Self-Indulgence

I know this has nothing to do with the blog, but I just really wanted to draw all of the animals that live in the house. (Don’t worry, I’ll hopefully have another drawing done soon <3)

(Also, I forgot to mention, some of them are what I think they’d look like if they had magic.........just because I can. That’s why Lucky has four leaf clovers all over him (they’re where his old man warts are XD))

K-ON

Each of the band members on this show is a sweet bean that needs to be protected. The relationships between some of them— with the friends and Yui and her sister— and the moments that they have together are so genuine and sweet most times. And the softness of the character’s edges make this show feel even more soft and wholesome.

The 90s Moomins

This show has chill and good vibes written all over it. From the daily moments of home and family life to the genuine interactions between the characters to the scenery to the adventures that the Moomins go on, this show helps me further see beauty in my own life and world. 😊

Cardcaptor Sakura

This show is similar to the last one I mentioned with wholesome, daily moments of home and family life. In addition, the relationships that Sakura has with her father, older brother, friends, Kero, and so on feel so genuine and sweet. And Sakura herself feels like a very sweet, hardworking, and caring character too, which makes me really enjoy her character.

Rilakkuma and Kaori

Made from small and soft felts, paper, and fabrics, Rilakkuma and Kaori is a very sweet, wholesome, and adorable show. My friend introduced it to me a while back and it’s very adorable—sweet daily slice of life home tasks, friendships between the characters, and all.

The Ghibli films My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, Whisper of the Heart, The Cat’s Return, Ponyo, and Kiki’s Delivery Service

Ghibli films are very popular and loved by many for its gorgeous scenery and lovable characters, and with the fact that many of its scenes of food and scenery are involved in many Calm Animated Scenes and Gifs, it deserves a spot on this list in my eyes. The ones I’ve mentioned are the calmest of the bunch with not very tense, saving-the-world conflicts but still have very good inspirational messages, lovable characters and nice interactions between them, relaxing moments, and amazing scenery.

Bee and Puppycat

With chill vibes, a sweet, caring and genuine main character, beautiful visuals, sweet relationships and interactions, as well as sweet, vulnerable ideas and messages about healthy and true friendships and dealing with grief, Bee and Puppycat is another sweet show to chill and unwind with.

How to Keep A Mummy

Although there are a few sad and dark bits here and there, How to Keep a Mummy—with its characters and their little myth beings, and their interactions with one another— has a lot of charm and adorable-ness to it that makes me feel a bit calm, relaxed, and joyful afterwards.

That’s all for now, but I hope you enjoyed this list. I might add more onto it in the future, but these are the few that I was able to think of right off the bat.

So here's the thing. This COVID-19 quarantine has got to be one of the craziest things that's happened in my 23 years of life (that I will vividly remember) and one of the BIGGEST things I will remember is the crippling loneliness, anxiety, and feeling of being trapped that so many of us are going through.  In order to try to help many like me I've created a discord server where we can talk, share, and watch anime with each other. I'd like to be here as much as I can for those of you who are feeling the weight of COVID-19 and its quarantine heavily, and try to offer some relief with anime. If you maybe don't have streaming sites to watch on, or subscriptions or even just maybe need some friends to watch with. Anyone can stream anime to watch with other people even if I'm not there. I just want a place for us to not feel so lonely
