this is my new michael fanfic and it would be awesome if you checked it out ok ily
She wanted to leave as soon as possible, and never even look back. She never wanted to go back to this place ever again, she was finally free and she could finally live independently. It's what she wished ever since she graduated primary school - she knew what she wanted, and she wanted to move out of her mother's house and live in another country to start fresh.
She had just graduated high school, and as soon as she received her diploma, she had told her mother all about her plans of moving to Australia, where she's wanted to go since she was a child.
Her father used to tell her stories about his adventures in Sydney when she was a child, and ever since then, she swore that she would get up and live there when she was old enough.
She took a deep breath, fumbling with the buttons on her shirt as she waited patiently for her plane to be called. Today was the day she was going to set off to Australia, she already contacted the landlord of the apartment she was going to live in, and everything was set.
The first thing she needed to do when she arrived was to find a job that could pay off her rent. Her mother agreed to pay for the first month, but she was the one to pay for the next ones. She was thankful that her mother had allowed her to go, although she still felt a little guilty about leaving her behind.
Her mother hasn't really been the same ever since her husband died a few years ago. Her mother had no one left, but because she loved her too much, she was okay with her moving thousands of miles away. If it was for her child, then it was okay.
"Are you sure you're going to be okay by yourself?" The black haired girl looked up from her shirt, biting down on her bottom lip nervously. It was her first time flying on her own, and the flight to Sydney was going to take at least five hours.
"Mother, I'm eighteen. I think I can handle this," she replied, surprised at how confident she sounded. She was obviously the complete opposite of confident, she felt like puking due to all the anxiety she felt.
Her mother heaved out a sigh, a small smile plastered on her lips as she stroked her daughter's hair. "I'm going to miss you, Silvia," her mother says, her soft tone made her want to burst into tears.
The only thing she would miss about this place was her mother, she was her best friend and the only person she ever cared about besides her father. Silvia absolutely hated this place, she grew up without friends because no one wanted to talk to her. She preferred the company of a good book to the company of a living, breathing human being who just complained about their lives anyways. She was also used to being in the sidelines, and in a way, she was glad that she never got attached to anyone. It made it so much easier for her to leave without anyone else holding her back.
"I'll miss you too," she squeaked, trying not to let the tears fall. Her flight was finally called, and she shut her eyes, knowing that the goodbye would be painful.
She stood up, facing her mother, who already had tears running down her face. Silvia wiped her mother's tears with her thumbs, smiling at her as she enveloped her in one last hug. She closed her eyes, taking in as much of her mother's warmth as possible, enough warmth to last her for about a few years.
They both stood there, in each other's arms, not saying a single word. Silvia wanted to stay like that forever, but all good moments must come to an end. The last call for the flight sounded, and she finally mustered up the courage to pull away from her mother. She bid goodbye with tears in her eyes, before grabbing her luggage, walking past everyone to finally board her flight to Australia.

Camera flashes as far as the eye could see, several people trying to call their names to get their attention, fans squealing left and right, reporters asking questions that weren't aimed towards anyone in particular. This was what they had to go through, every single time they left and arrived in a new place.
People kept pushing one another, just to take a glance at the four boys who were exiting the airport along with security. The boys have flown all the way from Los Angeles to Australia, and all of them were beyond exhausted, but stopping for a few photos with the fans was never a big deal for them.
Well, it isn't a big deal for them - except for a certain dark haired lad who acted as if the world revolved around him. He acted as if everything was about him, and thinks that he's better than everyone else just because he's Michael Clifford.
The fans started chanting their names, and the three boys smiled, walking over to the group of fans who had started bouncing up and down. They were all excited to finally see and meet the band, after so many hours of waiting for them in the airport.
The blonde one greeted the fans with a huge smile, taking the photos and albums from the fans, signing them as they engaged in conversation. They mostly consisted of hello's, asking the boys about their flight and asking them if they could follow them on twitter.
The dark haired boy bounced over to where the fans were, and they started to scream when he was in front of them. He took photos with them with various poses, he loved it when the fans asked for peculiar photos. He preferred weird photos with fans rather than formal ones, it shows how close they really are with their fans.
