Are you a Gold Star lesbian? (Just in case you don't know what it means, a Gold Star lesbian is a lesbian that has never had the sex with a guy and would never have any intentions of ever doing so)
God what is this, 2014? Grow up and educate yourself
That feel when your place of work is actually putting in more of an effort to make you feel more comfortable with your pronouns and gender identity than your parents are.
Super cool. Not really surprising.
I swear to god, truly supportive and loving parents in fiction literally want to make me cry every fucking time. Like. I can't handle it. I don't care if I'm illegally listening to a podcast at work, I'll just start tearing up in the sporting goods aisle and I'll openly admit to that.
Almost having an anxiety attack at work due to my lack of top surgery:

hey, did you know that you're awesome?
Hey thanks, friendo! I bet you're pretty awesome too!
I caved into the gender fuckery. I'm now officially identifying as nonbinary with they/them pronouns. I updated my bio too.
It's a nice feeling to finally be in the right place, so to speak, to start trying this. We'll see how it goes.
I'm weirdly excited. ππ
I had a whole post about getting my binder yesterday and it was supposed to be this good, exciting thing but the post just turned introspective and pathetic and sounding too much like I was asking for pity. I don't want to be that person.
Still, I thought it was important to mention for record's sake, I guess, so there you go. I got my first binder. It fits well. It's a cool color. I wore it to work today and the world didn't end.
It's funny I'm putting importance in chronicling something I don't even have a name for. I don't even know who I'm chronicling this for. Me, I guess? If I ever look back at these posts?
Regardless. The real thing this post is about, is the fact that as a way of beating myself up earlier (reasons not connected or important), I told myself to "just grow up and be a big girl."
The wording was instinctual but it stood out to me as soon as I thought it. Because then I repeated it over and over, intending to bring myself down in two ways: implying I was being childish and implying that I was a girl.
I don't know how to process this new kind of self-punishment.
Does anyone else misgender themselves as a way to "hurt" yourself? I don't even know if I could call that misgendering if I haven't committed to not being cis yet.
I just feel dumb and shapeless and still not sure if I'm making all this up.
Fuck, I wrote another post that makes me sound pathetic.
