with mischief and flirtatiousness.
Speechless at what he was doing, you could only stare as he continued to venture across the span of your skin. Gently prying his hands off you, you push Jimin away. This time, on alert for any of his upcoming initiatives.
â So tell me about yourself,â you said, brushing off what had just happened.
Staring at you confusingly, Jiminâs finger twitches in agitation. â Why are you doing this?â
â What do you mean?â You asked, scrunching up your nose.
â Why are you asking these questions when you already know the answer?â He asked, eyes hiding behind his bangs.
â I apologize, it seems that I have offended you. These past few days have been so busy that I haven't had the time to go over your profile yet.â
â You didnât even have the time to look into me?â He murmured, eyes locked on the velvet sheets.
You waved your hand in a hurry, protesting. â Of course not. I sincerely apologize. I truly didnât have the time to do so.â
Part of it was true while the other wasnât being told. Yes, you have been extremely busy that you didnât have any spare time and would go to sleep straight away after you return to your courtyard. However, you also did pick Jimin randomly, thus not having the fresh opportunity to look at his portrait.
You were really regretting your decisions of following the ministersâ miscellaneous plans.
Picking his head up, you propped them on top of your hand, directly looking into his own. Seeing his stunned expression because of your initiatives was something unexpectedly amusing; plushed lips puckered out to form a pout, a crimson shade that is spreading along the span of his cheeks, and eyes widen in such a manner that you almost couldnât stop yourself from cooing about his cuteness.
Regretting at not seeing his painted portrait, you wonder if the artist managed to capture his beauty.
Smiling gently at your gestures, Jimin blinks continuously to try and seduce you.
Smirking at his antiques, you followed whatever he was luring you into before trapping him under your body. Arms placed on either side of him, Jimin bravely looked at you, eyebrows raised in a suggestive manner.
Lowering yourself until you were barely above him, you whispered into his ear, â What do you think youâre doing.â
Feeling an unfamiliar sensation blooming within his core, Jimin unhurriedly replied, â Whatever your majesty wants to do, I will follow.â
Smirking at his response, you continue to tease him by grazing your finger lightly across his skin, similar to what he had done to you. Seeing him squirm at the feeling was definitely a sight to see; amidst your teasing, you could even see a slight change in demeanour for a moment before it was covered by the previous thin layer of lust.
How interesting.
â Oh really?â
Shivering at the moisture of your breath, Jimin couldnât help but anticipate what was about to happen. However, his fantasize was cut short when he was no longer pinned down, the previous pressure dissipating into the air.
Pulling away from Jimin, you turned around, starting to take off your robe. â You may stay here if you wish. We can talk about whatever but nothing related to what we just did.â
â ⊠So you just wanted to tease me?â
Clenching your fist at his question, you shakily replied, â I apologize. I⊠I wanted to find out something.â
Jimin bit his lip, eyes glaring at your back. â And that gives you the need to tease me? You may be my master, your majesty. But I am still a human who has feelings.â
â ⊠I apologize.â
â Apologies, apologies,â Jimin huffed out, â If you donât want me here then I will leave.â
Standing up, Jimin takes the fabric, previously thrown to the floor and wrapped it around himself. Walking past you, Jimin didnât look at you and instead focused on the door. Pushing the doors open, Jimin was about to leave but was suddenly pulled back.
Gasping at the pulling force, Jimin staggered backwards into your chest. â I did say that I would let you leave but I didnât agree to you leaving while in such a foul mood.â
Now, against your chest, you and Jimin were at the same height, none towering over the other but within your presence, Jimin found himself cowering under your watchful eyes.
â W-what do you want now?â
â I want to apologize to you,â you said, â What do you want me to do?â
Turning around to look into your eyes, Jimin undoubtedly could sense your genuinity. Still trapped in your embrace, Jimin took his time to think and weigh the possible outcomes. Â
â You would do whatever I say?â
â If itâs reasonable, yes. I would do anything.â
Taking into consideration of your words, Jimin giddily thought up of various options. â Then⊠give me jewelry as compensation.â
â Jewelry? What do you want specifically?â
â Anything that shows your favour in me. Things that would make people envy my position by your side.â
You nodded, agreeing with his terms. â I will have something prepared for you by tomorrow and sent to your courtyard. For nowâŠâ
Looking over at your drawers, eyes sparkling up at the idea. Unlatching your arms around Jimin, you walked up to your drawers. Pulling a small drawer, you gingerly searched around before pulling a certain item out.
Returning to where you previously were, you gestured for him to turn around. You carefully placed the accessories against his skin, encasing the knot to secure the necklace in place. â Keep this as a promise that I will fulfill my role.â
Grasping the pendant, Jimin looked over the design in awe before cracking a smile.
Seeing his smile, you commented, â I see that you arââ
â Acceptable,â Jimin arrogantly said.
â Iâm glad,â you said, walking towards the table, pouring yourself a cup of tea, â Letâs have a proper conversation now, shall we?â
Rolling his eyes at your comment, Jimin clenched the fabric wrapped around him before heading towards the table, taking a seat opposite of you.
â Now, what can I know about you, Jimin-ssi.â
â You donât need to be that formal. Please call me Jimin.â
You smiled, â Gladly.â
âïž âïž âïž âïž âïž âïž âïž
â Now tell me about the Scavenge Disaster.â
Hastily going through the notes that he had memorized yesterday, Jungkook clumsily replied, â The Scavenged Disaster was a breakout of droughts in the southern regions forcing many to go get refuge in other places?â
â Continue.â
â Mhmm.. the Scaââ
â Say it with more confidence,â Taehyung interrupted.
Shooting him a glare, you scrunched up your eyebrows in frustration. Opening your mouth, you were about to say something when Taehyung continued to interrupt you.
â How can you not remember the basics?â He degraded once he saw the hesitation that still lingered in Jungkookâs eyes.
Eyes widening at his words, you shouted, â Royal Consort! Be careful with your words!â
Rolling his eyes at your word, Taehyung leaned back against his seat and focused on Jungkook, waving his hand for him to continue.
Shaking your head, you roughly slumped down into your seat, ignoring the stare that Jungkook was giving you.
Swallowing all the tension down, Jungkook went back to what he has been doing, now, even more agitated.
From the start of todayâs lesson, the intensity of the air in the room was at an abnormal level. You all have noticed the change but no one put in the effort to address it.
â When did this occur?â
â Ten years before the previous dynasty ended.â
â How old were you then?â
â I was⊠ten at that time.â
â I heard that you were constantly out of the palace,â you said, â Must have been hard for you.â Nonchalantly looking down at the papers on the table, you didnât caught Taehyungâs soured gaze.
â Ten? Youâre barely an adult now. Must have been a little brat,â Taehyung commented.
Sighing, you tiredly looked over at him, â Brat? Look at you right now. Youâre the brattiest yet.â
Taehyung scowled at your comment, â Whatever. What has this lesson turned into? A personal bonding time for the two of you? Forget it, weâre done for today. Iâm not in the mood for it.â
â Jungkook you may go,â you dismissed him, letting out an exhausted sigh, and rubbed your tensed eyebrows. Seeing Taehyung also standing up, you were quick to confront him, â You, dear Royal Consort, is staying until I tell you otherwise.â
Turning around, Taehyung looked at you with raised eyebrows, challenging you. â You canât control me.â
â As long as I have the crown, there is nothing I canât get my hands onto, including you.â
Huffing at your comment, Taehyung slumped down into his seat, not looking at you.
â Why are you like this?â You asked, frustrated.
â Why are you asking me? Ask yourself!â He yelled out, disbelief clearly adorned on his face.
â What did I do?â
â You took in three other consorts!â
â I was forced to!â
â Youâre the owner of this land, no one can control you.â He said, using your comment as payback.
