also glad we got more Niran lore! I have been so interested in the way he relates to being Wu since ep 1 and having Fei and meeting the council, seeing how Niran reacts to them and them to him had left me with so many questions.
We know now that Niran had been sidelined from the Wu community because he refused to simply get rid of all the demons. He asked questions. He asked why the demons where formed, what caused them, what would change if they were vanquished. Questions that might have undone centuries of traditions and ways of being Wu.
He essentially asks, "are all yao bad?" It also explains his willingness to help Pete. He sees the humanity in everything, and he recognizes that yao might just be another facet born of human choice, as natural as the forces of nature.
