Now for the Miner 49er: - In the heat of the gold rush of 1849, a kindly gentleman and his wife of 12 years moved into the area as like everyone else, they were in search of gold. He worked through the long hours of the day every day in the mines. Folks said he worked the hardest out of anyone there. As the old miner was finishing up for the day, he stumbled upon a nicely sized gold nugget. He dared not tell anyone of his discovery, other than his wife of course. Saying that she was thrilled would be an understatement. Every other day he returned to the spot where he found the gold. There he'd find more. The gold led him down deeper and deeper into the mines. He stayed longer and longer. Some days he'd not return at all. As the gold rush died down, the old miner kept going. Slowly withering away from exhaustion and lack of food and water. One night when he returned home, he snapped at his wife and left her and returned to the mines. Loudly proclaiming the gold as his right and that it be all he'd ever need. Heartbroken, she packed up and left him the following day. He didn't care. As long as he had his gold he'd be happy. Anyone who cared come close to the mines, he'd chase them off, swinging his pick axe. He did this till the end of his days. Gold was always on his mind. Neglecting his own  health to remain in the mines to guard his gold. Leaving him forever trapped in those dark, cold and empty tunnels. He didn't care, all he needed was his gold. It was his gold and his alone. After his death, his spirit lingered on. Continuing to protect his gold from outsiders. As the days turned into weeks, weeks into months, months into years, he was no longer the same man he once was when he was alive. In fact, he didn't even seem human at all. More like a ratty golem-like creature than anything. When the old mining town was opened up again in the present day, this did not sit well with the ghost miner. He terrorized the people living in the town nonstop. These encounters w/ the miner were often violent. Needing help, Mystery Inc was called in to handle the situation. By the end, Mystery Inc had managed to calm down the spirit (after doing their research and a great deal of sleuthing on his identity and history) by luring him to his old abandoned home, showing him a picture of his beloved wife. Suddenly, the ghost miner was snapped out of his gold obsessed trance for a moment as memories of his wife flooded back to him. Happiness soon turned to sadness when the spirit realized that his obsession with the home had driven her away. With his head finally cleared, he was ready to move on and to hopefully see his wife again in the afterlife. Mystery Inc bid him a farewell as his spirit was finally able to rest. With that over, the gang packed up and left. Moving on themselves to their next mystery to solve. "Scooby Doo: New & Groovy" art belongs to me (ArtMakerProductions).