You chewed on your cheek at your words getting backfired. â It's a minor problem, thereâs nothing for you to worry about.â
â Minor problem? Sure it is. So incredibly small that it caused chaos in the imperial court, agitating all the ministers.â
â If youâre worried about them interrupting ouââ
â I donât care about the plan. What if they fancy you!â He retorted, pouting at his own words.
Eyebrows raised at Taehyungâs tantrum, you unconsciously lean back to enjoy the show.
â Youâre worried that they will gain power if they have my favour?â
â That too,â Taehyung muttered.
â Donât worry. Chung-ho and Chin-Hae arenât in the mindset of settling down,â you reassured, â Chung-ho is too busy with his interest in politics while Chin-Hae will be travelling.â
During your guysâ little talk, you had personally promised to give Chin-Hae the privilege to exit the palace at will in return for little souvenirs that he will bring back. This may sound immature but you have plans for those items.
â You guys are on first-name-basis now? Whatever, whatever, whatever... Then what about the third one?â He asked.
You tilted your head confusingly, not able to hear what he just said. â What did you say?â
Taehyung looked at you, eyes piercing into your own. â I asked about the third one. Jimin was it?â
â Jimin?â You pulled out, chewing on your head as you remember what had happened on your guysâ first meeting. â I donât know.â
Taehyung pouted, â Then there is still a possibility!â
â If you donât trust my words then go see for yourself.â
At your words, Taehyung turned around and walked out. â I will.â
I will see for myself what you all have.
âïž âïž âïž âïž âïž âïž âïž
A week later, Taehyung upholds his promise by arranging an informal afternoon tea meetup with the rest of the harem. He definitely needed to see how these consorts are faring.
Seated in the middle of the round table where every person that comes and goes is in his vision field, Taehyung patiently waited for all the guests to arrive.
Slowly, the Blue Pearl garden started to get crowded by people, surrounding the table situated under the gazebo.
On his left, seated the Imperial Consort, the only consort that he, the Royal Consort has to show some face to.
It is best said that the relationship between the Imperial Consort and himself is not the best but itâs also not the worst.
We just donât align, is what he would like to say.
Maybe in another situation, he and the Imperial Consort can find a common ground but in a harem, he is barely able to keep it under his control without the interference of another party. As a result, ifâs they canât be acquaintances then being neutrals would do.
Naturally, the farther they are to the host, the inferior their status is, meaning that when those new consorts arrive, they will be on the opposite side of him. More specifically, facing him directly on this round table.
On his right, there sat the eldest Noble Consort, who was all too busy with looking at the surrounding to spare him no mind.
I must agree to what Y/N had said. Childlike yet witty.
Perking up at another incoming group, Taehyung smiled in greeting. â Ah, Consort Sato, welcome. Take a seat next to Noble Consort Jung.â
Bowing down in greetings, Chungho smiled at Taehyungâs words. â Greetings to the Royal Consort, Imperial Consort Min, and Noble Consort Jung,â he said before heading towards the seat next to Hoseokâs
At least this kid knows manners.
Taehyung smiled in satisfaction, â Good. I like you.â
â Iâm honoured to be in your favour.â
â The Consort Yang has arrived!â The eunuch outside announced.
Turning his attention towards the entrance, Taehyung gently nodded in greetings, already not liking the person with a tacky smile.
Unlike Chungho, who was dressed in the imperial hanbok, expected of a concubineâs status; and behaved in a way much like so. Chin-Hae, instead wore the clothes of his homeland, and put on a disgustingly confident smile.
Normally, Taehyung would have overlooked this as he is also interested in ways one can express themselves through fashion but when that person is his rival, he simply canât overlook it.
Like understanding what he was trying to convey, a maid by his side stood up. â Consort Wang sure is unique.â
Instead of being offended, Chin-Hae beamed at her words.
Seeing his expression, Taehyung also smiled in amusement. â Take a seat, Consort Yang.â
Interesting.
â I heard that Xin May is a really energetic country.â
â The epicenter for festivals and entertainment,â Taehyung piped in, casually.
â It really is. I would say that I am forced to attend at least a dozen festivals every year. And that doesnât even account to the ones specific to each region.â
Eyes widening in surprise, Hoseok leaned forward in curiosity. â That must really be eventful.â
â Sounds like you were busy.â
â I really wasnât. Besides, I would trade time for the smallest chance of getting to attend. Unfortunately, my father is trying to train me to inherit the business. Days fill with work and politics is too much for me to cope, however...â Chin-Hae denied, sighing at the thought of the constant work piles.
Blinking at his words, Hoseok commented, â Right, I heard that Consort Sato is interested in politics from your majesty. Is it true?â
Looking up from his hands, Consort Sato bashfully nodded. â I have been interested in politics since childhood but was never allowed to have any information on it.â
â You enjoy politics? Such a unique hobby.â
Taehyung opened his mouth, preparing to say something when he was suddenly interrupted with an announcement.
â Consort Park has arrived!â
Raising his eyebrows at the incoming figure, Taehyung propped his head on top of his hand.
Now, this is a sight to see.
Compared to the rest, Jiminâs attire was overly done. From the expensive materials that were used, to the intricate designs that were sew onto the fabric, one could definitely tell that he was born noble.
With every step, the bells of his bracelet could be heard jingling as Jimin draws closer to the gazebo. Putting on a confident smile, Jimin did a slight bow in greetings, hands clasped over his chest.
â Consort Park certainly is prepared,â Chin-Hae commented, astonished at his attire.
â I thank the Consort Yang for the compliment.â
Taehyung bitterly smiled at the act, feeling his slowly adrenaline rise.
â Please take a seat, Consort Park. The sun is already in its third quarter and the event has yet to start. Without any further interruptiââ
â Apologies, apologies, Royal Consort. I had to do some work and forgot the time. I didnât miss out on anything major, did I?â A booming voice exclaimed, racing from the entrance to where they were.
Taehyung scowled at the familiar voice, eyes glaring at the rushed figure.
â Merchant of the South,â Hoseok greeted.
Like who Hoseok had said, the steps of Seokjin grew closer to the gazebo, face brightened up at the sight in front of him. Stopping meters away from the entrance, Seokjin bent down to a bow in greeting. â Greetings to the Consorts.â
â I was not aware that you were invited.â
â Apologies, I immediately rushed over the moment I heard that you were holding tea time.â
You knew that you were not invited and yetâŠ, Taehyung rolled mentally rolled his eyes before looking to the side, silently motioning for the arrangements to be done.
Nodding at his signal, the person focused on the preparations, no longer caring at the stares he was receiving.
â Seems like you knew that you were not invited,â Yoongi straightforwardly pointed out, â Why are you here then?â
Motioning the maid to go get another chair, Hoseok added, â Are you here to greet the new consorts?â
â Partially. I was getting curious at the uprising of the new trio and wanted to go see for myself.â
Unlike others, Jimin reacted at the comment by clenching his jaded fist. Staring like Iâm an animal, how daring.
Looking around, Jimin noticed how no one was fazed by Seokjinâs words, secretly stunned at how nonchalantly all of them are until his eyes met with Yoongiâs. Flusteredly looking away, Jimin made a move to smooth out his attire, fidgeting with the fabric along the way.
â Apologies, only those who have been given permission to attend can do so,â Taehyung's eyes narrowed Seokjinâs figure, â Besides, I believe the envoy has much better things to attend to than some measly tea event.â
The merchant shook his head in disapproval, â Attending this event is also part of my duties. The emperor has specifically ordered me to visit the consorts frequently to build a better relationship with them⊠Also, it had seemed that I was not the only one that came without being invited.â After that, Seokjinâs eyes automatically set its attention on the person behind the table of herbs.
