#GradblrChallenge Day 18:
Late posting again today. I haven’t really figured out a rhythm for posting yet--but we’re nigh on the end of this challenge, so I likely won’t figure one out. Apologies.
Today was...weird. On Thursdays, I only have a night class so I have practically all day to work from home, which I did. Got a few urgent things crossed off my To-Do List, and then sort of just relaxed since I’m still feeling drained from student conferences. Then, class tonight. Evidently, all but 2 of us in the class requested extensions for the paper that was due tonight--so our prof emailed us yesterday giving the whole class an extension. I did not need an extension. My paper has been done for 2 weeks (I marathoned it before Spring Break, if anyone recalls I continuously had an item on my daily To-Do’s related to my postcolonial theory paper). I replied to our prof’s email and said thanks but no thanks on the extension, here’s my paper. I figured, end of story--class tonight would proceed as usual. Wrong. We talked for maybe 45 minutes-an hour and then our prof told me and the only other student who had completed her paper on time that we were free to go and she was going to spend some time giving our classmates a “tough love” talk about time management. Wow. We are in graduate school. What is going on?
In other news, I also made my end-of-semesterly To-Do list, containing everything coursework related I need to accomplish this semester. I also tacked on categories for Conference Papers and Dissertation just for laughs. It’s a good visual reminder of why I should be anxious 24/7.
