Okay, so. . .
Long winded jaspidwen musings under the cut.
Okay, so Jasper and David have been dating the longest, since, like their ninth grade year. They're super happy with each other, but their also super experimental in their sex lives and often bring other people in.
But David's really good at building soul ties, so he gets his heart bruised a lot. Jasper is always there patching him up, so it's not usually too awful.
The year that Gwen begins as a camp counselor is the year before most of our campers arrive. And David is starstruck, and starts telling Jasper all this amazing stuff about her, stuff he's still way too scared to tell her. Jasper starts trying to build his confidence, because he is super interested in this girl from what he can tell, but he abandons it for a while. Gwen and both know it's there, and they aren't against a handful of one night stands, but that is what it is. An ease of sexual tension.
So David loves for his partners to be stronger than him, in some capacity, that being physical, emotional, or mental. And Bonquisha is the pinicle if this little kink. And their q relationship is rather nice, but she was not looking to be the power holder, and got along terribly with Jasper. He didn't like her at all because he thought she had a huge ego he couldn't get over.
So they break up and David finally has to face it. What really helped him was Gwen. They sit down and talk for almost an entire night about it. They start having little dates. Jasper is super excited to meet Gwen, but the feeling is not mutual. Gwen is trying to make a mental checklist of what Jasper seems to like and not like, cause she needs this too much to screw it up.
Gwen has been in a series of short flings and shitty relationships throughout college. Some have been abusive, and others were just very unappreciative of her goals and dreams. She hasn't had a fufilling relationship ever, and she has fallen head over heels in love with David. She loves his timidity and his passion. She's never met anyone so raw, so needy, so protective, all rolled into one. And after David's endless stories about Jasper, she wants it to work. She wants to fall in love and get caught. She just wants someone to catch her.
They meet at the house of a reckless frat boy drop out and and have a really nice time. Jasper walks in with David, holding his hand and blushing and super giddy. He sees Gwen, and his jaw hits the floor. He finally understands why the hell David has been so smitten with her. He sees this fire in her eye, confidence in her stance, and yet, the same nervous smile he knew he wore, too. And Jasper found himself falling in love at a glance. More like a stare, he starts blushing when he realizes he's staring.
Several dates go well after that, and so by the time Max's first summer is over, Gwen sleeps over with David and Jasper for the first time.
It's a little abandoned two tenant apartment in the middle of the woods. Jasper and David basically rebuilt it and filled with plants and bright colors.
Gwen starts sleeping at their house more than her own. They learn each other's little quirks. Jasper is David's reason, and David is the unabashed optimism. Gwen begins to fit as a the moon. Calming and poetic, always welcome, and never overstayed. They unwind to David's guitar, and on rare occasions, Gwen's voice. Jasper's arms cradle them into sleep, and Gwen's presence brings a balance that took years to find.
The next summer, Jasper also signs up as a counselor, because why the hell not. The summers were always a pain in the ass for Jasper. That was when he had a lot of his flings just because he didn't have anyone around.
The summer goes like it does at Camp Campbell until the parents come to get their children. Max's dad threatens violence against him. Gwen records it, David confronts the man, and Jasper runs out to back up David.
Max stays with them, enters the foster care system, and is a adopted by Jasper chiefly, because he has a full-time job and the house is in his name.
Not long after, Gwen finds out she's pregnant. They're really nervous, and abortion is a legitimate option because Gwen has been through a failed pregnancy before. And she doesn't want to go through that again. But after long talks and a lot time, she agrees to go through with her pregnancy.
In the fall, they are rewarded with a pretty baby girl they name Harper Beatrice. She is David’s biological child but is the apple of both of her fathers’ eyes. A few years later they have a son, Nathan Parker.
Max is Harper’s protective older brother, and will kill anyone who even thinks their going to hurt her. She sits in David’s lap and learns guitar there, and Jasper tells her stories from history to put her to sleep. Gwen just pours all the love she didn’t get from her mother on her daughter, because she will always deserve better than she did.Â