The host smiled, grabbing his wooden fan on the table before flicking it open, gently oscillating it, â Hmm?... Ah, care to answer that by yourself?â
Setting down the equipment, Namjoon unhurriedly waited for all the boiled water to drain from the pot before gently placing it on the tray. Motioning the maids to bring it, Namjoon made his way to the centre table, smiling all the way. Stopping a couple of steps behind Taehyung, Namjoon clasped his left hand over his right and bowed, â I apologize for not greeting you, Consorts⊠Envoy of Ecenyth. Thanks to the Royal Consort, I have the honour of concocting all the drinks that will be served.â
Scanning up and down, Jimin observed Namjoonâs manners, picking up the Royal Consortâs obvious favour towards him. So he is on his side, or maybe⊠Jimin smiled at the thought which skillfully got hidden by a tea cup placed in front of him.
â Concocting? Sounds like this will have many benefits.â
â Of course, Noble Consort Jung. It wouldnât be right of me to not prepare a nutritious drink,â Namjoon explained.
Hoseok only smiled but made no attempt to reach out for the cup. â Please sit down, envoy. Why not have a cup of tea while you are here?â He offered once he realized Seokjin was still standing.
Smiling gratefully, Seokjin quietly slipped on to the seat that was just delivered.
Scanning around, Taehyung noted how not a single person had consumed the tea. â Why arenât you tasting it? This variety is quite fragrant and wonât be as nutritious if taken cold,â Taehyung commented, letting out a teasing smile, â Perhaps you all are afraid that it is poisoned?â
Feeling the people around him tensed at his blunt words, Taehyung picked up his own cup before taking a sip from it, flipping it over to show he had finished it. â See? Now, drink up.â
Sighing at Taehyungâs words, Yoongi deadpanned at how appetizing and easy it was to step into his trap. How annoying, he thought, glancing at Namjoon before staring into his own. Yoongi gracefully lifted the cup to his nasal, taking in a whiff of its scent. Placing the porcelain edge against his lips, Yoongi carefully took a sip. â Not poisoned.â
Making eye contact with Hoseok, Yoongi subtly nodded, confirming what he previously said was true. Relying on his words, Hoseok also took a sip and smiled at the pleasant taste. â Such a smooth taste.â
Taehyung smiled, at least we work considerably well together.
â Iâm glad that this tea has satisfied you.â
â Move on to the next course,â Taehyung ordered, â I hope you all havenât ate anything today.â
At his command, the surrounding servants were put to work. Skilfully replacing the dishes placed on the tables with new ones, one can see the obvious change in style.
â The decorations have changed,â Chin-Hae commented, looking at the sight in front of him in amazement.
Giggling at his comment, Taehyung nodded. â Of course. Now that we are waiting on the next course, allow me to explain today's concept,â taehyung started, picking up the previous courseâs cup, â With each change in course, a new course will be bestowed based on a designated season. The previous was spring, this time will be summer, eventually becoming autumn and winter.â
Eyes sparkling at Taehyungâs voice, Jimin couldnât help but clasp an exaggerated gesture over his petite face in awe. â Such consideration the Royal Consort has put in.â
Taehyung nodded his head in gratitude, continuing to swing his fan back and forth.
â Unlike spring, summer is considerably heavier so the Royal Consort has highlighted the use of fruits?â Hoseok asked.
â Correct. Do you know the reason why?â
â Because summer has the largest spectrum in terms of fruits.â
Snorting at his words, Taehyung said, â Of course, envoy. However, aside from the taste, there is another factor to why I have put it here.â
â Why?â Chungho asked, curious.
â Itâs because fresh fruits symbolises vitality, youth, abundance⊠and fertility,â Taehyung smiled. âEither way, isnât it the perfect description of the Nurturing Solstice?â
Blushing at the Royal Consortâs indications, Jimin couldn't help but wonder what his life will now be like.
âïž âïž âïž âïž âïž âïž âïž
â They were talking about the Nurturing Solstice?â You asked, â Taehyung must have had a fun time.â
Compared to the past, the current Nurturing solstice is quite watered down. Previously, the Nurturing Solstice did not only mark the start of a new harvest season but also the start of something more humanlyâ something more mature.
â Yes, the new consorts were blushing at the Royal Consortâs openness.â
â Let him have his fun. Cooping up in the palace isnât good for anyone,â you said, â Right, make sure to keep an eye on the new consorts, especially Chin-Hae.â
Clenching his hands, Chin-Hwa clumsily bowed at you tonal command, â yes, your majesty.â
Glancing at his posture from your spot, you observed how uncomposed he became. Sighing, you leaned against the window frame, gazing out of the window. â The sky is darkening.â
â Yes, you majesty. It is estimated that the storm will go on for at least three days.â
You hummed at his reply, â As expected⊠an abrupt change is about to occur.â
Tilting his head at your sudden comment, Chin-Hwa shot you a confused glance.
Dismissing his stare, you continue to stare at the sky.
Itâs just that I donât know how though.

Being a ruler for some, would be a blessing. Others would shudder with just the possibility of said position. After all, isnât the crown the most desperate for blood?
Unlike wild animals, humanity has long hunted for more than they could ever need. It happens so often that people would say that greed was the worst trait for a ruler, but little do people like to admit, greed was something that was inevitable. Everyone has at least some greed inside of them, either burying or flaunting it as their unique trait.
Y/N L/N, the current ruler of Corea was yet to be an exception. Though, they have enough conscience to at least hide it and be a decent ruler.
Using their right palm to steady their head, they continued to look over the countless ministers standing in front of them as the regular audience continued to take place.
â Your majesty, we need to send troops to the east to defend our borders immediately.â
The eastern border connected Corea to the ancient nation that owns the eastern sea. As a result, those people were extremely arrogant and deemed themselves superior because of the amazing achievements that their ancestors have done years ago.
â The eastern bastards are causing trouble again?â Y/N asked, annoyed.
The ministers couldnât help but flinch hearing profanities come out of the monarchâs mouth. Everyone knows that such words could not be said during a formal meeting but who were they to lecture the monarch?
â Yes, your majesty. Even after our recent victory, they have yet to turn around and surrender to our nation.â
Y/Nâs eyes glanced up from their nails to the nervous individual, irises gleaming in interest.
â Is that so? What have they been doing?â
â Reporting to your majesty, the Grimoresâ guards have been destroying our farmlands and threatened many of our people there. As a result, agriculture has decreased by a large amount. People living there are suffering under Grimoreâs violence.â
Perking their left eyebrow at the somewhat expected eyebrow, Such ignorant people, Y/N thought.
The eastern land was one of the best places in Korea for hurting crops and agriculture. The crops there almost took up half the entire stock of supplies that the palace gets every week.
So thatâs why the servants were complaining, they thought.
â Do you have any suggestions, General Kwong?â
General Kwong, a name that would bring fear to people across all lands. He was part of the four leaders that have guarded the borders for years on end and have made many outstanding achievements because of it.
â I believe that it is best to send troops over to the border and eliminate them all.â
After hearing those words, the monarchâs eyes turned cold.
â General Kwong, you truly do have some courage,â tilting their head, Y/N continued to taunt the general, â Are you not afraid that they would retaliate? Even if we were to bring victory home, our relationship with them would be on thin string. Are you willing to take such responsibility when such things occur.â
Cupping his left hand over his right, General Kwong brought them to his forehead before executing a low bow to show his respect.
â My bloodline would take all the responsibility if the eastern bastards were to declare war with our nation,â he announced.
Letting out a smirk, eyes gleaming with bloodlust, Y/N glanced at the bowed figure.
â How are you so certain that they will not declare war with us?â
He affirmed, â Compared to the Grimores, our nation is prospering at an inhumane pace. Even if we are much younger than them, they would still have to show some face and be more pliant. The guards at the borders are just teenagers who know nothing and just want a taste of power, I am sure that the intrusions have yet to even reach the main city.â
Have not yet reached the main city, does he mean thatâŠ
â By that, do you mean that the imperial family have no idea about the attacks. And that it was caused by children?â
General Kwong shivered at their tone, feeling all too warm in a sudden.