Finally, the dark blonde haired boy giggled when the fans started complimenting him on his choice of wardrobe. He had a black fedora perched on the top of his curly head, a black Pink Floyd singlet that hung off his figure, a red and black flannel wrapped around his waist, his signature black skinny jeans and some black chucks. He recorded a video with a fan, and even went to draw a little butterfly for a fan who wanted to get it tattooed on her arm.
The last boy didn't even bother approaching the fans. He was insanely tired, and he wished to finally get back home and sleep until the wee hours of the morning. Who wouldn't be exhausted after a twenty hour flight - and to make matter worst, Michael had to sit next to the chirpy curly haired boy, who constantly giggled and talked to him all about Dragonball Z.
Michael just rushed past the three boys who were still distracted by the fans, and went straight into the black van that was to take them to their respective homes. He leaned back into the chair, sighing as he watched the three boys entertain the horde of fangirls.
He shut his eyes, tuning out the sound of the squeals of the teenage girls and waited for the three boys to finish talking to the fans.
The three boys were already used to this kind of attitude with Michael, he always puts himself first nowadays and wouldn't even bother waving nor acknowleding the fans. He would come out occasionally and say hello, maybe even sign a few stuff but that's only when he finds someone in the group of fans hot.
Finally, the security began to usher the three boys into the van, so they began to bid the fans goodbye with sad smiles. Nothing made them happier than talking and meeting the people who made their dreams come true. The boys started piling in the van, the blonde haired boy taking the vacant seat next to Michael. The black haired boy sat across Michael, while the dark blonde one sat across the blonde one.
"That was a really dick move, Michael," The curly haired boy, Ashton, turned to the dark haired boy who was looking out the window with a bored expression on his face.
Michael scoffed, his lips curling into a smirk that seemed to be permanently etched on his pale face. "But you guys handled the fans so well, I think that went pretty good. You didn't need me out there at all."
The black haired boy glared at his best friend, hitting him on the thigh which caused the pale boy to let out a little sound. "What did you do that for, Calum?" Michael ran his fingers through his dyed black and red hair, scowling at the tanned boy who folded his arms across his chest.
"Shut up, Michael. Leaving us out there with the fans was really rude, some of them waited hours just to meet us and then you just blow them off," Calum said. Michael didn't really understand what the big deal was, the fans saw him and they met the rest of the band, he would assume that that was already enough for them.
"But they already met you!" Michael argued back, he didn't really want to get into an argument with these boys because all he wanted to do now was sleep. He didn't like that they're getting up in his grill just because he didn't meet the fans, he's done that for so many times now but they haven't complained about that until now.
The blonde one rolled his eyes, shaking his head at his best friend. "Seriously, Michael? Some of them wanted to see you specifically, because they're Michael girls. They're your girls, man. Blowing them off would just hurt their feelings, they exerted so much effort just to come see us and you don't even bother giving them a second glance!" Luke was sick of Michael's shit, just like the rest of the band.
They let this slide a few times now, but now they're regretting their decision. Since they didn't really do anything about it when it started to happen, Michael thought that it was already okay for him to stop meeting fans altogether just because the other boys were there to entertain them. They should have just told him off the first time he did this.
"I'm tired, cut me some slack, dammit!" Michael was getting pissed now, he was absolutely exhausted which made him crankier than he usually was, and the fact that the boys are getting so worked up about something so small just angered him.
Luke's eyebrows met in confusion, not wanting this to get physical because he knew they would all regret this later. He sent the two other boys a look, and they understood what Luke wanted to do. The blonde boy just patted his shoulder, sending him a small smile. "Yeah, um.. Just get some rest, we'll talk about this another time."
Michael just groaned, as he didn't really wanna talk about this matter with them again. He just wanted the boys to stop bothering him about what he does, they don't own him so they have no right to tell him what he should and shouldn't do. But hey, if this got them to shut up about this whole thing, that was okay with him.
The van then started to move, the noise from all the people shouting after them fading in the distance as they began their drive back home to their houses. It was gonna take at least an hour, so Michael took out his earphones and plugged them into his ears, then into his iPod. He chose his favorite A Day to Remember song on his playlist, then proceeded to lean his head against the window, his eyes fluttering closed.
