16 years ago she came into my life. Today one of the hardest days because I had to say goodbye. Not even a month has passed since her health rapidly deteriorated. From the energetic chaotic good dog she was to these days when she was unable to walk, lost her sight, hearing and smell, being restless and losing weight too fast (her ideal weight is 7-12kgs, she was 3.2 Kg today at the vet). It broke me watching her like that and there was nothing we could do since her kidneys were not working and she developed an infection that prevented her from eating or drinking water properly. We decided to put her to sleep and I hope she felt safe and comfortable in her last moments. I think it was the right thing to do, but still feel so guilty because I was clinging to the idea that we could have done more.