â Iâm afraid it is so.â
Y/N glared at him, â You mean that you were incapable of protecting the border? To what? Measly children who have even yet fallen into reality? How daring of you, General Kwong!â Â
Practically letting gravity push him towards the ground, he frantically tried to come up with an explanation.
â My apologies, your majesty! This servant does not know that those bastards were going to threaten the border.â
Y/N did not like shortsighted people to serve under them. People who only focus on what may benefit them would not put out the necessary effort to ensure that they were safe from less ideal possibilities. Hence, why Y/N have to deal with the current mess the east is facing now.
It has only been a few hours after the sun has rises but they could already sense that a headache is brewing. Â
â How shortsighted you are, General Kwong,â Y/N seethes out, â Did those dozens of years out in the battlefield crippled your brain that you were unable to even think of such a possibility?â
â T-this servant acted rashly. This will not happen next time, your majesty.â Â
Sighing, Y/N shook their head, â Make sure to keep this promise, General Kwong.â
General Kwong nodded his head immediately, mouth rambling promises to help support his genuine apology. He only stood back up after Y/N motioned him to.
â Send 1000 soldiers to the eastern border. General Kim, you will be leading this mission,â the monarch commanded.
General Kim stepped up from his position, and bowed down, accepting their command.
General Kim, one of Y/Nâs most trusted officers. He was once their companion who has travelled together long before Y/N have to ascend the throne. General Kim was already notorious for his sharp knowledge on various weapons along with a keen mind. As a result, he was one of the first people to be granted a position after the new dynasty was formed.
Knowing that he will definitely complete it, Y/N let out a satisfied nod.
â Make sure that those kids will never escape from their job again. You can do anything to educate them. Children like them need a strict instructor in order to blossom,â the monarch said, satisfied.
And with that, the topic came to an end.
Seeing the previous topic have finally come to an end, another soon appeared.
â Your majesty, regarding your harem, this sââ
â Minister Jung, why are you so persistent in expanding my harem? Isnât three already enough?â Y/N interrupted.
Minister Jung, another old officer from the previous dynasty who has switched sides in order to survive. He was also a man known for his greed yet a thoughtful insight who would choose the absolute best option, even if it meant being a two-faced bastard. Even though his personality wasnât the best, he has helped Y/N multiple times in the past thus granting him the position of higher rank.
Minister Jung, was also infamous for his suggestion on constantly wanting to admit new concubines every couple of weeks. Regardless of how powerful he seems, however, he does not get to have the final say. Never in his life would he get the chance to do so.
â Your majesty, just by having three consorts doesnât give the imperial a natural balance. Your majestyâs harem has been the most limited in the entirety of Coreaâs history!â
All the officers nodded in agreement. They all knew that if their son were to enter the harem, and even gain a piece of the majestyâs favour, then their houseâs name will become known for as long as the monarch was on the throne and hopefully even after that.
â And where are you going with this, Minister Jung?â
â Your majesty, I suggest a competition to help select a few more concubines.â
Ah⊠the same old idea, how utterly boring.
â Continue.â
â A concubine selection would occur at a good time where the imperial family will be recruiting whoever you see fit.â
Looking contemplated, Y/N then looked over to their bodyguard to see his uncomfortable face. Obviously wanting to tease him, they decided to follow whatever plan the minister was setting out.
â The selection will definately be happening,â Minister Jung lightened up at their words, but that quickly changed when he heard what came after.
â But when it's happening will be undetermined.â
â Y-y-your m-majesty, please reconsider. Your age is not that small anymore, if we were to pass your young adult years, it will be much harder to recruit concubines later on,â Minister Jung then motioned to the rest of his section to follow his lead.
Soon after, over one third of the ministers all yelled out while bowing down to the monarch, â Your majesty, please reconsider! Your majesty, please reconsider! Your majesty, please consider.â
Seeing how much of a fraction Minister Jung managed to gather for himself, Y/N began to think that all the effort they had put in was all in vain. After all, they didnât need disloyal bastards? Who knows what they could be planning behind their back?
â Tch, who do you think you all are?â
Everyone in the room shivered at the monarchâs tone, knowing that if they did not upset them with bringing up this topic, they clearly have now.
â You think that you could control me with your little words? How daring of you!â
â Y-your majesty, we donât mean it that way. W-we all j-just want the b-best for you,â Minister Jung stuttered out. Â
â The best for me? You think that youâre in the spot to do so?â
â Y-your majesty, p-p-please dwell your anger, it will affect your h-health.â
â My health? Are you taking me as a joke? Thinking that you can control me because I have yet to fully mature?â Y/N seethed out.
Though, the current monarch was yet to be the youngest but they have still not reach a mature age to properly decipher from right or wrong.
Well, at least that was what they all thought.
Standing up from their throne, they made their ways down the stairs while looking into every single pair of eyes that were previously begging them to reconsider.
â I believe that you have forgotten that I single-handedly killed the previous king hence ending the Min dynasty. I was also kind enough to save your disloyal asses to enter my court and serve me, knowing the possibility that you all will change sides when another one appears.â
With their words, all the ministers bowed down in shame, knowing that it was true.
â I was also the one to help you build your fame. You all were lower rank nobles and didnât have that much influence. I was the one who guided and helped you to become what you are now! And what did you do to repay my kindness? By forcefully controlling me for your own gains?â
Y/N walked to where Minister Jung was, â It looks to me that I didnât train you all enough⊠No, if you even dare to even repeat this same mistake, donât even think of entering this room ever again!â Y/N announced, â Weâre done for today. Jungkook, letâs go.â
Jungkook then snapped back to reality from Y/Nâs mentioning his name. Immediately after, he quickly rushed towards their walking figure and both left the room.
âïž âïž âïž âïž âïž âïž âïž
Not being able to conceal his curious gaze, Jungkook kept glancing at the powerful figure in front of him.
Obviously sensing his curiosity, you could help but rub the area between your eyebrows to help soothe your headache.
Sighing, you told him, â Asked whatever you want, Jungkook.â
Flushing at how obvious he seemed, Jungkook shyly fidget the violet tassel of his sword, not knowing how to start the conversation.
â If you donât mind me asking, how were you able to⊠to do that?â
â Do what, Jungkook?â
Jungkook pouted, knowing that you obviously knew what he meant.
â How you managed to win.â
âWin? I didnât think it was that much of a victoryâŠIn your perspective, how did I do it?â You questioned back.
As he continued to walk behind you, Jungkook tried to recall what he earned in the previous lessons he did with you. Unfortunately, all he got was a few unnecessary words and a black mind.
As a result, he could only go for the most obvious option.
â Hmm⊠you managed to control the situation by poking at their weakness?â
â That... is part of it but it occupies quite a small part in how I managed to do it.â
Jungkook nodded, obviously intrigued at your previous actions.
â At the beginning, I acted quite intrigued at the suggestion to lead him to where he could possibly make a mistake. You must know, Jungkook, that anyone will make a mistake when their adrenaline reaches a certain point. You must take hold of such opportunities and use it to your advantage,â Â you explained.
â What did you do next?â
â You must observe the situation and predict what will happen.â
Not understanding your words, the boy stopped in his tracks, seemingly lost in his own thoughts.
â How does that work?â
You stopped in your tracks and turned around, staring into his doe eyes, you let out a smile.
â That is a lesson for another time but for now, you need to do something for me.â
Letting out a small pout, Jungkook looked at you curiously, â What do I need to work on.â
â Your emotions.â
â My emotions?â
â Yes, you wear your emotions on your sleeves, practically letting everyone the chance to manipulate you.â
â Please elaborate.â
â Alright, hmm⊠you know how predators always sneak up on their prey and wait for the right moment to finish them?â
Jungkook nodded, â Unlike you, these predators are always calm and act strategically, making sure that they leave no tracks behind while approaching the prey. They hide into the background and stay silent until the perfect time where they launch towards the prey and end them.â
With this explanation, Jungkook becomes more confused.