He knew that the boys were talking about him, but he just pretended not to hear all the stuff they're saying about him. The boys were just worried about him - even if Michael has changed so much over the years, he was still their best friend and they still cared about him.Â
Calum took a deep breath, exhaling his breath as he glanced at his best friend. Of all the boys, he was the one Michael was closest with. Michael and Calum have known each other for twelve years, and they've been friends ever since they were children. "Do you think there's a chance of him changing back to the old Michael?"
Michael shifted, mumbling something incoherent before he stopped moving again. Ashton just shrugged, tugging on the sleeves of the flannel shirt that he tied around his waist. He honestly believed that Michael could change, he just needed motivation to bring his old self back. He didn't know how he was going to motivate Michael to change, and he was sure none of them knew either. "Maybe, we just have to find something that would make him wanna change."
Luke scratched the back of his head, trying to think of a perfectly good reason why he would want to change back into old Michael, but couldn't really get one at the moment. "We need to find whatever that is soon," he glances back towards Michael, who seemed like he was asleep - he was actually listening into their conversation, biting his tongue so as not to cut in. "I want old Michael back."

You never thought that he would end up something you needed, he was your best friend but then ended up meaning a whole lot more to you than he did before.
Based on Against the Current's song called Something You Need.
The worst thing about summer was the warm, summer heat that you had to overcome every single day. Since the AC was broken, you usually spent your days over at your best friendâs house instead, Calum didnât really mind that you chose to spend the day at his house.
Calum has been your best friend since your family decided to move to the suburbs of Sydney, a place unfamiliar to where you grew up in. You were just a mere child back then, you were actually the shy type of person â you tried to make friends with the kids in your new school but none of them talked to you.
Calum was your only friend, even if you only saw each other outside school. You became playmates and one thing led to another, you two grew up to be best friends and now you still are.
Sometimes, you would stay over for the night at Calumâs house simply because you get too lazy to get up and leave, plus it was comforting being in your best friendâs arms when you slept at night.
Tonight was one of those nights, you were enveloped by your best friendâs warmth, his arms wrapped securely around your body as you listened to him sing a soft lullaby into your ears. He sang your favorite Maroon 5 song in your ear softly, with you smiling every now and then when you felt his hot breath fan against your skin.
You loved it when Calum sang you to sleep, it was your favorite thing about sleeping over and the way he would graze his thumb on your skin every now and then was comforting, you donât feel any safer than being wrapped up in Calumâs arms.
You were slowly drifting off into a deep sleep, but not until you felt Calum curse under his breath right before you lost consciousness. âShit. I think I love you.â Your eyes opened at the sudden confession, jolting up into a sitting position, shocked about the words that had just left his lips.
âNow youâre scared but you donât know why. You keep running but thereâs nowhere to hide,â
Six days. Itâs been six days since Calum admitted to himself that he was in love with you. He just blurted it out without thinking, assuming that you were already asleep but not quite.
Calum kept apologizing over and over, swearing every now and then for just blurting that out of nowhere. You were taken aback by those words, slightly confused as you never thought that your best friend would fall for you, of all people.
You thought that this only happened in the movies â when a girl and guy are best friends for years, one of them was bound to fall for the other. You didnât believe in any of the movies, they werenât real after all and were just stories made up by people using their imagination.
Youâve never really thought of the possibility of Calum falling for you, and the possibility of you falling for Calum at all. Youâve never been attracted to Calum ever, but something might have changed after that day.
You found yourself thinking about him a lot more than usual, worrying about him as he never bothered to text nor call, and whenever you would come over their house to talk to him, he was out or he wouldnât let you in.
You wanted to talk to him about it, you wanted to discuss your feelings for one another but he just wouldnât let you. You were convinced that he was scared, although you werenât sure what he was so scared of. He shouldnât be afraid of you, you were as harmless as a fly and wouldnât bite at all.
You just donât understand why he keeps running away from the situation and away from you, but he couldnât run away from you forever. He was bound to run into you sooner or later, you were just right next door and he couldnât stay away from you long anyways.
âYou never thought Iâd ever be something you want, something you need. Uh, oh, we got lost in the summer heat, now you just canât get over me,â
About a week later, Calum finally showed up at your doorstep, apologizing profusely for the confession. Seeing him after such a long time of being apart made your heart drop, itâs been almost two weeks since you last saw him and youâve missed him so much.
