Could you tell me if this is in bad taste for a LotR oc? I'm fairly new to this fandom, but I wanted to give it a shot.... An orphaned elf child was found by a group of rangers and was raised by them. Because of her lifespan, she continued to live through the generations of rangers in that particular group. And because she was raised by humans, she doesn't know much about or care for elven culture. And I believe she will be a thief/ranger mix. Would you say she's passable?
I mean it's definitely possible, but it raises a lot of questions to consider when you write this.
Why was she orphaned? How did rangers find her? How did the baby survive long enough to be found? How does outliving her caretakers affect her? Why does she not care about elf culture? Is she curious about elves (in a Tarzan sort of way)? How does she cope with not "fitting in"? Where does she live?
Just keep those questions in mind when writing and your OC should be fine :)