â So I need to be the predator?â
You nodded, somewhat happy that he understood the overall concept.
â Yes, you need to be aware of what you are letting others know about you. You have to be able to use what you have to your advantage,â you said, â Do you understand?â
â...â
Not hearing his response, you chuckled, â You donât need to understand it now. We will continue to work on it. If you want, go to Taehyung whenever you are free and ask for his assistance.â
You then lift your right hand from their position from your side before setting them on top of his head. Ruffling his ivory black hair before turning away.
Jungkook, on the other hand froze at the feeling of your hand on top of his head.
â... Y-yes, your majesty.â
â Good, letâs go.â
And with that, you continued your way to your office, content with the current outcome.
âïž âïž âïž âïž âïž âïž âïž
Walking into your office, you couldnât help but let out a tired sigh. Today was truly one of those days that exhausted most of your energy. Unfortunately, being the person who makes the final say in all the decisions of the nation does not leave you that much time to relax and have your way.
Taking off the outer jacket of your hanbok, you stretched out your back before making your way to the expansive desk in the corner of the spacious room.
Contrary to popular belief, your office was rather simple. With just your desk and a little table for guests as the centrepieces. There were multiple shelves displayed on the other walls. You liked to keep the space simple as the place mostly gets covered in the amount of work you finished over the spans of days.
You made yourself as comfortable as you can in the seat, and began with the papers that were underneath the paperweight. Picking up the brush nearby, dipping it into the already grinded ink, you then began to work on the necessary papers that were starting to pile up.
To say the least, your office was a busy destination. There were constantly people entering your office day and night but you made sure that those people were yours; to ensure that no unneeded individual could get any information that was likely going to threaten your position.
Minutes then morphed into hours leading you into the familiar embrace of the night.
Deciding that it was time to take a break, you stood up from your seat and began to organize the paper into piles that were going to be returned to the different departments the day after.
After that, you began to stretch out your sore limbs to try and relax your tense muscles. Groaning at how your muscles seem to refuse to move, you tried to warm it up by doing a few exercises.
As you were warming up, you noticed that the lavender oil that you have used earlier was still permitting a comforting fragrance within your study. Impressed by the quality, you found yourself spending some time inhaling the scent while stretching out your muscles.
When you were finally able to move properly, you walked towards the desk and pour yourself a cup of tea.
As you continued to work, Jungkook constantly entered the room to refill the pot of tea despite you insisting that you donât need it. Though, you were thankful for his thoughtfulness as you got to enjoy a cup of hot tea that was tingling your numb senses.
Blinking a few times to help clear your vision, you looked over to the shadow that was behind your closed doors. Knowing who it is, you began to walk your way towards the door after setting your cup down, feeling the need to go for some fresh air.
However, before you managed to even take five steps, a figure suddenly approached Jungkook.
His shadow was quite tall and was quite similar to Jungkooks. The pair seemed to be arguing about something that you didnât quite manage to catch on. Confused at whatever they were talking about, you started to contemplate whether or not you should intervene.
That worry soon came to an end when the door was pushed open.
â Y/N?â
Letting the bitter taste of the tea coat your tongue, waiting for the effect to sooth your tired self and come back to life. Your tired eyes that were previously blurring your vision from how strained it was, slowly loosen up before clearing up.
May I request Y/N being stressed/angry and lashing out to the harem boys? Maybe yelling or accidentally hitting them? Sorry if your requests are full or closed!
(Please have a happy/fluff ending, If you can! I can't handle sad endings đ )
Donât worry, anon, you will definately know when requests will close. On top of that, it will be sometime until it will close. Also just a warning, this entire serie is pretty angsty so please be prepare. I also apologized for not releasing this earlier. Anyways, enjoy đż

Kim Taehyung
Work have been piling up and has been causing you quite a bit of stress. Deciding to try and finish them all, you stayed within your study hours on end to push through the piles of work.
However, luck seemed to not be on your side tonight with unexpected matters constantly coming up after one another; to top it off, Taehyung had decided to personally come visit you.
Although he came with a reasonable purpose, because of how much stress you were under, it had clouded your mind, making you unable to realize what Taehyung was here for.
As a result, the moment you lashed out and knocked the pile of papers next to you, time seem to stopped.
Surprise at your rash actions, you couldnât help but gaze over Taehyungâs figure, anxiously searching his face for any negative reaction.
However, contrary to what you were expecting, Taehyung decided to close the gap between you both. Before being in physical contact with you, Taehyung kneeled down and began to pick up all the fallen manuscripts and placed them neatly on the desk.
Afterward, he just hold your hand and told you that he was not mad at you. After the initial shock, you apologized and decided that it was time to end the day.
â You donât have to apologized, I understand what youâre experiencing.â
Kim Namjoon
With another day having audiences with different people, it was almost a guaranteed that your day will not be that great. With the accumulation of reports from the servants of a potential thief, you desperately wanted to resign this position and go back to what you were doing. Unfortunately, there was no going back when you are this far in.
Anyways, coincidentally, today was also the day of your monthly health checkup. Unfortunately, you totally forgot about it and dismissed Namjoonâs calls when he came.
Despite already sensing your mood, Namjoon continues to press on until you yelled at him, even throwing a book at him. Dismissing him on the spot, you didnât even think about your actions until hours afterward.
Guilty of what you did, you summoned him to visit you again. You both then spent the time together to resolve the problem, apologizing for your guysâ rash actions.
â I should have stop when I saw how busy you were. I apologized.â
Jung Hoseok
Going outside the suffocating palace was always a pleasure for you. Having the chance to forget your worries and just be yourself doesnât always happen after ascending the throne so you definitely cherish these little moments.
Usually, you would spend most of those times alone but this time however, Hoseok have decided to accompany you on your little journey. You agreed, thinking of him as just a companion who you would spend your time with, not as his babysitter.
Maybe it was his innocent looks that attracted whatâs opposite of him. The longer you guys are outside, the more wicked people became towards you. And to top it off, Hoseok doesnât seem very affected by how vulgar they were being.
Finally having enough, you entangle your hands with his and stomped towards the opposite direction, openly ignoring yells coming from behind while lecturing how oblivious he is. Though, after minutes of voicing out your problems, Hoseok became eerily silent. Quiet little mumbles were then heard coming from his mouth which you assumed were apologies.
Deciding that it was enough adventure for a day, you pull Hoseok towards the palace, not forgetting to tell him that it was indeed alright.
â... I am sorry... I didnât know.â
Min Yoongi
Yoongi can be quite clumsy when he is nervous and that is his usual mindset whenever he is with you. Normally, you wouldnât even bat an eye if he were to accidentally knock the piles of work that you have worked on for hours â you have a soft spot for him.
Now that was what happens most of the time. However, you also tend to be quite witty when youâre frustrated, fully flaunting your adrenaline.
Making witty comments about his little mistakes, you â at that moment could not tell how much it affected Yoongi.
Unfortunately, his self-esteem continues to decline further when your arm went a little to close to him when he accidentally swept the tea cup off the desk. You immediately stood up and kneeled down, about to help him pick up the shattered pieces when he suddenly flinched at your actions.
Instantly backing away, you noticed the shivers that were wracking down on his petite figure.
Gently apologizing, you carefully brought your hand to his cheek, slowly to not agitate him. Using your other hand to bring him into your embrace, and staying there for how ever long he would need.
â I-I am so sorry... Didnât mean to break it...â
Jeon Jungkook
Training with Jungkook was something that you do quite frequently, either for relieving stress or to work on your skills. This time around, it was for the first reason.
