For this week's Meta Monday, we're spotlighting Lierdumoa’s meta fanvid “How Much Is That Geisha In the Window?”. Made for the 2008 Vividcon, it's focused on Firefly's orientalism and glorification of the Confederate States of America.
The vid is notable for being one of Rebecca Tushnet's examples in the US Copyright Office's DMCA hearings about the fair use of ripping material from DVDs. The Fanlore article was featured on our homepage in 2021.
