Stay in touch with iCloud Photos as a micro-social network
It's not uncommon for family and friends to get increasingly spread further apart geographically. In my own family, I live in New York, my parents and brothers in Eastern(ish) Canada, friends all over the U.S. and Canada. Mainstream social media like Facebook can be great for sharing many things, but sometimes they are too public and what you really want instead is a micro-social tool.Â
One such micro-social tool is iCloud Photo sharing which is built into all Apple devices including computers, iPhones and iPads. As a write this, every member of my own family has an Apple device ("in the Orchard" as one friend likes to say). My brother created a micro-social network by way of shared, private iCloud feed to share pictures of my niece that he might not have otherwise not on Facebook. The feed has about 20 family members and close friends on it and this cozy group gets extra access to the family photo album. They will also often share their own pictures from events which I know my brother and sister in law appreciate too. Â Â
If you want to create your own shared iCloud photo feed, you can find out how here.Â
Do you have any micro-social networks?Â
