Itās Toy Time Tuesday! With...Lala Loopsy Mini Ponies! Lalaloopsy started off as a brand of plastic dolls that were molded to look likeĀ ārag dollsā with details like sculpted yarn hair,Ā ābuttonā eyes, and stitching as visible 3D textures. Of course, doll lines tend to lead to horses or ponies at some point in the run and Lalaloopsy was no different. During the time of Toys R Us still being active, they released theĀ āmini poniesā. These are a little larger than the blindbag G4s, and were NOT blind-bagged. These were sold inĀ ācarouselsā--like the packaging was called that, and each carousel was a different number. The ponies themselves sadly never got names (which is too bad). There were 3 per carousel, so you had to remember which number you already had when going to the store to buy another set of them. There were also 2 carousels of glitter-only ones and mysteriously a pair of Christmas ones which are now rare. This is unlikely to be 3 from the same carousel. (It doesnāt seem well documented who went with who on the line) Whatās fun about these is that they LOOK like characters. There are so many details to take in, you could easily imagine them as entertaining little characters with lots of personality.Ā The unicorn has fabric strap hair, the pegasus has twisted rope & the orange one has braided yarn. The pegasus wings are held on by buttons, and the back leg of orange has polka-dot texture. The painted detail can vary even on the same mold. The twine bracelet is painted in this instance, while the lace cuff/bow is not. Look at all the tinyĀ āstitchesā everywhere and various fabric textures. The hair flower is bundled cloth.Ā How pony-like or horse-like are they? THAT is an interesting question. Despite the simplicity of the faces, the eyes are in the right place (on the sides of the head) and the ears are correctly on top. The back of head/neck join is smooth not bulbous, and the legs are long. No one was trying to make dogs of them (way too common) or make them into human dolls. They come across as more horsey than youād expect, which is very nice/refreshing. Itās in the details! They do have super tiny nostrils, but no mouth, but theĀ āno mouthā was also common on the line because of simplicity/so it fits in. They captureĀ ārag dollyā but alsoĀ āits a pony/horseā ANDĀ ālots of characterā all into a tiny package. Itās very interesting how they managed to pull all that off on tiny inexpensive toys. DO collect these if you see them and like them. There are a good amount, with interesting lessons so another TTT may have these on there despite technically notĀ āhorsesā.

Basic Fun has listed an upcoming set of miniature ponies on Amazon! They will likely be available in September 2023. Based on the ponies in the first MLP special, Rescue at Midnight Castle.
Itās Thursday... Time for a random meme! I was taking pictures for a TTT of the Lala Loopsy mini ponies and this one just...stood out. Theyāre rather silly looking from the front but it looks like they are all stepping forward in a determined way. Something about it just saidĀ āmemeā, and so, even if it is not that useful, here it is.