Normally, you and Jungkook would both jokingly points out the oppositeâs mistake or weakness whenever you guy duel, especially on Jungkookâs part. However, this time around, you werenât in the mood to get teased and it definitely backfired to the both of you.
Jungkookâs words have went a little too far and had offended you.
Without even a chance to react, you pointed your blade against his neck, scaring him in the process.
Warning him for his precarious action, you lowered your sword before closing the gap between the two of you.
Noticing how you managed to slide the skin of his neck amidst the heated moment, you then dragged him to the benches nearby to get treated. Carefully applying the medicine to the open wound while paying attention to the apologies slurring out from his mouth, you still remained quiet.
After finished bandaging the cut, you lead him back to the training ground and force him to fight you, claiming that he must compensate you both physically and vocally.
â Your majesty can punish me. I crossed the line, thus offending you during the process.â
Kim Seokjin
With how loud Seokjin can become, you are not very surprise how fast annoyed or frustrated others can get from just from a conversation with him.
However, you didnât expect that you were part of that as well â at least when youâre not stressed. Anyways, with Seokjin having literally nothing to do within the palace, he definitely used that to his advantage when talking â pestering you.
Trying to ignore his constant pester, you tried to resume your previous work. Accidentally striking your hands up in frustration, slapping Seokjin with the brutal force, you were suddenly snapped back into reality.
Luckily, all he did was screamed at you while exaggerating his now crimson cheeks. Forcing you to help him apply the medicine while hear him complain seemed not that bad as of now, as long as you donât lose him.
â YAH! Be careful, do you know that compensating me by just applying medicine is not enough??? Lucky for you, I didnât receive any major injuries!â
Park Jimin
Flirtatious and frustration does not combine well, especially between you and Jimin.
In these moments, you guys might as well label each other fire and ice with how different you are.
Smoke could almost be seen surging out of your ears, cheeks so crimson that you can almost be described as a tomato. On the other hand, Jimin was sitting opposite of you, calmly looking over your work as though it was nothing worth keeping.
Taking offense of how much time you have put on these manuscript, you snatched them out of his grasp, yelling at him to leave the room.
Stunned at what you just did, Jimin could only sit there and stared at your demolished figure.
Noticing how he had yet to move, you stared into his eyes, silently ordering him to leave.
But how did you ever thought that Jimin would leave you alone, especially in this kind of situation? Freezing at how close he suddenly is, you were dragged from your disastrous desk to the bed.
After getting tucked in, you got hugged by Jimin, spending hours there afterward.
â You better still be here the moment I wake up. If not, donât expect to be doing anything tomorrow!â

BTSâ Reaction to Going Outside
Warnings: Nothing
Masterlist
Chrysanthemums: this particular flower has been said to symbolise fidelity, optimism, and joy. Aside from their beauty, this is a flower that is long-lasting, low-maintenance and quite affordable.
Kim Taehyung
With his constant attempts to avoid doing anything physical, Taehyung does occasionally enjoys the outside setting.
However, most of his time would be spent bathing in natureâs warmth rather than interacting with others. Just having these little silent yet peaceful moments really replenishes his mental stability. It is also a time where memories of the past would revisit him.
Spending time just enjoying your presence under the sunâs warm gaze, and talking about your guysâ memories really makes Taehyung cherish it even more.
Also, donât forget to bring Yeontan with you guys. As the proud parent of Yeontan, Taehyung would feel so much pride whenever you play with the little pup.
It reminds him of the family that he can come to whenever he needs them and that there are still people who cares for him.
â The landscape here is so pretty! How did you find it?... Yeontan! Run with Y/n!â
Kim Namjoon
Whenever you and Namjoon go outside, you both always end up in random bookstores littered throughout the different districts.
Spending your time talking about the manuscripts and writings that you both had previously read as you browse the stores.
Reaching out to grab what had interested you while tuning in to Namjoonâs conversation with the seller about the newly released medical books, you began to take out your wallet, preparing to pay for your guysâ items.
After deciding on what you wanted, you headed to the front of the store and payed for your items. Swiftly snatching the books that Namjoon had wanted, you turned around and exited the store after greeting the seller.
Hopelessly sighing at your attempts to prevent him room destroying the products, Namjoon greeted and thanked the seller before quickly running after you. On to the next store you both go.
â You donât need to do that, Y/n. You know I wonât accidentally rip the pages, itâs not possible... you can keep it until we get back.â
Jung Hoseok
Coming from a noble household, Hoseok was surprisingly quite comfortable with the outside world. Maybe itâs his natural ability to befriend anyone or the friendly vibe that he gives off.
Either way, it definitely attracts quite a bit of people, even with him dressed as a commoner. You also noticed that he seemed more relaxed here than in the palace, almost as if he had spent years living here.
Anyways, always pay attention to where he is since he can easily disappear when he gets interested in something. Having experienced it a few times, Hoseok does have some presciences to stay close to you but when he gets excited, all of those get thrown out of the window with him rushing to whatever like an overexcited child.
â The lady at that stall was so friendly, she even gave me an extra bun! You can have it... gasp, Look! Theyâre performing something, letâs go over there and see!â
Min Yoongi
The amount of times Yoongi have ever step foot outside of the palaceâs walls are in the single digits.
As a child, the vicious adults would constantly feed his curiosity by telling him all the myths involved in the streets, and how dirty it is.
As a result, he was quite hesitant in going out to the streets. However, Yoongi will go out as long as he is with you.
If you both are alone, without any guards or servants to accompany you; the trip will be quite interesting. Like a little child, heâs quite hesitant on venturing out so do expect him to be quite attached to you.
However, as he is in the public, he does have to maintain his little persona. To others, he might just look possessive of his companion, but to you, it was more like an act from an overly dramatic kitten. Though, you will have to make sure to keep that thought to yourself. After all, Yoongi has a reputation to uphold.
â What is that? ... Food? Is it really edible? Is it safe to eat? Do I want to try? ... W-why a-are you buying them?â
Jeon Jungkook
What originally was him accompanying you changed to you actually accompanying Jungkook. With his mixed bloodline, the streets have always been a pleasure break for him, especially with how hectic and annoying the palace can become.
As a result, Jungkook really enjoyed spending his time out here during his childhood.
However, as he gets older, he found himself getting more involved with the harem, hence not having the time to enjoy these simple things.
As a result, the moment he heard about your little outing, heâll be sprinting out the door and prepare for the departure.
Dressing in commonerâs clothing reminds him of the peaceful days as a child where he could wander to wherever without getting pestered at.
With the familiar earthy smell of the ground and the loud crowds, Jungkook practically dragged you to every stall positioned on both sides, pushing his way through the crowd while still maintaining that goofy grin.
â Your majâ, n-no I mean Y/n, do you perhaps enjoy this?... Itâs so pretty and delicate!... Letâs go and see why theyâre crowding over there!â
Kim Seokjin
Convincing Seokjin to step out of his luxurious carriage is already difficult, but getting him to put away the roll of red fabric is practically impossible.
However, after pulling him out of the carriage, it was already too late to go back. So as a result, have fun with all of his nagging.
Being the rich merchant he is, Seokjin would pull you around pointing at every product while saying a sarcastic comment about their quality, as well as exaggerate his products to you.
With how loud he is, it is expected that every merchant would overhear your guysâ conversation and get offended by him degrading their product.
As a result of his obnoxious behaviour, the entire crew got chased by countless people, barely being able to get back to the palace in one piece. Looks like you will never do this with Seokjin again.
â The quality of this candle is the worse Iâve ever seen. Mine is way better! Why are they looking at us like that?â
Park Jimin
Despite his not so pleasant view on the outside world, it is the only place where Jiminâs secret low esteem gets replenish whenever he shows off his flirtatious side. Having people falling head over heels for his appearance makes him so giddy that he would do anything to make the most of it.
