Okay, Hypothetical:
Let's buy out and take a studio who made award-winning, first-person, story-driven, character-developing experiences
And force them to make a game that allowed them to focus on story, but start to lead them into multi-player first person shooter territory that didn't make much profit. Oops, C rating for you.
We'll follow that up with multi-player, gear & microtransaction based economy in game, with no plot to speak of and like no time to actually develop beyond assigning bought/generated assets to a set of actions.
How do you think said game studio will fare?
Seems to me that said parent studio is probably doing this setup on purpose to take out a smaller, higher performing, competitor.
Seems to me that might be a violation of anti-trust laws.
