You rolled your eyes as you finally began to move to the next enclosure, but you knew you had the fondest look ever on your face. When it came to Michael, he was an idiot, but definitely your idiot, and you intended to spend as much quality time together as you could whilst he was home.

The next enclosure was the elephants - your favourite - and you squealed as you reached the fence, going up on your tiptoes for the best view of the incredible animals. As you watched the elephants eating hay and vegetables with the rest of the small crowd, you felt Michael stand immediately behind you, pressing his chest to your back and slipping his long arms underneath yours and wrapping them around you. His mop of blonde hair fell into your peripheral as he hooked his head over your shoulder and pressed a soft kiss to your cheek. “Are you having a good day, beautiful?” You broke your look at the elephants to look at him, a bright smile on your face at being in your favourite place with your favourite person. “Of course! Did you wanna go to the next animal?” “No.” Michael replied in a soft voice. “I like watching you watch the elephants.” You squeezed his clasped hands where you were holding onto them at your waist and returned your gaze to the animals, revelling in the feeling of being back in your boyfriend’s arms. “I love you.” Michael whispered, pressing a gentle kiss to the side of your head as he watched you watch the elephants. “I missed you.”    "I love you too. And I always miss you. But why are we whispering?” You whispered back, giggling as you turned in Michael’s arms to face him. “I don’t know! It felt like we were having a 'moment’!” Michael protested at your back as you wriggled free and began dragging him off in the direction of the hot dog stand you’d passed thirty minutes before. You just laughed and continued on your quest, causing Michael to speed up to be level with you, dropping your hand and throwing his arm around your shoulders. He gave you a gentle squeeze as you fell into a comfortable step together. “And, I’m sorry I spent some of our date snapchatting Luke…he just looks so much like a giraffe, I dunno how I’m gonna cope when we get to them.” At this, you snickered and wound your own arm around Michael’s back. “Tell you what, Clifford - buy me a stuffed elephant and a slushie and you can snapchat your boyfriend to your heart’s desire.” “Okay, deal…wait a second,  Luke’s not my bo-mmpphh!” Something about your boyfriend’s happy little face creasing in confusion and faux-outrage was too cute, causing you to quickly lean up and plant your lips onto his. Michael quickly settled into the kiss, neither of you caring that trying to make out and walk at the same time was slowing you down to the point that you were effectively blocking the path.