However, that doesnât mean that he will completely ignore your presence because youâre his main target! Constant little flirts would be sent your way as you both venture in the streets until you both entered the beauty section.
Completely forgetting his previous intentions, Jiminâs eyes sparkled at the countless jewelry and accessories that were displayed. Practically hopping to every store, Jimin excitedly showed you all the items that had caught his eyes.
Paying for whatever he had picked out, you happily watched his interaction with the seller, glad to see the little innocence he had buried deep inside him.
â Yourâ Y/n! Look at what I found! Doesnât this match my eyes? Quick, come! I just saw this really pretty necklace!â
- the seven most powerful person in the harem aside from the ruler, themself.
Masterlist
Kim Taehyung
Status: Royal Consort
He is the first person that had joined Y/Nâs harem and ultimately became one with the most power in it. He had joined Y/N in their mission to become the ruler. Born into a matriarchal family, he was deemed lesser than a slave. Y/N was the one who became his first ever true friend, one who understands him and protects him. Even though he was not born with a stealthy body, he has an extraordinary mind. He along with Y/N were the sole contributors to the successful plan at raiding the palace.
Taehyung has a bubbly person despite his childhood trauma but he only shows that side to people he trust. For the rest, he is cold yet kind which earned him a lot of respect from others. As a result he is deemed as the perfect role model for many. He has an okay relationship with the rest of the harem but is secretly jealous of having to share Y/N. Is one of the clingier members but it is because of his close relationship with Y/N.
Kim Namjoon
Status: Royal Physician
Despite his status, everyone knows that the relationship between Y/N and himself is anything but normal. Before the actual raid, Namjoon acted as the spy who gathers the inner secrets and information for the organisation. He was a war child from a distant nation who had been sent here to fight as an attempt to steal land. Unfortunately, the attempt was unsuccessful and he found himself stuck here. Because of his creative and witty mind, he managed to escape but the attempt almost killed him. Thankfully, Y/N was training nearby and decided to save him. He then went through rigorous training to learn about medicine and drugs, making him one of the best doctors in the organization.
As the royal physician, he is incharge of Y/N and the haremâs. Meaning that he is only responsible for them but he only truly cared for a few. He has a close relationship with Taehyung as they are both apart of the organization.
Jung Hoseok
Status: Noble Consort
Jung Hoseok was Y/Nâs second consort. He was a ministerâs son who had join Y/Nâa rebellion. After Y/N became the ruler, the minister wanted to rise to a higher position and gave them Hoseok. As a result, Hoseokâs first impression of Y/N was tyrannical. They were the one who killed the king and most of the disatisfied ministers. But as time goes by, he realizes that Y/N is not what he had thought.
Hoseokâs aura is very similar to the sun once you get past his shield which is painstakingly hard. He has quite a close relationship with Min Yoongi as they are childhood friends; he was also meant to be Yoongiâs attendant when he ascends to the throne. His personality made the cold-blooded prince adore his little friend. Despite having feelings for Y/N, he suprisingly has a great relationship with all members of Y/Nâs harem.
Min Yoongi
Status: Imperial Consort
Despite his title, Yoongi found himself in the middle of the haremâs hierarchy. Yoongi was the crown prince of the previous dynasty but he had always expressed as not willing to ascend the throne resulting him to be unfavored my his father. He was distinguishly soft-hearted which causes dissatisfaction on his paternal side. As a result, he would constantly get torture until he could teach himself to act a certain way. When Y/N came and snatched his mask away, he find himself resembling a broken child, Yoongi then began to cling up to her as she is the only one who could protect and heal him.
His first interaction with Y/N was not very ideal. It was minutes before Y/N managed to kill the emperor when he appeared. Before Yoongi could even process what was happening, dozens of guards were already surrounding him. They made him watch his fatherâs execution before their attention turned to him. He thought that he was also going to have the same fate as his distasteful father but Y/N saved him. They then began to break his mask and help him build up a healthier one. Now, even if he doesnât publicly show it, he is happy by Y/Nâs side. As a result, he is also a part of the clingy group who sticks to Y/Nâs side.
Jeon Jungkook
Status: Bodyguard
As the bastard child of the previous Empress, he was hated the moment he was born. Everyone viewed him as an unlucky omen who brings everyone bad luck. He, himself had also believed such lies since many of his trusted family had died because of him. He managed to survive the raid because of pity; the rebels pitied his condition and did not think of him as a threat. He then got placed as a normal soldier but quickly soar through the ranks for his extraordinary skills.
The first time he met Y/N was when he won his first competitive tournament against other soldiers as an attempt to get a better position. Y/N became interested in him and offered him the position as their personal bodyguard. At that time, he was desperate to survive so he desperately agreed. Despite his great physiques, his mind is not very logical nor strategic. As a result, he is currently forced to learn said things. Despite this, he is still considered to be quite bright, playful yet cute. He is not apart of the clingy group as he only viewed himself having to be at Y/Nâs side most of the time.
When he heard that Y/N became the ruler, he decided to go and meet them. Since his company was one of the best, he decided to use said reason to approach them. He was suprisingly cheeky and even offer himself during their first meeting. In order to stay inside the palace, he used the reason of having to check each shipment to do so. Y/N does not recognized him which he find troublesome but unexpectedly doesnât have the guts to tell them so he decided to woo them with his charms.
Park Jimin
Status: Noble Consort
Jimin is the oldest prince of a neighbouring country who had sent him to help keep the two nations at peace. Since it was a matriarchal country, they naturally favour female over him. As a result, he had been trained at many feminine arts. He became so good that it made everyone charmed every time he passes by. Because of his training, his real self hides under a flirty and sly facade he had succefully built over the years.
As mentioned from above, Y/N had a natural talent for understanding and read people so when they saw him, it became their goal to help him. At first, he refused their attempts to help him but as time goes by, he learned to open up and let them help him. After opening up, he still managed to hold some of the flirtyness and slyness but he is getting there. Taehyung and him had quite a positive relationship as they come from similar environment. He is also apart of the clingy âunionâ.
L/N Y/N
Status: Empress/Emperor of Corea
Y/N was born into a family who was one of the leading families in the organization. In other words, they were born to be a skilled killer. As a child, Y/N did not understand why their organization hated the Min Royals so much but that stopped when they successfully completed their first mission at 9 years old. They quickly climbed up the ranks and became one of the most skilled individuals in the organization and earned respect from many. Their greatest and longest mission yet is to lead Corea to a bright future and then secretly escape after finding a good replacement.
As of currently, they have 3 official consorts and a few other who has yet to confirm about their relationship. Y/N tries to remain at least a neutral relationship with each of them since they would have to leave one day. Unknowingly, all of their lovers had fall too deep to even think of climbing back up.

Kim Taehyung
When Taehyung got picked to be the Royal Consort, he thought that he would finally be able to spend the most time with you like before you guys have met Namjoon. Oh how he was so wrong. At least with Namjoon, he would have a reason to stay with you for a few hours for the monthly checkup but for him, he had to wait for you to take the initiative! As the consort, his contact to the outside world can only be reserve for private moments, and he canât just randomly visit you whenever he wants to nor go on a date whenever he wants to. To make it worse, the others have been teasing him about getting neglected by you. Taehyung knows this might not be true but seeing how many people had come to hate him because of his status, heâs secretly afraid that you would come to hate him.
This especially worsens when more people entered your private circle. With Seokjin and Jimin being overly flirtatious with you, Taehyung almost had no chance to even have a night with you to himself. But being with you for so long, he of course knew you the best and know how much affections you have towards him. Using that information, he would purposely cling to you whenever he had the chance like a puppy marking its territory. With his witty mind, he knew just when to pull away before crossing the line. Sometimes, Taehyung would jokingly sulk within your arms about how you donât spend enough time with him, but it will all be well as long as you promise him the opposite and smother him in affection.
