Mitul lui Midas, ce transforma în aur orice atingea

Despre Midas, regele Frigiei, s-a spus că avea "o atingere de aur". Potrivit mitologiei grecești și celei romane, Silenius, un tovarăș al zeului Dionysus, s-a îmbătat pe când vizita Frigia. A fost capturat și dus la Midas, care a poruncit să fie eliberat și înapoiat în siguranță lui Dionysus. Recunoscător, zeul s-a oferit să-i îndeplinească lui Midas orice dorință, drept răsplată. Midas a cerut ca orice atingea să se transforme în aur. Știind că această dorință era periculoasă, Dionysus a întrebat regele dacă era sigur că asta voia. Midas l-a asigurat că așa era, iar zeul i-a îndeplinit dorința.

Azt írja az újság… hogy mit, az nem is olyan érdekes, mióta feltalálták a rádiót. Néhány napja, utazás közben egy régi izraeli dalt hallottam, ami arra késztetett, hogy ismét megszólaljak. Egy tipikus keleti dal volt, azaz jemeni-arab zenére írt bődületes férfi-soviniszta szöveg, többször ismételve, hogy a nő jól megértse. The institute of Archaeology had decided to try tumblr out. How will it work? We will try and give you all the updates, as much as we can, show you some great photos of our digs and finds, and hopefully you will find it interesting and decide to follow us. This going to be a very busy summer for us, as we have quite a few expeditions excavating this summer, some of them are digging right now in this unforgiving levantine heat.

Since this is a bit of a tryout, I do hope whoever somehow stumbles upon this entry, might be able to comment, ask questions, and tell us what interests you the most.

Let’s begin with a beautiful picture of one of those expeditions. Horvat Midras, in the Judaean foothills. A key site for the reconstruction of the history of the rural Jewish settlement during the Roman period. The excavations had just started a few days ago. Stay with us for updates as we go!