You didnât know that it was possible to miss someone this much, youâve never felt this way about anyone before and this was definitely something new.
You instantly tackled him, jumping onto him as you wrapped your arms around his shoulders and your legs tied around his waist, burying your head into the crook of his neck. You inhaled his musky perfume, smiling in contentment when you realized that youâve grown so used to his smell as well.
You missed everything about him â his smile, his musky scent, his contagious laughter, the touch of his calloused fingers, the way his voice would crack every now and then whenever he talked, his little lisp that he keeps denying having, his deep brown eyes that would stare intently at you when you talked. You missed everything about your best friend, it honestly surprised you to know how much you missed him.
âI missed you,â you murmured into his shoulder, feeling him hug you back hesitantly. You melted into his embrace, and he relaxed after a few seconds.
âI missed you too,â he spoke softly, and you could feel your heart cry out in joy.
You missed hearing his voice, you were so used to hearing his voice everyday that not hearing his voice felt wrong somehow.
âIâm sorry about what I said two weeks ago, it just kinda occurred to me and I didnât mean to like, blurt it out like I did. I just-I didnât realize that you were awake and I was just thinking about how I felt about you. Honestly, I had no idea that you would end up meaning so much to me. Itâs so scary how much you mean to me, you just became something I wanted one day and I donât know â the feelings just kinda developed and you ended up becoming something I needed.â Calum rambled, making you giggle.
You wanted to hush him, but he just kept going. âIâm really sorry, I know I tried to stay away from you but I donât know, Iâm just scared of facing you again and I tried to get over you by staying away but I guess I just couldnât.â He continued on, and you just rolled your eyes, hushing him by placing your finger on his lips.
âShh, shut up and make me popcorn, weâre gonna have a movie marathon.â
âWeâll spend the night watching movies in the dark. Youâre playing bands Iâve never heard of, and I know you tend to always overthink but tonight itâs as simple as just kiss me,â
After about five hours of movies, you two were still at it and you were watching a movie youâve watched a thousand times. You were getting kinda sick of this, and you wanted to do something else but you were afraid that Calum might not want to.
You glanced at Calum from the corner of your eye, who was seated right beside you. He was staring straight ahead, at the TV screen with a rather bored expression on his face and you grinned, knowing that he was just as bored of this movie as you are.
âHey, wanna do something else?â You asked, causing him to look up at you with pursed lips.
His plump lips curled upwards, a smile lighting up his features as he nodded. You reached for the remote, turning the DVD player off, along with the TV and turned your body so that you were facing him completely.
You didnât know what you wanted to do, but you were completely fine with doing absolutely nothing if you were to spend time with your favorite person in the world.
âWant me to play you songs?â Calum asked, knowing how much you loved whenever he played for you.
Calum always played songs for you whenever you two were alone, he would play songs from your favorite artists, maybe even new mainstream songs that always get played on the radio or old songs back from the 80âs. His songs would vary, but you werenât complaining â you loved hearing Calum sing, especially if heâs singing for you.
You hopped off your bed, grabbing the acoustic guitar that Calum usually leaves here and handed it to him with a grin.
You felt weird butterflies erupt from the pit of your stomach when he smiled back at you, strumming on his guitar to test the sound of the guitar. You didnât feel this way around Calum before, something definitely changed that night and you were slowly falling for your best friend as well.
You watched as Calum looked up at you, strumming an unfamiliar tune on the guitar heâs played almost a hundred times.
âHold onto me, hold onto me. Donât you ever leave, donât you ever leave,â He started. He usually sang songs by bands that you donât know, you werenât into bands like he was but you had to admit that each and every song he would sing is great, heâs got great taste in music.
âI know Iâve got my problems and itâs probably me, so hold onto me, hold onto me,â Calumâs voice rang in your room, sending shivers down your spine. His voice was just beautiful, and the way he looked up at you every now and then just made your smile grow wider.
âStayed up too late and it hurts to breathe, said itâs 4AM, girl go back to sleep. Sometimes at night, I can hear her dreams,â he continued, his warm gaze sending your heart on overdrive.
âCome rescue me, come rescue me. Donât you ever leave, donât you ever leave,â You just kept watching his lips move as he sang every word with emotion, as if he was trying to sing it directly to you.
