today i'm thinking about how cotton got home after everything that happened. like, frost queen easily could have magicked her back, but... cotton had to travel hundreds of miles away, the furthest from home she'd probably ever been, had a near-death experience, held her dead friend in her arms, (who, bee tee dubs, got 'tricked ya!' by death and then immediately had that hope ripped away), learned the secrets of the universe- and then what? the story cuts off at frost queens disappearance. cotton just had to brush herself off and turn around. time to go home.

maybe go pass through your perfect park and pause on a sunday by the cool blue triangular water and the soft green elliptical grass as you pass through arrangements of shadows towards the verticals of trees forever by the blue purple yellow red water and the green orange violet mass of the grass in a perfect park made of flecks of light. and dark. and parasols. and maybe you'll feel better.
