Mick Mannock:

Edward "Mick" Mannock is probably the most well-known ace to fly for the RFC/RAF in WW1 and not for nothing. He not only was quite the handsome man, he was also one of the most successful aces with 61 victories to his name. His whole life was very interesting too. A working class Irishman, he survived weeks as a prisoner of war in 1914, worked as an engineer in 1916 before joining the RFC.

Zhu Binhao aka Etienne Tsu: It’s a real tragedy that Zhu Binhao is not better known. He was born in Shanghai, and studied engineering. In the 1910s, he developed a deep passion for aviation, and returned to France (where he had earned his degree) to learn to fly. When the war broke out just a few months after he earned his license, he joined the French Foreign Legion, and during the war was able to achieve several victories. Little is known about his life after the war, beyond that he returned to his home country to teach others to fly.