You didnât know why you had this sudden urge to press your lips against his, wanting to feel his lips move against your own and maybe even slip your tongue into his mouth.
âI know we got our problems and itâs probably me, so hold onto me, hold onto me.â Calum finished playing a few parts of whatever song he chose, placing his guitar down beside my nightstand with a huff.
His deep brown eyes scan over my face, a small pout on his pink lips, âThatâs one of my favorite Mayday Parade songs, itâs such a great song and I think that you should listen to that on Youtube.â
You just stared at him, your lips slightly parted as you continued watching his lips move, trying to resist pushing him down onto your bed and kissing him with all youâve got.
His eyebrows furrowed as you stared back at him, âI-is something wrong? Do you not like the song? Oh my god, Iâm so sorry, I should have asked what you wanted me to play-â He continued to ramble on and on, a habit of his that he couldnât get rid of even if he tried.
You wanted to shut him up so you did the one thing youâve wanted to do since he got here â you just kissed him.
âNow youâre scared but you donât know why. You keep running but thereâs nowhere to hide. Scared to care because then you lose, try and hide how you feel but I feel it, too,â
Calum was taken by surprise when you kissed him out of nowhere, he pulled away from you, breathing heavily as he ran his fingers through his hair, trying to register what just happened.
âNo, no, no,â he kept repeating, reaching up to touch his lips with his fingers.
âYou kissed me,â He said, his eyes widening when reality finally hit him. âYou kissed me. You actually kissed me,â You scoffed, rolling your eyes at your best friend.
âI-I canât kiss you, you shouldnât have kissed me like that. Best friends donât kiss each other.â He turned away from you, placing his feet on the floor as he buried his head in his hands.
âI shouldnât feel this way about you. I know that you donât feel the same way, so I tried my best to forget about how I felt during these past few weeks but I still canât get over you.â You scooted over, so that you were sat as close to him as possible, wrapping your arms around his waist as you rested your head on his shoulder.
âIâm scared. Iâm scared. I donât want to ruin everything between us and Iâm scared of caring about you too much when I know Iâm going to lose you someday.â
You nuzzled your head into his neck, smiling as you pressed a kiss onto his jaw. âDonât kiss me like that, it just confu-confuses me even more.â
You were practically throwing yourself at Calum, but he still refuses to acknowledge the fact that you actually felt the same way he does. You continued to pepper kisses along his jaw, feeling him tense up as your lips continued to kiss his skin softly.
âStop running away from me, Calum. I love you too, and thereâs nothing you can do to change how I feel about you.â
âTake all of your doubts and throw them away. Weâre falling tonight tell me that youâll stay, youâll stay,â
He peered at you from behind his shoulder, his deep brown eyes wide as his lips parted at your confession.
âY-you love me?â He asked, his lips tugging upwards slowly as it finally sunk in that you actually felt the same way about him.
He turned to you, taking your hands in his and kissed your knuckles gently, pulling you into his chest as he hugged you close to him.
âI-I canât believe this,â he mumbled, pressing a kiss on the top of your head. âYou have no idea how long Iâve wanted to hear you say this back to me.â
You looked up at him with a smile, pecking his lips for a short while. âThatâs right. Take all of your doubts and throw them away, Calum.â
He withdrew his arms from around you and smiled, catching your lips with his own, initiating the kiss this time.
You could feel the sparks explode inside your head, your heart pounding as your lips moved in sync with his. Your fingers found his hair, tugging at them as he smiled against your lips, his hands placed firmly on your hips as you continued to move your lips against his.
You pulled away slightly, breathing heavily with a smile plastered on your face and rested your forehead against his. âWeâre falling tonight, so tell me youâll stay.â âIâll stay,â he repeated, and his lips were on yours once more.
A few weeks ago, you wouldnât have thought that you would end up falling for your best friend â but love can be a funny thing. You could be best friends with a person one second, and in the next, you would find yourself seeing them in a different light, becoming something you need and couldnât last a moment without.
Love would creep up on you when you least expect it, and this is exactly what happened between you and Calum.
You never thought Calum would end up being something you wanted and needed, and you hoped that this wouldnât be a summer fling because you felt something deep about Calum and you genuinely loved him.
He was something you needed, and apparently, he feels the exact same way about you.Â
