Colliderscope June 2012 - with Lance Herbstrong
This Saturday (9th June 2012) from 10pm (GMT) on Space Invader Radio
Tense, nervous headache? Feelings of detachment and forboding? Irrational fear of men who blow dry their hair? All perfectly natural and understandable sensations, my friends, but why not try the all new antidote to modern living? Simply imbibe two hours of Colliderscope elixir this very Saturday in the company of me, Dr Dan Morgan and a whole lot of soothing big booty bass. Then call me in the morning for da reeeewind.
As you know, each month on the 'scope we keep our ears open for only the finest musical fare to lay on you in the mix and the previous weeks have seen a glut of positively outrageous funk floating this way. So, it's only right and proper that the first hefty slice of blendation strongly reflects the state of play where party breaks, beats and hip hopping are concerned. All forming the perfect hors d'oeuvre for a delectable Miaow Mix main course.
And speaking of which, riding the wheels like hi-ho silver for June on Colliderscope are multi-instrumentalist remix scientists and spoonerism enthusiasts, Lance Herbstrong. I use the word remix in a rather flippant manner there, but Herbstrong don't merely re-jigger, they re-orchestrate (they like to say "new and improved"). And their skills aren't just limited to within the cosy confines of an Apple Mac with a spot of fist pumping thrown in neither...Lance Herbstrong is a performance, proper instruments - the lot, causing crowds to jump up and down across the globe. Consisting of smokey mcpotters Kamal Soliman, Bill Sarver and strummer Peter DiStefano, your boys have taken time out of their current tour to bring you a righteous selection of their past, present and future works (available FOR NOTHING here). This, to use the parlance of our times, is good shit.
Looking ahead, like the weather in Norwegian, to the final third of the show, I shall make a valiant attempt to traverse genres and indeed tempo, blending with all the well meaning subltely as that idiot on the internet who purees things like iphones n' junk. It'll go dark, it'll go large, lawd only knows it'll go sideways, but it's going to be lots and lots of fun. Believe.
See you Saturday, 10pm (GMT), on Space Invader - and be sure to check back in come Sunday for all the usual track listing and listen again whojamawotsit.
