For just $150.00 Presenting the ultimate in signed Taxco jewelry, Los Castillo. This is a gorgeous and I do mean stunning, sterling silver choker necklace with the Eagle 15 mark. It is one of his Azteca Mosaico designs,. Abalone shell is inlaid into panels of sterling. There is a total of 18 panels and each panel is divided in two by a thin section of silver. Each piece of shell displays stunning coloration. You can tell he picked only the finest and most colorful Abalone when crafting this Modernist work of art. The back is put together with sterling rings hooked into carefully constructed sterling eyes on the ends of each panel. This gives it a flowing fluid look from the front. The clasp is a V clip style and clicks securely into place, adding to it's style. The movement is amazing and reminds me of calming waves at an ocean seaside. What I find unusual about this choker is the use of Abalone as opposed to his usual Chrysocolla in lay. Los Castillo is getting much harder to find and I consider this a very rare work of wearable art! I doubt you will ever find another one like it. There are 3 identifying stamps on the back. From extensive research on his marks this piece was made from somewhere between 1950 to no later than 1965. It is a total weight of 45 grams. Each panel is 3/4" Total choker size is 14" I would recommend having it professionally cleaned. Due to it's value, This item will be shipped insured and will require delivery confirmation.
