đđđđđđđđđ đđ đđđđđđđ'đ đđđđđđđđ, she appears before you in corporeal form. penchant life bleeds into mortal's complexation, her emerald eyes thriving in a life completely her own. unburdened by yester-years prophets and mystery, she is once again as carefree as ever. irresponsible to the bone, yet endearing all the same. perhaps there is some truth to the claim that ignorance was a bliss, but one has to wonder : what was it that pained her so much to begin with ? those answers are now lost in the world, no doubt buried soundly in the depths of her soul. perplex brows now rises in her newfound conundrum, she pouts softly before turning her attention back to you. her finger pointing at the magician's reflection of a life-size cut out. â she looks like me, â she boldly claims with a minor huff, â it's almost scary how much i look like the dark magician girl. â // @millenniumpharaoh

BAKURA IS FURIOUS AND BRISTLING,  standing in the shadow of a towering, jackal-headed god.   â   anpu,   â   he growls between the press of his teeth â because, of course, the gods choose to so graciously bless him with their presence... three thousand years too late.   â   are âââ you!   â   a question forms on the tip of his tongue, but dies when bakura spots him.   â   care to explain this, pharaoh?   â   he hisses, nails piercing skin when he yanks their god-king into himself.
  @millenniumpharaoh   /   gods, have mercy on me.

ă THE VAMPIRE DIARIES PROMPTS ă  ||  @millenniumpharaoh
   Only weeks ago such words would have been met with MOCKERY, if not a healthy dose of cynicism. Perhaps words intended to ridicule his rival for such an open display of sickly sentimentality would have been spoken in response then, to be followed by that cynic kind of laughter which had become his recurrent trademark during their duels. Even now, true to his usual disposition, he felt if only slightly inclined to formulating a response DRENCHED in sarcasm. Truth be told, it wasnât like he knew how else to react. Any attempt to walk away from that comfort zone heâd so stubbornly built for himself left a taste of humiliating awkwardness in his mind.
   And yet, not a word escaped from lips which remained tightly shut for another moment, as though purposely trapping whichever automatic answer rationality had conjured. Instead, his gaze remained fixed upon an undetermined point far ahead; away from the eyes which surely ( he could FEEL it ) were staring at him in a sort of pensive silence. There was a certain flame within Atemâs eyes nowadays that elicited the strangest reactions within him, often so impossible to ignore. A flame which had known no name before, but that now he had âalbeit tentativelyâ come to recognize, despite being a stranger to its very concept. Â
              âââââââââ Affection?
   â   I was away for a month, not an entire year. Donât get so sentimental.  â   Ah, but old habits die hard. It wouldnât be him if at least a small glimpse of his usual self did not show itself even in these unlikely moments. It provided a respite from these unfamiliar emotions Atemâs very presence forced upon him. Some of which he had yet to accept in their entirety. Refused to, even. There was yet stubbornness within him, amidst the fire his rival had spread so harshly.
   â  Iâve beenâ- immersed in a new project.  A time-consuming one.  Perhaps my most ambitious one yet.  â   He was careful to reveal no more than what words conveyed. There was a deeper complexity behind this new AMBITION of his; a powerful drive so familiar and yet so very foreign.  â  A certain predicament of ours has become increasingly bothersome.  So Iâve taken it upon myself to ensure it doesnât remain that way for much longer.  â   The words were handpicked one by one. He was threading into uncharted territory now; had been doing just that for a while and the cause of it all was the very man who stood beside him. And yet he remained impassive, gaze firmly focused on the dull view of sand and pyramids which had once attempted to appear impressive; and had seemed so for only one timeâ that very first time he stood in that same balcony. But heâd easily come to dislike this world; to harbor a sort of DISDAIN for it. Quiet. Unchanging. Dead. With naught to offer but the man who stood beside him. Enough for him to keep coming back, over and over again. And yet, this little cycle had swiftly become one he deemed unnecessary. Oh, he wasnât about to let Atem go. He had learned from past experiences that even trying was an impossible task. Albeit shameful, he had ceased to deny what was blatantly obvious. He needed Atem. Â
   But he was an ambitious manââââââââââ-   and he wanted more. Â
   â   Iâve successfully completed any and all projects Iâve set my mind to achieve;  no matter how implausible anyone believed them to be when first conceived.  Therefore Iâm sure you realize I will stop at nothing this time,  as usual.  â  There was no way to properly introduce what he was about to reveal, not really. And he wasnât inclined to guessing what sort of reaction he would get from his rival. He was DETERMINED, however. Surely Atem knew him enough to guess that much. Â
   He would not avoid the otherâs gaze for another second, eyes swiftly moving to search for Atemâs. And though he endeavored to conceal any sign of emotion within his blue gaze, his rival would âmost likelyâ see that powerful sense of determination which had submerged him into this new project he spoke of. The very same which had kept him from making the exhausting journey to the dimension where the Pharaohâs soul remained. Now, he wasnât about to get as sentimental as his rivalâ- but itâd be a lie to say that he had not been⌠restless these last weeks, without Atemâs presence. Perhaps even more than restless. Yet, he knew that the possible benefits of him succeeding in his latest endeavor exceeded the costs of spending long periods of time away. By far.
   His next action was nearly automatic; a hand reaching out until long fingers grazed Atemâs cheek.  The first time he had touched his rival in such a way, heâd been seeking proof that Atem was really there; not a mere product of imagination or a holographic projection. Ever since, it became a habit of sorts. And one Atem himself seemed to enjoy. Because it wasnât like he hadnât noticed certain subtletiesâ the way his rival would move his head only slightly to press his cheek against his hand,  as though longing to prolong the rare contact between them. And yet, as fingers moved in a silent inspection that could almost pass for an intimate caress, he came to the same conclusion like many times before.  Sure enough, Atem was there; and the skin beneath his fingers was more solid than a hologram. But not quite real. Not quite physical.
   Never had he been one to enjoy touching another; not even in the most innocent or formal of ways. And yet, it PUZZLED himâ- why he so deeply longed to feel Atemâs flesh beneath his fingers.
   â  Iâm working on finding a way to bring you back.  â  The words left his lips easily, eyes refusing to leave the ones of his rival. If his tone was not a clue as to how serious he was, then his expression conveyed it perfectly. He neednât explain it further. The CEO was almost sure that Atem knew exactly what he meant with bringing him back. Â
   To the world of the living. Â
   His world.  Â
   â  You donât belong here.  â  You belong with me. He meant to say, and he almost did; the words almost touching his lips before being abruptly silenced. It was a confession that, perhaps, he was not yet prepared to make.
