Detective Story (1951, dir. William Wyler)
Today in the Department of Before They Were Star Trek Stars, Andrew Robinson guest stars in "The Cannibals," episode 13 of the fifth season of The Streets of San Francisco (original air date January 20, 1977).
Robinson plays Ron Maguire, a gangster's son who steals a suitcase of money from his cold, disapproving bastard of a father and kills two men in the process. He turns states' evidence in the hopes that Witness Protection will shield him from a murder rap and a vengeful patriarch, but they're just using him as bait to lure Dad and his henchmen into a trap. In the end, both father and son end up betraying each other to the law.
Other Trek connections below the fold.
