Love your blog! Just out of curiosity- Are there any Harry Potter characters that you think J.K. Rowling sorted in the wrong house? Personally, I don't think that Hufflepuffs/Ravenclaws were represented as much as they should have. -A Hufflepuff
The Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws were very underrepresented but I think its shortsighted to say that JK Rowling sorted anyone into the wrong house. As the author, her ideas developed the universe and her words dictated its parameters. I'm sure there are lots of characters that people might see as being in "the wrong house" but JK Rowling wouldn't have just dropped characters wherever for no reason. If we don't have enough canon proof to justify someone's location, its because either they aren't important enough of a character and wouldn't really have an affect on the story line (like background Hufflepuffs that had like one line one time or something) or because she couldn't fit it into the story without adding extra-seemingly unnecessary bulk, which is basically what she is using Pottermore for. Its a way for her to share information she developed into ideas, but never managed to shove into her already full story lines.
As for the under representation, its very clear that both Harry and Draco's stories were important to her. They were the students whose stories she was telling, thus, logically, the other houses sort of fell by the way side. I think that would have happened if she had 3 or even 30 houses. Gryffindor and Slytherin would have become the forefront of the story and all the others would have falen by the wayside. 2 boys with pre-determined destinies but very different lives leading up to the climactic moment, and how those lives lead them down different paths.
