Traveler's Backpack

This is the only "true" mod I have in this world, in that it actually adds some new items and functionality that is not in vanilla Minecraft. I actually haven't used this particular backpack mod outside of this world. The one I usually used, Sophisticated Backpacks, was not available for Fabric.

(As a sidenote, I don't really remember why I decided to use Fabric instead of Forge this time. I think I was just feeling upset about my previous world being Forge and wanted to try something else.)

I was pretty torn about adding an actual mod to this world, but I really wanted a backpack mod. If you've watched my video(s), you've seen how huge The Pit is, and it's a big hassle going all the way up and down just to unload my inventory. And, Traveler's Backpack also comes with sleeping bags which allow you to sleep the night away without resetting your spawn point. I didn't even realize that was a feature before adding this to my game.

The most important thing though, is that I tested what happened if I got rid of this mod, and it doesn't seem to break the world. All the backpacks just disappear. As far as I can tell, the people who make Traveler's Backpack keep it pretty up to date frequently, but in the event that they stop upkeeping the mod, I think I will be safe to just get rid of it.

Sodium + Iris Shaders + LambDynamicLights

Basically just the modern version of Optifine. I added the extra thing to have dynamic lights because it didn't have them on their own and I like that feature a lot.

I use Complementary Shaders like most people do lol. But I keep it on relatively simple settings and really cut down on the fog because it bothers my eyes.

Jade

This is the mod where if you hover over something it tells you what it is. This is particularly useful for farms and breeding, because it gives you some additional information.

For example, if you just bred two cows, you can hover your mouse over one of the cows and it will show the timer of how many minutes are left before you can breed it again. And for crops, it will tell you what percent grown it is, which I appreciate because sometimes I have a hard time telling if something like potatoes are fully grown or not.

JourneyMap

This adds a little minimap to the corner of your screen (which I had hidden/turned off in the video I've shared so far). It also tells you what time it is in game, what your coordinates are, and what biome you're in. It also has a feature to make waypoints, but I never really use that feature because I hardly move.

I really appreciate the coordinates (mainly for checking my Y level) and time features though. And being able to open the map and see what an aerial view of my base looks like is really cool too.

I'll probably make proper minecraft maps for decoration eventually, but I find this mod more practical for general use.

Just Enough Items

This basically allows you to look at a list of all the items in the game, and see the recipe to make them if it has one. It's just kind of like an easier to access recipe book. I'm very forgetful so I appreciate being able to look things up quickly and easily.

Resource Packs

Fresh Animations

This just makes mods a little more fun and interesting to look at. I particularly like the animations it gives to pets. Rather than leaving my cats sitting around motionless, they now stretch and curl up and blink and more. And they aren't all synchronized either so it's much nicer to see a bunch of them together.

Diversify

This one is not actually active right now. Unfortunately it seems like it cannot work at the same time as Fresh Animations. But, I'm hoping eventually they will both work together.

Basically, this mod adds different skin tones for villagers, and I just found that nice. Helps make them feel a little more unique and interesting. But, since Fresh Animations has a lot more features than Diversify, I'm allowing it to be in control for now.

Classic Baby Mob Eyes

I really hated the new dot eyes that the Tiny Takeover update added to the new baby models. I think the classic crossed eyes with scleras are so cute. So, this resource pack basically just does that. It more or less leaves the new baby models the same, it just gives them those classic Minecraft eyes, and they look so much cuter.
