I'm genuinely baffled at everyone's hatred for tjlc? Like people deliberately intrude on a community and either criticize inconsequential fan theories and predictions or actively belittle humans by asserting that they're either A) Being brainwashed, are incapable of critical thinking or B) Manipulative overlords plotting the demise of people interested in the show.

I mean this isn’t directly related to The Current Discourse, but an issue I have with the idea that we should “write our own representation” (rather than analyze the possible outcomes of a tv show based on subtext) is that we Do write our own representation. But when we do it, it’s immature fanfic, or brushed off as shipping gone wild. It’s not taken seriously. Partially because of their adamant insistence that tjlc is a cult, or a facist regime. They ridicule us and the things we do and then claim we’re blinded by what I think they interpret as like Stockholm syndrome for the creators when we think they might have (had) intentions to make johnlock canon. All the while they’re acting like any of this was done with the hopes that they’d like it. Tjlc isn’t for people who don’t like it? (Segue into The Current Discourse) Literally you’re not being forced to obsess over our blogs and interactions, let alone write half-assed “articles” on “geek-culture” about us or write pseudo-intellectual blog posts that boil down to being about how you dislike us. None of it has anything to do with you.
