Jaafar Jackson: Behind The Scenes Of Michael
"And when we talked about being number 1 on the call sheet and the responsibility that comes with that... You're number 1. People are watching you and watching your behavior and they're gonna know how to move the other actors, etc. And I want you to be the king like your uncle."
-Angela Gibbs (Jaafar's acting coach)
Prince Jackson and Jaafar Jackson 🤗💗❤️
Q: Did you grow up around Jaafar?
"Yes! After my Dad died we all moved into Hayvenhurst together so we all grew up under the same roof as cousins, as siblings and so it was really cool to grow up the way we did... making home movies at the house and then 10-15 years later we're back making a major motion picture." - Prince Jackson
The first time that I saw him in person in his hair and makeup was really an emotional shock because I had not seen my father in a long time and to see him... Jaafar just embodied him and brought him back in that moment. It was difficult to maintain and keep composure because I really just wanted to give him a hug in that moment but I had to tell him like "Jaafar, I'm proud of you. You're gonna do great but I gotta take a little step outside" - Prince Jackson

"I want to wipe my uncle's slate clean by showing his humanity.” - Jaafar Jackson
The whole performance of Jaafar as Michael feels like destiny!! It's truly beautiful.
Randy, Jaafar's brother, saying that even as kids they knew this was in him....
Quincy Jones... RIP.... saying back in 2018 how he wanted to cast Jaafar as Michael before this biopic was a twinkle in anyone's eyes...
Best of all Michael Jackson himself observing his nephew and saying "If anyone's going to be most like me, it's that one"
I gotta be totally real with you... something that annoys me about the Michael Jackson hate is that I feel like Jaafar Jackson is catching some stray bullets off of that. Like okay, you have an irrational hatred of Michael because of lies the media has sold you but Jaafar is not Michael. Like I've been curious so I've looked on certain Tumblr accounts where they are anti Michael Jackson and I noticed a trend where they also don't post any pictures about Jaafar. And I'm not even talking about them not posting gifs or pictures of the biopic because the absence of that is not surprising. I'm talking about random photoshoots and such of Jaafar. I just feel like people be sleeping on Jaafar and his perfection. This dude epitomizes black beauty and grace and kindness and talent and dedication and humbleness. He's so multi talented it's not even fair. He has the singing voice of a frickin angel. He can dance, he's an amazing artist, he can play the piano, he super good at sports. He played football, basketball, golf and did track. And then to top it off at the age of about 29, he finds out that he's an Oscar worthy actor. He's sweet, gentle, loyal, funny, has a beautiful smile, is articulate, soft spoken, charming, debonair, and fashionable. I just want Jaafar to get some love from every direction and I don't hold out any hope that some people will put aside their biases about Michael and actually see that he was truly innocent and a good guy but Jaafar is not his uncle and it's not fair that he's catching strays.
A compilation of some of my favorite Jaafar centric moments in the "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" documentary. Also a little music video/tribute to Jaafar at the end cause I was just feelin the love and couldn't help it lol
