He changed a bit since then (but always for the better ;))

In the Blake & Mortimer universe, he's a plasma physicist who contributed to the conception of the first Tokamaks. He met Miloch at the university and they became very close friends (in their own way :]). Their paths diverged shortly after completing their higher education but they kept in touch with each other. Later, Dimitri moved to England to continue his research and develop technologies for accurately measuring the high temperatures of plasmas. It was at a physics conference that he met the famous inventor of the Swordfish: Professor Mortimer. He continued to exchange letters with Miloch until the day he stopped receiving replies to his letters (this would correspond to the time when Miloch was isolated from the world during the S.O.S Meteor affair, being forbidden to contact the outside world).