â Y/NNNN, I was feeling so lonely without you. Others even started to tease me, too...HMPH. Compensate me by spending more time with me! We can do anything, sleep, talk about politics, even go on missions.â
Kim Namjoon
As the head of the physcian department, there are several meetings every season that he must be present as a representative of the royal physicians. Namjoon have been extremely lucky to not have his usual time with you be corrupted with these meetings, but that soon came to an end as the upcoming meeting was rescheduled to days before the initial date. Unfortunately, that day was the day where he had your monthly checkup. Even though Namjoon could easily just rearrange the time, he finds that the change would be too bothersome and would mess up his neat schedule. As a result, the day of the your monthly checkup, Namjoon will be attending the meeting while the vice-head will be doing his work. The meeting unsurprisingly smooth and he found himself back in the castle just in time. What did not go as plan was when he heard you suggesting permanently changing the person in charge of your health to someone else.
As calm as he can be at times, Namjoon was bewildered by the nonchalant comment. Expectedly, his next action was to ask you why and try to untie the knots, despite already fearing the worse. Personally, Namjoon found comfort in the time you guys spend time with each other, an he has a feeling that you resonate to that as well. When you explained that with how busy he is with his other work, maybe being your personal physician wonât be that efficient in the long run. Not wanting to lose your guysâ time to another, Namjoon immediately refused your claims, stating that he was more than happy to put the extra effort for you. With what he said in mind, Y/N nodded, accepting his claims.
â Iâm afraid I would have to correct you on this. I do not find it frustrating nor annoying or any of sort when being made responsible for your health. In fact, I find it very much rewarding getting to spend more time with you.â
Jung Hoseok
As a ministerâs son, it was shocking news to you with how familiar Hoseok seems in the streets. The boy was literally bouncing from one end to the other, seemingly knowing everyone in one of your guysâ dates. Truthfully, youâve never seen someone so happy just being outside, especially someone that was born from the riches. You just assumed that nobles would frown in distasteful or worse whenever they are forced onto the dirty grounds of the streets, accustomed to having carpets payed everywhere they go. But how the miniature had proved you wrong. Amidst the moment, Hoseok could be mistaken as just a normal civilian if it wasnât for his stunning face. Any lady that past by would have to stop and stare at his bright smile.
Hoseok, knowing that he wonât get lecture when out in the streets, decided to be his self for once and began socializing with them. You on the other hand, just stood by him casually, watching him enjoying himself, deciding to take him out whenever you have to go outside as well. everything was going smoothly until a person came up to the group, casually creating a conversation between him and you. Deciding to be polite, Hoseok greeted him but was ignored by the guy. Seeing how impolite he is, Hoseok tried to be as polite as possible but his patience was slowly running thin when he started to flirt with you. The last straw was when he jokingly said bringing you home to do the deed; Hoseok stood up, knocking his chair over with a loud âthudâ, silently muttered greetings to the ones who were present, before pulling you towards the entrance. On the way, Hoseok couldnât help but hold your hand tight while his eyes continue to agitated, predicting any other offender before they can even do anything. Seeing how serious he was, Y/N tried to comfort him, hugging him to prevent confusing any other people walking pass by. Looks like your little sunshine is not as bright when he is in a bad mood.
â He was literally flirting with you the whole time! We will never go outside again... No, we will go outside but... Why didnât you use your sword when he was being touchy with you?â
Min Yoongi
Yoongi is envied by many because of how much time he gets to spend time with you but the man himself just thinks that he is repaying you by taking away part of your worries. Regardless of the reason, he had got quite used to being alone with you most of the time whenever youâre in office. There will be times where people will come into your study but the time you guysâ spend alone with each other easily outweigh that. Besides, those poeple knew better than to flirt with you in front of your consort who is the highest rank in the harem. Even if heâs a fallen prince and has no power, Yoongi could still easily handle the minor officers on his own. Yoongi may be more vulnerable and desperate around you but he is still a prince that was train to become the future king. He, however, will only resort to that method when absolutely necessary, afraid of tainting your image of him, despite you knowing how skillful he is in this domain. Most of the times, he is very thankful that he is the resilient but sometimes, he must say that he somewhat regrets of deciding not to end those people in these situations.
Anyways, Yoongi, your little consort as well as little kitten, was behaving more like a feline as Jimin continues to flirt with you. The handsome brunette was onc again capturing your attention with his flirtatious remarks. Normally, Jimin would have a specific time slot that he would save to go visit you which was during the night. Today, however, Jimin decided to come and visit you during the evening, intervening with Yoongiâs perfectly peaceful time with you. It only got worse with Jimin obvious teasing smirks whenever he looks Yoongiâs way, as if silently challenging him to a fight. Now, similar to a panther, Yoongi stepped towards Jimin, and pick the said boy up and âkickedâ him out of the room, claiming that Y/N still have many things to do. Turning around, Yoongi could only smirk but immediately blushed when he met your amused gaze. Opening your arms, you offered him a hug, Yoongi could only obey and continued to flush when in your arms.
â His actions prevented you from finishing your work so I-I wanted to...â
Jeon Jungkook
Despite hearing some pretty outrageous remarks in his life, his time with you is by for the strangest. With you seeming so experienced in your role, Jungkook had to somehow match your pace in his as well. As a result, Jungkook find himself especially hard working whenever he is alone with you. Not saying that he isnât hard working at other times, Jungkook just puts out more effort when he is alone with you. Others who only see you in public, assumes that Jungkook sucks at his job and tried to degrade him from his position, knowing how much benefits would approach them when becoming your personal guard. Jungkook, of course, knew about their intentions but ultimately decided to ignore them as he deemed it not worth his attention.
The thought remained in one of the small crevices in his head, seemingly forgotten until one of the minister mentioned of a possible candidate for the second personal guard at your side. Like a sharp knife penetrated his heart, Jungkook felt dissapointed when you did not do anything but a âneeding more time to think about itâ comment. On your way back to your office, you asked Jungkook a question that suprised him. But of course, he honestly answered your question and before he knew it, he witness your direct rejection of the ministerâs offer.
â Truthfully, I do not think it is necessary to have another by your side. He would just only hinder you. I doubt that he would even be able to protect you when anything unexpected comes up. I-I also have a feeling that the minister is planning something, and I donât trust him.â
As a result, whenever Jin sees you be intimate with just anyone, the merchant made sure to lecture you on your guysâ next meeting. Complaining how youâre too open and that anyone could presume the wrong idea about your intentions. He would then show you all the âsaferâ positions, purposely doing it in front of the servants for the to go gossip about your intimate relationship. Seokjin made sure to make some of them extra touchy to rile up the entire harem.
â You are a nationâs ruler but why are you so naive! They may be your consorts but what would others think when you gets touchy with each other? No! You have to do this, raise you hand higher, straighten your back...â
Park Jimin
Jimin, your lusty and flirty consort is bound to get jealous when he sees his person get smothered from someone else. Contrary to what people would envision his jealousy would be, it would depends on how âsevereâ it is â as Jimin likes to say. With how he is trained, his vulnerable self-esteem would be blown away if he witness some things that caught him off his guard. Especially, with Taehyung, who he can somewhat resonate with, it will be a journey for him to not withdraw and go talk to you.
Anyways, it was one of those nights where you and Taehyung were cuddling in bed when Jimin came in, excited for your guysâ night together. However, his smile turned upside down when he saw the pile you both had accumulated on the bed. Knowing that it was his time to exit, Taehyung left the room and the two of you were left in an awkward tension. Jimin, who was crossing his arm, eyes not daring to meet with yours, lips jutted out forming a pout, remaining in his original spot. Y/N, despite how tired they are, dragged Jimin to their bed and let him sulk for however long. Letâs say that it was less than what he would admit, before he snuggled into Y/Nâs warmth and went to sleep also.
