free open-source software that's compatible with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; what more could you want in life? you can even import all your old word documents and they'll still work :)
guys I am sorry, with what I do libreoffice really isn't cutting it for me (it's been deleting my images and not letting me wrap them how I want, and doesn't have a draw function that I've found) and so I'm putting this list here for my own future reference, to try find another office alternative. feel free to weigh in on any of them if you can think of it! full disclosure I'm happy to pay a small to medium one-off amount to a company I can get behind just to have some of the features I miss back (and preferably better than word re: images). let me know what you all think!

Not sure how widely known this is but there is a small German company that created an office version for free called LibreOffice.

If you know OpenOffice then you know LibreOffice. I got rid of my office pack from MSN for my private computer (I am forced to use MSN for work) I am currently flirting with the idea of also getting rid of Microsoft 11 .
The great thing about LibreOffice is that it does everything that MSN does only better and your data is safe. I love it. That is all I have to say. It does everything I need and it makes me happy to know that Microsoft is not earning money with me or is looking into things that I don't want them to see and which is none of their business.
